“Women do not like paying alimony.” Go figure.

Pretty sure the Duluth model has a bit to do with why men’s reaction isn’t police related.

Thank you. The only one of those that I’ve watched is the good doctor, and you’re totally right, there are a plethora of positive male roles in that show, despite having their various issues.

Could you please list some of these shows, preferably still on the air, which show positive make figures and that buck the SJW trend?

US school systems opt for less physical play, and more team work (less competition) which favors girls, as boys typically thrive on competition and have more energy to burn. I have two generations of experience in the school system to attest to this. In the US, while they will rarely overtly admit to it, car insurance costs more for men despite women getting in more accidents (the excuse I have heard is that when men get into accidents, it’s a lot worse, and counter balances). I have personal ex…

Depending on how they’re doing their fake statistics, one man worth 50 billion makes up for quite a few homeless men’s missing salaries/savings, though they probably just omitted the men who weren’t working.

Her significant other’s will never matter, only the man’s. At least that’s what the judge said in my case....

From the other side of this coin, the spouse’s income matters when they determine the level of child support when using a basis of overall financial impact to the paying party. For example, if you’re a low paid man with a highly paid wife, they’ll take every dime you make, or as close to it as the law allows, because “it will have less of a financial impact on [the man]”. Most states seem to have a calculator on how much a person should pay/receive, but judges just seem to use this as a starting…

I’m not sure what the goal of your comment is, but it, ironically enough, seems to be an attempt at trolling. My other comments explain the purpose of my response, which was not to elicit a response on this comment thread but to help prevent an over generalization issue. I don’t know about you, but I would prefer to foster a positive outside perspective of this subreddit and those who frequent it.
/r/MensRights08/12/19 07:07 PM

I understand. I even agree with his response (like you, I can’t be certain I’d emulate it). The entire point of my comment realistically had nothing to do with him at all - I see other subreddits that cherry pick comments way too often, and I don’t want them to have any more fuel than they already have.
/r/MensRights08/12/19 02:39 AM

You are allowed to dump anybody for any reason you like, I agree. On the same note, I am allowed to make a public statement (even about something obvious) voicing my disagreement with your statement. If you had put this on any other subreddit, I wouldn’t have said anything - like you pointed out, I know nothing of you or your life. As I already said, I don’t want anybody to accidentally get the wrong idea about MRA’s based on your comment.
/r/MensRights08/12/19 01:28 AM

I sense the sarcasm and I realize that the advice is likely to be ignored. I would just prefer that any third party that happens across this post not see your comment and cherry pick it as “This is how all MRA’s think!”. Best of luck.

Looks fade and body types change. The older you get, with more responsibilities (such as kids, if you choose to have them, careers, home maintenance, etc.) the more difficult it is to maintain that body style. I understand the desire for the effort to be there, but I recommend you fall in love with your significant other’s eyes - those rarely change, and somebody who’s company you enjoy for more than their looks (looks can be a nice added bonus). I’m not saying you should date somebody who is in…

No, men have always been disposable since the beginning of time. It’s only a relatively recent development that men have gained any ground on gynocentrism at all. It’s not feminism’s fault that men are disposable, it’s historical fact... they’re just the face of it now.
/r/MensRights03/12/19 12:45 AM

Yup. Exactly.
/r/MensRights03/12/19 12:42 AM

Men die in war, are circumcised, die more often at work... plenty of men’s problems that feminism didn’t cause.
/r/MensRights02/12/19 06:40 PM

Agreed. Note the phrase “the message of [feminism]” - they legitimize themselves by claiming what people want to hear, equality for all. Their actions tell another story, of course.
/r/MensRights02/12/19 06:38 PM

That’s why I say “the message of”, they claim to be pushing for equality (though I acknowledge it is not their practice).

Good luck. Pertaining your project’s title; I am curious, do you truly see men’s rights as a backlash to feminism? Personally, I view men’s rights as the other half of the story. It’s an inevitable outcome of the societal structure we’re in. Together with [the message of] feminism, men’s rights forms two halves of the same coin of egalitarianism. Of course, there is a bit of a pushback into the ground feminism has easily taken while nobody stopped them, but it’s certainly not a counter movement …

I’m sorry, I don’t have a link to the studies, but they do exist. I believe the rationale is that, while a woman may pay into taxes during her working years, the tax benefits she receives over her entire lifetime outweighs the amount paid in taxes on average - especially when compared to her male counterpart.
/r/MensRights10/10/19 04:39 AM

Women, over the course of their lives and on average, do not pay into the tax system. Society would crumble.

There was a story a while ago about a professor, I believe in a STEM class, that raised the female of the class’ grades solely because of their sex. I imagine this would probably start to happen more often.

