No, that's why we have governments you bloody fool. The government takes responsibility for its citizens, and we all chip in via taxation to ensure that safety nets can be put in place. Honestly, are you actually that dense?

That's all well and good, but you literally can't stop morons being baby making machines. At the end of the day this is about the child that results from their idiocy, not the parents having sex

Right, so attack those separate ideas rather than the ideilogy as a whole. This is not an anti feminism sub, and there is no overlap there, its is counter intuitive to spout antifeminist rhetoric here.

Yeah, I've been through the comments and I don't see a single one that explains how this is anything to do with men's rights. Also, a concern troll is someone who is posing as an ally to undermine the cause. That is not what I'm doing. Nor am I gatekeeping, I am merely attempting to keep the sub on topic. If it hmis not to do with men's rights, it does not belong here, and this is nothing to do with men's rights. Also, stop down voting my comments judt becuase you don't like them, that's not wha…

Why do I need to read the comments when my remark was directed at OP? This is not related to men's rights, it's a horrific story with two women at the center. Exactly where in the murder of these children was a man's rights infringed upon?

Feminism is focused on women's issues, Men's Rights is focused on men's issues. We have a common goal, but we focus on the things that affect us most. It's still about equality, it's just easier to focus on a handful of things rather than trying to do everything at once.
/r/MensRights31/03/19 09:57 AM

Not to worry. And yes, feminists oppose our movement, but opposing theirs just to be be petty is not what we are about

And in a sense they're right, because gender dysphoria is more often than not genetic, so they couldn't choose to have gender dysphoria, but having dysphoria and choosing to live your life as a member of the opposite gender are two different things.
/r/MensRights25/03/19 01:03 PM

Yes, being transgender is a choice, having gender dysphoria is not though. Living your life trans is a way to help cope with gender dysphoria, what's your point?
/r/MensRights25/03/19 09:27 AM

You're wrong on the trans thing. If you present outwardly as a woman, then you're a woman. You cannot self identify as a woman, that's bullshit, and nobody who was born male will ever be female. Gender is performative, it's why we joke about feminine men being like women or dating a masculine woman being like dating a bloke. You can't change your sex, but you can absolutely perform another gender.
/r/MensRights25/03/19 07:41 AM

Yeah because that was just men and women had no part to play in the building of civilisation. Listen to yourself man. I'm not saying her point isn't equally retarded, but we need to be better than them.

I've always found the idea of believing victims to be a dangerous precedent. Like, I understand the sentiment, but believing anyone without evidence is a terrifying concept imo. It's why I oppose the MeToo movement, because they have this backward idea that you must believe wen no matter what, like they don't want to acknowledge the fact that women lie too. I know we need to take emphasis off what they were wearing and whether or not they were alone etc., but we do still need to question whether…

That's bullshit and you know it. The problem is that many rape cases are one person's word against the other's, and to prove your innocence you would have to prove that you actually got positive enthusiastic consent, whereas the accuser only has to prove sexual intercourse took place. Best way to stay safe is not to have sex with people you don't know and trust tbh. Or get them to sign a contract, but that might be a mood killer.

Idk what the law is where you are, but in the UK I'm fairly sure the law that the law still describes rape as "forced penetration with a penis" or something along those lines. Plus people only really pay attention to men who pick up drunk women, rather than the other way round. This isn't the college's opinion of men, they're just trying to cover all their bases to avoid scandal. As a side note though, it is a good idea to steer clear of drunk women full stop tbh, but especially in a sexual sens…

The reason that the only traits that are pushed in male positivity posts are feminine is because generally the only people who are virtue-signally enough to post shit like this are feminists who think that the world would be better off if we were all a bit more like women. Also, I think they're trying to normalise more feminine men, because they have been kinda sidelined in the past and some feminists genuinely judt want everybody to be okay with the things that they like, rather than the things…

I find it ironic that you accuse him of being a "shrieking harpy" when your entire argument is basically "men can be arseholes if they want because women do it too". Aren't we supposed to be better than the women who abuse mens rights? Are we not supposed to be better than the women who think they're entitled to a man's money purely because she let him get down and dirty a few times? I honestly couldn't fathom asking a total stranger to pay for my dinner. Every time I get a girl like this, I ask her if she's going to blow me afterwards, y'know, as a thank you. Weirdly enough they're about as opposed to that as I am to paying for their food.

