I think some women will be put off by telling them about the LTR too soon. I will take your advice and just be open when the topic comes up. Most girls tend to avoid that topic for awhile anyway, so in most cases I will have already sealed the deal. Hopefully.

You are correct. The SO wants me to be upfront with potential girls. Does that mean I'm sol? She is upfront with guys, but of course that is what a guy would prefer to hear.

I don't understand the giving value question. You show desire for her not value her. Confident individuals give themselves value. Value is more of a thing when you get into a relationship and trust is involved. I do see genuine compliments as something different than value. Semantics...

OP you absolutely did the right thing. You set a personal boundary that was outcome independent of what she thought. You were direct and honest. Being aloof like some people in here suggest is a terrible a childish way to not be a man. I've done this same thing on different occasions and it is all for the better.
