Honest to god I'm glad you're a doctor. We need strong, self empowered women in positions of authority.

I saw a reddit post about a woman who was scolded for "embarassing" her fiance while GIVING BIRTH because she was crying and making some "weird" noises (literally it was normal stuff). She mentioned that she didn't want to do couples counseling because she'd read it actually helps abusers. They play nice with the therapist then use the "the therapist thinks I'm nice so you're crazy and wrong" gaslighting move. Therapy just doesn't work for narcissists and sociopaths.

Yeah she definitely needed to be more clear that this whole situation is HIS fault, and that his wife is being incredibly kind to put up with him again. The bit in parentheses about her limits wasn't enough, imo. She needed to make it clear he may still get dumped and it won't be his wife's fault then either. On the other hand, I didn't get the luxury of a secure attachment style as a kid either but I still don't fucking cheat. Idk why men get that free pass to act like eternal toddlers. Get a b…

There should be an option in the tiktok settings to turn that off, though I'm not brave enough to test it lol Edit: it's under the suggest your account to others, you can toggle it off and tiktok won't suggest following your account to someone who views a link you send.

I personally struggle with avoidant behaviors sometimes and from my perspective, I don't invest in a relationship emotionally at all until I know the other person will reciprocate, and even then I am watchful for waning interest so I can break and run faster. I wouldn't use small gestures of affection as a measure because it's so easy to drop a few compliments/how was your days/remember a few details etc. Test their willingness to put in actual work in the relationship- be it communication, conf…

While I'm not conservative myself, I am reminded of an event a few years ago where a Yale professor was promoting adult discussion and it really brought to light how a lot of people think disagreement is equal to disrespect. Maybe because I grew up in a politically and socially mixed area, but I've never understood the "You must agree with me 100% or you're my ENEMY". It's reductionist, tribalistic, and frankly harmful. It's impossible to be in perfect agreement and insisting on that prevents la…

Adding to the weighing in of the kid, I don't recommend letting the potential partner love bomb the kid/buy their affection with gifts. It certainly clouded my judgement of my (now) step-mom who changed drastically as soon as she got the ring. (A whole mess, I don't really like her now, she's very much a narcissist, not hvw at all)

Heads up, I looked into it and that counts as taxable income from the plasma donations. Just so you don't get a surprise next spring :)

I was getting vibes if he's so obsessed with you he got a girlfriend as similar to you as possible tbh.

Ayy bus driver fam! I simply do Not understand people who act like jerks in vehicles, there is literally dozens of lives on the line, driving is not the time to be immature, inattentive, anything short of your very best. Driving buses made me hyper aware of my responsibility on the road, but I've never understood the aggressive road ragers trying to rile other cars up.

I've definitely seen that happen, even my golden retriever had to be socialized specifically as she grew up in a 98% white area. (Fortunately it didn't take long and she was more confused than aggressive or scared. We also had to train her hats aren't scary). I was referring mostly to people the dog has no obvious reason to be afraid of. I've seen lots of stories where mothers notice the dog suddenly dislikes their husband only to find out he was abusing the kids. Dogs are also sensitive to thei…

That's my exact thought, I can 100% see her being horrified by this man trashing 32 years of marriage, just screams flaky. What happens to her when he finds some new "toy"? Also, no mention of her husband or what happened to him...

Even the cats have boundaries argument isn't rock solid. My cat is a dumb little thing that loves everyone and will tolerate lots of things other cats won't. On the other hand, I 100% believe any dog that doesn't like someone. If you manage to have such nasty vibes even a dog is like "nah" Im OUT

The lost item feature will ping you every time someone with the tile app and Bluetooth is on gets in range. I wish it would automatically make noise, but thats only an option to turn on.