Stop fucking playing their game for Christ's sake. As soon as you starting claiming women as a while are privileged, you gave up every good argument you made because you're using their rhetoric. We're stored to be better than them, let's show it, yeah? By all means, point out where men have got the short end of the stick but let's also appreciate that there are areas where we do have inherent privileges, just like women do. They're not taking away from the fact that men have done great things, they're pointing out that there has been and still are some men out there who don't treat others with respect, who do excuse other men for sexual harrasment, and who do speak over women. It's not all of us, but it is still too many, and the whole idea of destroying toxic masculinity is something we should be getting on board with because it hurts the good men among us. I really think youre exaggerating how readily women will make false rape accusations for personal gain. OK, a few will take advantage, but does that mean that we shouldn't be offering leniency to those who might actually be genuinely affected? And its not like there won't be repercussions when anyone making false accusations is discovered (like having the marks for the assignments they were behind on set to 0 because of the false pretence?)

Yes, you're right, but at the same time why should a man have to pay the near extortionate rates of child support that they do for a child they never wanted? I don't think it's fair that a woman should get to dictate a man's financial future because she was incapable of making the right decisions for herself and the child. Yes, abortions are traumatic, but they're a damn sight less damaging than raising a child alone. It might seem unfair that women are the ones who have the primary responsibili…

No I completely agree. I think there's far too much division these days and people need to remember that it's okay to disagree, as long as you're basing it on something more than "u dont think wat I fink, so u r bad" we need lawmakers who think differently, but can work together

Presumably there would be some record, electronic or otherwise, of when he the father was notified, which could be cross referenced with when the mother was informed of her pregnancy (bc that shit has to go through a GP). Failing that, the primary responsibility has to fall on the woman in this situation; if she fails to notify him before the 20 week point, I think we could very easily allow a 2 week grace period for the father to sign the papers and get shot of them regardless of whether or not…

A "pre sex form"? That would never work, you're assuming that all sexual encounters are planned out and sober occasions, I think we all know this isn't the case. My suggestion plans for all situations, and treat both sexes as equally as possible.

I like the idea, but here's how I think this should pan out: Man makes it clear he wants nothing to do with the child, Woman gets to have a state funded abortion (because aborting a child is cheaper than paying child benefits out) or carry the child to term with the knowledge that the father wants nothing to do with it. The Woman should be notified of the father's intentions before he signs away his parental responsibilities, but she should not be able to block it. The latest a man should be abl…

If you want to criticise misandry in feminism, great, but you're not helping anyone by making out like the whole feminist movement and all feminists are misandrists, because they're not. Recognise that it is the extreme minorities that give feminism its bad name, and that necessitated a split from egalitarianism (because once they shared the same goals, but now the no longer do). They are the misandrists, they are the ones you should be addressing. I never said feminism was fringe, I said the ex…

It's core roots are actually in equality. Like, women getting the vote and being allowed to go to uni and shit. It's nothing to do with hatred, it's just been warped and a lot of egalitarians think they're feminists.

So fucking address the misandry then. Feminism isn't inherently misandrist, it's the fringe that is. Insulting feminism is not fighting for men's rights, its just being a child

There's no pride in being an incel, they're a disgusting group of misogynistic, self loathing cunts who want to blame literally anyone but themselves for their problems. You can be involuntarily celibate without going incel, they are a group now, an identity.

If you think the best (or only) way to solve anything is a "shooting spree", you need some serious medical help. Being nice isn't an incredible act, it's actually just the baseline. Most normal, well adjusted people don't feel like being "nice" is something they should be rewarded for, but rather it is what is expected of everyone. That is a completely ridiculous statement. I'm against the enslavement of all people, that's why it's a human rights issue, not a mens rights issue.
/r/MensRights16/11/18 07:14 PM

The victim is male, yes, but until we know that the victims gender was the motivation behind his enslavement, this is not a mens rights issue. If you simplify mens rights down to "BAD THING HAPPEN TO MAN, SO MENS RIGHTS", you're going to turns mens rights activism into feminism. It's that what you want?
/r/MensRights16/11/18 06:57 PM

No, my lack of knowledge does not make your assumption correct. How can you prove that he was "chosen" because of his gender? What's more likely? You know as much as I do, and don't pretend otherwise

I think the couple choose someone who wouldn't be missed, simple as that. Not a mens rights issue.
/r/MensRights16/11/18 06:21 PM
-2

No, I think that's dumb too. I'm just saying let's not get confused about why we're here. This is a human rights issue, and to post it on a mens rights sub is misleading, because it looks like the OP is saying that what happened to the victim happened because he was a man, which is not the case.
/r/MensRights16/11/18 03:18 PM
-1

You're being dense. We don't claim every fucking thing as a mens rights issue because there are some things that apply to EVERYONE, regardless of gender. A right to freedom is one of those universal things that we should all agree on. It is not specific to men, so MRAs should be focusing on other things that are, like inequality in family courts, male domestic abuse or inequality in criminal sentencing.
/r/MensRights16/11/18 02:09 PM

I think it's a dig at the culture of the University tbh. But I think you're right, connecting the two stories is really disingenuous and is part of the reason why this movement is not taken seriously. I find the amount of anti SJWs on this sub who use the exact same tactics being hilarious tbh.