“I personally loathe when people grunt loudly/yell at the gym. It’s distracting and startling.” Technically, I said grunt loudly to combine the “grunting” and “loud noises”. I didn’t add qualifiers after the fact. I haven’t changed my argument. I hate when people make unnecessary loud noises, be they a yell, a grunt, or throwing weights. It’s purely opinion. I didn’t even overtly say I agree with the rule, only that I don’t like (loathe) when people yell/grunt loudly at the gym. My intent was to…

See, you continue to prove my point of your immature nature. I guess I shouldn’t have expected more from the Internet. A yell and a loud grunt are similar in their volume - that was the point of listing both. I don’t care which it is, and I have heard both, I don’t appreciate inconsiderately high decibel sounds in public.
/r/MensRights26/08/19 08:15 PM
1

Loudly, adverb, “in a way that causes much noise”, “in a strong or emphatic manner”, “vulgarly obstructive manner, flashily” Yell, verb, “give a loud, sharp cry” A yell is typically associated with voice with intent to be heard. A loud grunt... is a loud grunt of excessive volume, similar to a yell but more guttural.

Just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it’s right. Just because something is right, doesn’t mean it’s popular. Everybody laughs at the jester, after all. I stated that I understand the rule and clarified my standpoint, you make an immature reaction. You have lowered my expectations for proper discourse in this sub. I hope you grow up some day to the man I know you can be.

Then I’m wrong about the volume. Sorry about that.

I think this guy said it better than me? An important distinction between martial arts noises and the inane screams later mentioned is the volume and setting. Martial arts (from my limited experience as a child) noises are 1) generally anticipated by all around 2) not at the top of your lungs.

I have never owned a pair of headphones that could block out a yell at relatively close proximity, especially not ones I’d want to wear while working out, have you? Note that I used the qualifier “loudly/yell”. There is no reason to yell while lifting.

Great assumption. Wrong, but great.
/r/MensRights26/08/19 06:18 PM

Please note the qualifier “loudly/yell” that I used. There is no reason for you to make excessively loud noises while lifting. You are perfectly able to breathe heavily without the use of vocal cords, or barring that, able to keep it to a considerate volume.

I’m at the gym four days a week, is that enough of a regular basis for you? You’re entitled to your opinion that I would deem inconsiderate of others, and I’m allowed to dislike when people seemingly randomly yell while lifting. Keep your voice down to approximately a speaking volume, just don’t yell (note the qualifier in my original post saying “loudly/yell”). As for the comparison to tennis - tennis is normally played, at the professional level, away from others doing anything but watching th…

I like your assumptions. You’ve made yourself look like the immature individual that you so obviously are. Good luck with that. In the effort of proper discourse: Please note that I used the qualifier “loudly/yell”. There is no need to make a sound at the top of your voice while lifting, ever. Lower range expulsion of air at about the same range as a normal talking voice? Sure - but never a yell.

I personally loathe when people grunt loudly/yell at the gym. It’s distracting and startling. This has nothing to do with anti-man, it has to do with making everybody feel comfortable in a situation where many people are already self conscious.

No, we shouldn’t buy their products again just because they’ve changed their message. They didn’t apologize or explain themselves, they just changed their message in hopes or regaining sales. In this case, it’s like allowing a known pedophile to watch your children simply because they’ve asked to. If nothing else, the message needs to be sent to corporations that if you get woke, you’ll go broke... even if you backpeddle.

If your wage is getting imputed, they’ll use the state of residence. If you can prove your wages, they’ll use whatever state and state taxes you actually pay in. I know this from personal experience.

I’m confused about a few things: 1) how would you force a gender to sit on the men’s chair or the woman’s chair? Given the choice between the two, it seems like the women’s version is more comfortable for men and would be their first choice to sit on between these two “chairs”, thereby forcing “man spreading”. 2) why does the women’s version force spread legs to take up more space? If taking up extra space is bad, the logical conclusion is that nobody should do it. 3) how are those considered ch…

I don’t understand why they would discriminate against hard working children from any background by adding a factor that not everybody can account for. Imagine being the male child of a rich white couple (just to hit the perfect storm of everybody-hates-you-politically) that works hard and gets a perfect score on the SAT, only to be limited to an 80% because of who you are. If they want to add a background component to college admissions, it shouldn’t be hidden within the SAT score.

I agree, the government can’t realistically do much to encourage women to close the pay gap beyond education, but that’s pretty big. The government, can, however, rectify the other side of that coin and mandate “parental” leave, shared custody, and stop valuing men by how much is in their bank account or as cannon fodder. To use the feminist logic, help the men to help the women. By providing these opportunities to men, women will be able to play on a more equal playing field because men could n…

While There is no difference in what the different genders earn based on hours and experience, there is a gender pay gap as women earn less than men (through working easier/lower paying jobs and fewer hours). Yes you can. Step one is to listen to her accusation and any evidence she may have. It is important that they not be ignored because it very well might be true. Step two is to investigate the claim further. Is there evidence of wrongdoing such that it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law? If so, the accused should be charged, and a trial carried out, if not, continue down the road of life.

