You need your own therapist, a man that specializes in supporting other men through divorce. As sad as it is, you Can’t make her stay, and she doesn’t want you. I know it hurts. I just went through this in September last year. You need to accept it and push forward. It will get better. And find a good attorney ASAP. The divorce is the hardest part, so get through that as quickly as possible so you can get this behind you.

Completely agree. I’m selfish now and put that effort into myself. Much more rewarding

You love you, god loves you. As long as I have that I really don’t care what anyone else thinks or feels about me.

run for the hills before he ruins you financially. I was married to such person. obsessed with crypto. I'm not saying crypto is bad, but to invest effectively, one needs to leave the emotions and attachment at the door, and think objectively.

I see. my soon to be ex does the same. It’s manipulative and a way to exert coercive control

Try therapy maybe to discuss. When she says you don’t respetc her boundaries, what do you think that means?

Does she have a history of emotional outbursts when you don’t behave as expected? Bottom line, she doesn’t have the right to tell you what to do with your own body ( jerking off to porn) any more than you have the right to tell her what to do with hers. Maybe postpartum depression/ anxiety is a factor, if so, therapy and medical care for her may help. Nobody here can tell you how to assert yourself in your own marriage, but in my opinion- she sounds controlling and volatile. Not a good combinati…

You might try therapy first. Look at Gottman therapy it is evidence based and effective. Do you think menopause could be a factor in her behavioral changes?

You might want to look at the success rates of second marriages, and relationships that start during divorce. For me personally this is my second divorce, the odds are against me- I’m choosing to stay single for life

Leave before she try’s to pin you with dv again. My ex was arrested for DV, told the cops I had sexually coerced her earlier that day- hadn’t had sex in years at that point. be careful around the time of a breakup or divorce, those behaviors always flare up around that time.

Yes. This absolutely kills me- I stayed married for years longer than I wanted to, because I could not, and cannot bear the thought of my wife being with someone else (which she is). like you, I made plenty of my own mistakes, she made hers too. I’m still so emotionally fraught, and she moved on so quickly. It is devastating. Ultimately, ignoring it does work- I just have to force myself not to think of her that way. delete all sexy/ nude/etc pictures that you have. ALL of them. I did a little m…

Since you're seeing a therapist, CBT can help with this. For me personally, I literally refuse to let myself have those thoughts. I redirect them somewhere else, for example, to women I find more attractive. I also missed the sexual connection to my wife and missed her body in every way. In my case her behavior and harsh rejection of me was enough to turn me away from thinking of her sexually. I feel its probably a pride issue, that doesn’t allow me to want someone who doesn’t want me.

YES. I am a mental health professiona. Worked for many years to get to doctoral level. My ex knows even ONE dv accusation will make me ineligible to work. She attacked me and thank god i secretly recorded it with my phone. when the police arrived, she was alleging that i hit her! I have NEVER hit her. She has threatened to destroy me like this if I do not give her money.

If this just happened: You call 911 in your area and report that she is suicidal. If she is not currently (as in right now) a risk for self harming, all you can do is Document this for any legal proceedings, and your son’s safety immediately. I would not play around with any threats like this, your child does not need to be with a caregiver who is unstable and actively suicidal. I would contact my lawyer ASAP and at least seek to get custody modified

I see your update too. Full disclosure: I am a therapist and have seen both men and women in these situations. People are experts at hiding affairs, sadly, your judgement is biased. We are supposed to support our spouse through ups and downs, that is the vow we took. Women can be emotionally promiscuous more than men can and this directly correlates with infidelity. She may not be physically cheating but if she is the type who falls in love easily, she may be seeking support outside the marriage…

well, my wife was a lesbian most of her life until we got married. 100%, she targeted me for money. she has never been attracted to me and I can feel it. i have nothing against bisexuals, but I think often they do have a preference or are experimenting. I won’t be someone’s experiment anymore

I am literally praying that I get to that point. The attachment and agony is killing me. I did tell her no recently when she asked me for help. Baby steps, I guess. She can be the next poor fool’s problem.

God did I need to read this. I haven’t had sex in going on 6 years now. I am talking to a woman I met and I am really nervous to get back into things ( no pun intended) after so Long.

Yes, I’d be walking for sure. she has an unstable and vindictive tempermant, with poor impulse control. All a very bad mix for marriage, or any situation where you rely on the person. This is something my ( soon to be ex) would do. And then blame me for, as I’m sure she is blaming you.

I am a child therapist. You do not need to tell him it was mutual- it wasn’t, and dont lie. assure him he is loved by you both. It will take him some time to adjust. your sons behavior is a consequence of her actions that she will have to accept. She can support your son by increasing one on one time with him, meeting him where he is at, and being patient. Please, I hope she is not introducing a boyfriend or significant other to your children at this time. That will only make things worse and si…