I criticise womens bad behaviour all the time, but women acting like shit is nothing to do with men's rights, and the blatant misogyny on this sub is dragging the whole cause down. /r/MensRights29/10/18 10:49 PM

It's objective, not subjective. A men's rights issue would need a man's rights to be violated. There has been no violation of rights here; I didn't decide that, I pointed it out. If this movement wants to make actual progress, we need to understand what our rights are and make sure they're not being violated. If you just want to be bitter and complain about women, go join a MGTOW sub. For quick reference: Men getting a harsher sentence for the same crime = men's rights violation Man gets called …

/r/MensRights29/10/18 04:28 PM

Not a mens rights issue. Nobody is forcing the bloke in the picture to hand over his jacket at gunpoint, so his rights aren't being violated. Societal pressure is not an infringement of your rights, and to claim it makes you just as bad as the feminists I'm sure you all dislike.

I don't think you'll find anyone here who disagrees with that, but we have to take the moral high ground, we cannot stoop to their level, or we're playing their game (and we will lose)
/r/MensRights20/10/18 10:39 AM
1

That wasn't because of the Twitter mob, that was because Ford had the brass balls to accuse him, knowing it had to be looked into. The twitter mob was an auxiliary effort to make a woman's word tantamount to evidence (which failed fairly spectacularly I might add).
/r/MensRights20/10/18 10:38 AM
30

Ford had a GoFundMe page that hit well over $700,000, plus all the media attention. She also couldnt provide a single corroborating witness, and claimed that one of the people she said would vouch for her couldn't give a reliable testimony because of her health issues. Sounds like backtracking to me, why would you call someone as a witness who couldn't give a reliable testimony? Kavanaugh may have lied, granted, but let's not pretend that Ford had nothing to gain.

This post is like four years old, why are you dredging up shit that's already done the rounds? Shit like this is why this sub has a bad reputation.
/r/MensRights18/10/18 03:48 PM

People don't think this sub is misogynistic because "we don't put women on a pedestal", they think that because our members constantly shit talk women, calling them variations on "evil" and "whores". This sub has so much potential, and it's ruined by stupid, bitter people.
/r/MensRights17/10/18 04:02 PM

I'm confused as to how this is anything to do with men's rights. The victim's killer got a life sentence, which is fair, so this is surely more of a "pussy pass" sort of deal? Even then I think you're pushing it though.
/r/MensRights17/10/18 03:58 PM

I think you're talking out of your arse, I've never heard of a man being told to put some clothes on. Stop trying to create a victim narrative, it makes you look like a child.

TheBestGoodUsername made a valid point. The post he was responding to set out to make it seem like the men's domestic violence helpline was only to help abusers, and made no mention of help for victims. Yes, the two helplines should have identical descriptions (changing man for woman where appropriate ofc), but we shouldnt be glossing over the fact that the help does exist.

u/tisdue, nobody is saying that, the claim in the title is that women are making false claims, not that all women make false claims. It's a misleading title, but it's not inaccurate

I'd rather pay for birth control than have to pay for the child that results from a lack of it, wouldn't you? This isn't a men's rights issue, FOH with that.

What constitutes a name, as you seem to be an expert on the subject?

You really need to stop making baseless assertions. How does changing your name indicate ill mental health? Especially when it comes to a public figure.

They're a public personality, can you blame them for not wanting their actual name out there?

This is pretty old, but I believe that at the time the poster was in circulation, there was some weird clause in the rape law that required forced penetration (being that you have to penetrate, rather than be penetrated) in order for it to be called rape. although I could be entirely wrong. Either way, I believe that little clause has been amended now. Still though, this is some bullshit.

Who hurt you dude? Seriously, I feel like there are some deeper issues here. I get what you're trying to say, but all I see when I read this post is an angry guy who needs a release of some kind. Seems like you're frustrated.
