Yes, yes, I agree. Close-minded sexually frustrated angry insecure men unite!

If sexism is included in the same context of misogyny that we're speaking of and vice-versa, then yes it is relevant. I think sexism is almost always an important aspect of misogyny. If you can't adapt to such "low thinking" why not think of it as "viewing something from a perspective other than your own and drawing a conclusion from that." It's a little less intense to handle.

Good stuff. I guess connotations associated with misogyny are often incorrectly associated with sexism, though I would argue that both concepts fit in similar niches of thinking. Kind of a tangent but I find it unfortunate that a lot of people I know are easily offended by discussions over physical attributes between sexes, races, people in different regions of the world, etc. and view many objective facts as sexist in nature, even though they are supported by empirical data. This makes it diffi…

Good point, and although it's always better to remain positive and humorous, these issues still seriously affect people in negative ways.

It sounds like you're arguing to win because I disagree with you, not to learn. Nothing I said was an excuse for women being sexist. Sexism has been a bigger problem for women than men in history, hence the fact that sexism towards men isn't, in our society, usually considered an actual problem, when actually, it is. If you don't consider all sides with regards to my entirely provable statement that sexism has been more inclined towards women throughout history and that affects everything we're …

I think sexism is mainly an objective matter and most people understand the idea that sexism is bad, but I would bet most people don't fully realize the ideas or comments that potentially allude to sexism. Critical thinking is necessary to make efficient progress with all issues, and unless the core of the issue is fixed, then the issue persists. How women act is not the issue, the reasons why women have certain, considerably "negative" traits about them is the issue. The exact same applies to a…

generalizing an entire group of people because of their gender is sexism This concept applies to all people. Though throughout history sexism has been attributed to mainly women (there is much evidence to back this), so those repercussions are still prevalent in our society. Unfortunately, women are still feeling the very tight grip of sexism surrounding them. And unfortunately for men, sexism towards men is a relatively "new" concept for society to accept. If a man and a woman say an identical …

This isn't a personal attack on you, merely my opinion on the matter. "I don't trust women in power" is a sexist statement geared towards all women. Maybe it's not hatred towards women, but generalizing an entire group of people because of their gender is sexism. Telling a sexist joke is offensive to women (edit-or male/transgender/etc., whichever gender the joke is referring to) because it furthers the idea of gender based discrimination, trivializes it, and signifies that the person telling th…

i hope youre actually trolling because if not youre a senseless sack of shit just like the rest of these hiveminded fools with a lot of hate stemming from mother or father problems without regard to this subreddit's actual purpose or goal. i'd guess a sexist or abusive father or lack of healthy maternal connection as a child and/or young adult. your psychology tip of the day, good luck having happy relationships when you mature!

so much selfish hate in this post without recognition of contextual problems. be a healthy fucking individual and find other healthy fucking individuals. equal rights between genders have absolutely nothing to do with relationship effort; that is cultural construction built up from thousands of years. the argument "Well, if you wanted equal rights, you'd be doing half the fucking work! You're not, so you must want to keep things the way they are" is a barely subtle statement similar to "women do…

it's obviously an act of desperation based on legitimate science that produces/produced actual results, however relatively negligible in our society but not for theirs. get over yourselves

He misunderstood everything I said and took it as a personal insult to all men I guess.

HA. It's funny that you say this because "hate filled rhetoric" is exactly how I would describe your whole shit post. Okay I am getting real sick of arguing this because I have been doing it for the past few weeks but the claim that "men rape women more so that is a bigger issue than the inverse" is a shit argument. This is like saying blacks commit more crime so we have to do something about those darn niggers. All that it really tells anyone is that you are JUST A BIGOTED FUCKING ASSHOLE. Sure…

As I'm sure you saw throughout school, girls were and are more pressured to change their exterior looks than boys. Each gender has its unique pressures and disadvantages throughout life. I usually notice most of these as culturally created and modified.

Your use of fallacies to project your anger is impressive. Edit-I've read some of your other comments. Do you harbor resentment against someone who commented on your uncircumcised penis? Or a girl in high school talking about uncircumcised penises with her friends and saying they're gross?

I am uncircumcised and will always be uncircumcised. On paper, males with uncircumcised penises have an easier chance to contract certain STDs (or whatever the current term is nowadays) than males with circumcised penises. However, the data is negligible to the point where the benefits of uncircumcised penises (for males) outweigh the bad (for males), especially with circumcision later in life. Women who are afraid of uncircumcised penises are, in my opinion, misguided and a little naive. But th…

Throughout history their were strict gender roles that had advantages and disadvantages for both sexes because that was the most efficient way to run society when life was difficult and resources were scarce. Not to sound rude but judging by what you write here you would probably accept Iran's current laws towards women as acceptable, in this time of necessary "efficiency". Fix injustice with justice, not more injustice. And I don't think you understand how many more women are "violently raped" …