Ignoring the fact that men’s reports of any sexual type harassment is largely ignored so any statistics will be skewed, if women are worried about sexual harassment/perverts why do they want to go into the (formerly) men’s room? Why not a women’s room and an everybody else room? That accounts for all genders, gives women their privacy, and is substantially more fair to men.
/r/MensRights13/12/18 11:48 PM

That sounds like what I said too... something something don’t care if there’s just one everybody bathroom something something. The inequality is that women get access to both bathrooms, and men do not. I understand your point that you don’t think enough men care - and I will disagree and say that not enough men care enough to do anything about it as they will likely (as somebody else in this comment section said) become a joke as a result. I do not know any males who are in favor of this change,…

Nor you, my writing. You said men, in general, don’t care (I disagree, but that’s beside the point). I asked why you think it’s fair to give women access to everything, but men only access to half the facilities? Instead of answering, you try to insult me... you, sir (yes, I just assumed your gender - I know that offends your type), are the problem.
/r/MensRights13/12/18 10:39 PM
2

If women care about having their own bathroom, why can they use the other one too? That’s unfair. I personally don’t care who is in the bathroom with me, have one large everybody room - doesn’t matter. The fact is that men get the short end of the stick, and that’s not right - despite what you consider to be popular opinion.

They’re going about it the wrong way then. Fathers can’t help when they don’t have custody. Fathers can’t help as much when they’re still expected to be the primary bread winners. Fathers can’t help in a system that is currently not set up for it.

Most, if not all, feminists are “strong advocates” for fathers rights... the father’s right to pay. They support this right so strongly that they are even trying to extend this right beyond the previous biological bounds set by nature! In fact, they’ll even allow fathers to pay the benevolent women as well.

The solution is simple... use the gender neutral bathroom. Complain to the manager, and politely tell them they have lost your business as a result. Do not return. The issue will resolve itself if enough men take part because money talks.

Since men are physically more powerful, Women can control men by three means: enforcement of their will by more powerful men than those to be controlled, general control over the mans children, and sex. Your situation removes all three of these methods of control and as such will not happen.

Women control the lions share of the domestic spending - chances are she’ll allow him to buy something that says kitchen over something that doesn’t. Burn one bridge down to build another to greener pastures, I guess.
/r/MensRights03/07/18 01:23 AM

I understand your point... however the harmful stereotype is not that men do not undertake domestic tasks, but the incompetence of men (read the description of the item saying finally a kitchen men can control). The female equivalent might be to sell a toaster oven and call it “women’s car” with the line “finally something you can’t back into the only pole in the parking lot!”

Thus the reason why two ideals that claim the goal of gender equality cannot yet join forces to achieve that goal. Which brings me back to my original point - everybody, feminists especially, need to learn to listen and accept that everybody has problems that they need help with, and that this aid is not a zero sum game.

I believe men are trying to raise awareness and discuss their problems... but feminists won’t listen and yell so loud they won’t let society listen. If you tell a feminist that there is a reason for the wage gap and state facts, they will accuse you of being misogynistic, and demand you stop mansplaining and consider themselves to be victorious in the argument. Men are shamed for who they are by feminists and silenced (or at least ignored) in as many ways as they can think of.... Feminists are t…

My opinion on a large step on how to achieve this is Feminists need to stop treating men like the enemy and like it’s a zero sum game where either men or women get help. Don’t get me wrong; men and women both need to understand this, but I see it more out of feminists. Inequality and injustice. Even in your own narrative you show these traits pertaining to both genders. Your statement seems to imply that women are not willing, able, or even should go to school and make money - but even if they do they will be judged not by their intellect but by their beauty and genitalia. That is not how society should be. Society should also see men as more than a means of provision. Men, like women, are more than a pocket book - with interests and desires beyond the stereot…

In the states that I am familiar with the child support laws, if you can prove she has been willfully unemployed/underemployed you can ask to have her wage imputed (estimated based in the average for her age and educational level), and for a whole family deviation (this would take your other dependent into account). The courts heavily favor women, though, so expect both of these requests to be denied. The reason your payments are going up from $200 to $700 likely lies in the way the courts deter…

At least in the states I am familiar with, both parents' income is taken into account to calculate how much "would have been spent" on the child. That amount is then split between the two parents based on the income ratio of their annual earnings, and the non-primary-custodial parent is required to pay that amount.... and some extra costs for child care, health insurance, etc... The endgame is equality. With that being said, It's likely that would be lower sentencing for men and higher/existent sentencing for women. Depending on the state you're in, the assuming you make a larger amount is called imputing your wage and is commonplace when being "under employed". The problem is that many people believe that women shouldn't have to protect themselves or take any precautionary measures in order to ensure their safety - a notion that is completely justified as in a perfect society, nobody should ever feel the need to protect themselves.