Get a bunch of bus drivers to trade it off after each route. I would have been down when I was driving

Supplements in general? Yeah, for sure. I don't think there's such thing as a lactose supplement, but maybe avoid gummies that may have dairy, but I doubt those exist. I take multivitamins all the time

While I hope the girl gets out and doesn't suffer consequences, the irony of him causing her fertility issues by damaging her cervix is kind of satisfying to consider. "No I can't carry a baby, my cervix won't support it"

Aren't they T shaped anyways? They can't be pulled out, surely they have to be refolded somehow (by a doctor obviously). This degenerate didn't even do basic research on what he was trying to rip out of her

Same, it was legit explained to me how their beer gut looks like a pregnant belly to describe dad bod. (A little demeaning to compare pregnancy to a beer belly in retrospect)

She claimed Native American heritage, but when people looked into it it was either extremely removed or non existant. However I also think it was like one form with one checked box from ages ago where they ask you your ethnicity, not like she was claiming it for all it was worth.

Yup, exactly what happened to me. Briefly dated a super depressed guy who 100% wanted me to do major emotional heavy lifting and when I didn't, I got dumped for not being invested in the relationship. Lmao sorry I recognize improving mental health is extremely work intensive and had the self respect to not drown myself to save him. I'll be supportive but as someone who's spent years working on myself, its not my job to fix others. It's on them.

Of course! It was never something I seriously considered, but I have poked around the idea before. However baby aside, the permanent health effects of having a child are far more serious then people give them credit for. A body has to undergo significant changes, and that's if the whole pregnancy goes perfectly. I just don't understand why people go with surrogacy when there's orphaned children RIGHT THERE.

This site talks about traditional surrogacy where the woman carrying the baby is genetically related and basically states that you need multiple phases of lawyers to truly end her rights as parent: https://surrogate.com/about-surrogacy/types-of-surrogacy/what-is-traditional-surrogacy/ This link unfortunately doesn't give specifics to states but confirms what the first one says: https://familytreesurrogacy.com/blog/surrogates-parental-rights/ However it does seem like surrogate mothers are gettin…

Its absolutely more messy when it's family, and the surrogate will continue seeing the child. At least in the US, the surrogate mother doesn't lose all her rights to the child. Ever. There's plenty of court cases where the surrogate decides to keep the baby after giving birth and there's not much the people who hired (?) her can do about it. I don't see how this won't tear your friend's family apart tbh.

Now that I think about it, no woman ever asked me to hold up my bus when I was driving but I had multiple guys ask that. The only pushback I got on rules from women was for strapping down wheeled items because they didn't want to inconvenience me since I had to get up and set up the restraints.

Seconding the fifth point, my dad is definitely interested in my safety and well being and he 100% wants "got home safely" texts from me, and asks for one whenever I have a long drive

This was years ago but if you sort by top for a year or all time you can find some nasty ones. The spreadsheet thing was popular for a bit.

What stuns me is that they seem to think they're good, reasonable guys. I was naive enough to think bad people would realize they're bad I guess. I'm lucky I found places like this before I learned the hard way

I stopped lurking after that. It was overwhelming how much these men HATE their wives.

It honestly sickened me. He was mad she was saying no right after working out when she was sore and tired, or when she was sick etc. His wife was clearly stressed and wanted time to relax and instead of like... spending time with her or trying to help he was just constantly propositioning her

Except literally though. The deadbedrooms sub literally has men making SPREADSHEETS of when they ask for sex and the outcomes. Some with years worth of 'data'. Yet none of them ever ask themselves "WHY is my wife closing off from me?" Maybe it's your sociopathic obsession with sex and feeling slighted?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/03/21 10:37 PM

Maybe it was and he just didn't notice the sounds were coming from four feet behind him? Shameful either way. Yet I see posts all the time saying "men become fathers when they hold their child for the first time"

Maybe it's because I'm not a mom and don't spend a ton of time with babies, but if I'm holding one (or what I'm told is a baby) I put 200% of my attention into holding it. At LEAST so I'm supporting the head properly, let alone comfortable! He didn't even glance down to see if the baby was asleep or awake

If you can get proof of the "pedophilia is normal" (gag) thing, I'd absolutely use it as ammo to never let him near your kids

Ugh, right? I was just sitting there like...(spoilers kinda) this dudes dad didn't want him to be happy and is dead. So to get back... at a DEAD guy... he's making himself miserable. How exactly is that 'showing him'?

I saw a comment where someone said fds was hella toxic so I came to investigate and found a bunch of reasonable posts about self respect lmao.

The belief that enough love can fix any problems is really toxic, imo. It 100% keeps people in bad relationships and the resulting fallout is always terrible
