In part, yes, thank you.

This is why I came here. To learn. This isn't a "feminism ain't so bad" post. It's a "this is what I've been lead to believe, I'm trying to educate myself, please teach me" post. Yeah, try googling MRA. You get a blatant smear campaign. I want to know what"s really up. You in?

I'm genuinely curious about this. Please expand.

What is your definition of feminism?

Direct response yes, but I don't think it has to be a negative one. I am aware that feminism is pretty muddled and lacks realistic goals at this point in history. I'm only recently learning the difference between the origin of feminism and it's current mutation. Because of this I understand the current knee jerk reaction towards feminism. I don't understand the knee jerk reaction towards women who are coming from a feminist stand point that would like to learn more about this movement.

I agree absolute equality is a pretty unreachable goal considering the history of the human race and our day to day selfish egotistical view of the world. I don't think I quite understand your second point. Is that to say women can't support the MRM?

I guess I didn't make my point very clear. Not having to think or consider consequences based solely on race, gender or religion is a privilege because it is a societal norm. Does that clarify at all?

Is that actually the case? I haven't heard about this. Feminists picket mens shelters to make a point about reproductive rights? Am I miss understanding? You make a good point about there being too few mens shelters. It really is unfair. Welp. I hope that the feminists you're talking about haven't soured you on all women. The more I'm learning about the feminism of today the more it sounds like a bunch of bored yuppy teenage girls that don't know where to direct their feelings of inadequacy and …

Holy shit! What an awesome account and understanding! I find I have a lot of problems with todays feminists, I've found that the term has been bastardized by those who think they uphold it. Thank you for such an excellent explanation. When you talked about women not being able to cut it in some male dominated jobs is exactly what I feel about women wanting equality. You have to be held to the same standards. That doesn't mean lowering them. Changing the rules does not mean you win.

Think you might have missed the point.

What's the quote, "Only retards and siths deal in absolutes"? I think this might be applicable in this case! Well said.

I'm sorry I have so many questions, but what makes MRM incompatible with "modern feminism"? What is "modern feminism"? Thank you very much for the clarification. You seem to really know your stuff!

Could you go into further detail? You have peeked my curiosity!

I feel like this movement is a real and needs to be taken seriously, however when I engage with someone that identifies themselves as MRA they seem to only bring up how shitty feminism is and how unnecessary it is and not what MRA are all about, on top of that there seems to be this air of one cannot exist with the other. This says to me is saying that women issues need to be put aside. I'm curious as to what this sub has to say, and whether I am interpreting incorrectly. I wrote what's at the t…

Ok, that seems to me at least, the feminist is a confused 14 year old girl. Isn't feminism about not getting raped, the right to abort and putting an end to spousal abuse? (which should go both ways and be part of both movements but I digress.)

That wasn't my intent. I was trying to illustrate that I recognize both against both genders as wrong. I had thought that I needed to do so because you brought it up and considered me a retard. I'm confused. These things are all terrible and I am in complete agreement with you, they need to change and it is warped the way the governments of the world are handling it. I don't see how they correlate to what we were discussing. I feel as though I'm missing something, could you clarify?

I agree with these injustices, I see these as problems that need to be rectified and have for a long time. I find it strange that feminism is seen as a road block. Women want to be treated as equals, then they should be held to the same standard in these cases. What's a MGTOW? knowledge is always going to create a better standard of life, though I'm not sure what you mean about a better life. Can you explain a little bit more?

Yes they do, and it is terrible. They don't worry about it all that often. Just like women don't worry about getting mugged as often.

I completely agree with you, men get touched sexually and when it's not wanted, that happens, not saying it doesn't and I definitely agree it's wrong. It's always wrong and anyone saying otherwise is a dick. That doesn't discount the fact that women do get touched more often than men in the work place, and that's what the point of this piece was. The statistics that show the gross difference between the two genders in these areas, the point was that this is wrong. I agree with all of this. I thi…

I'm not entirely sure you understand what male and female privilege are. Yes there is both, neither is less legitimate than the other, neither are better or worse, this is simply our society and it really sucks. No this is not all of them, just some examples. Female privilege is not ever thinking that you not be trusted around young children, that your friendly plutonic interactions with the same sex will be considered "gay" and that, yes, you will be aloud to keep your children in custody battl…
