How can you commit defamation against "Jane Doe"? That doesn't make any sense. Nobody can be adversely affected by allegations against a placeholder name. Unless Dershowitz slipped up and mentioned her real name, there is a 0% chance he could have committed defamation.

I hate to split hairs here but the headline of this article is not correct. This new law does not actually establish any criminal law regarding rape, it just says that colleges need to follow these rules in order to secure funding. A male college student would face expulsion from college if he had sex while drunk, he wouldn't be considered a criminal or to have broken any laws. I'm not defending the Cali law by the way, I think it's stupid, I just don't like sensationalist reporting.

There are no hard and fast answers. It depends on where you work, who you hang out with, what kind of background you come from. I personally say what I think on these matters but I have some friends who think the same way. if I didn't, I can see how the pressure to shut up would be very strong.

I think there have been some movements for "male spaces" and things like that. I've heard some stories of men on campus proposing these things and getting a reasonably decent response. But nothing with any real political meaning, or anything like that.

Not necessarily. There's no cap on alimony/child support in the U.S. Some dudes owe millions a year in child support. He could easily have had obligations that would have torn through his remaining funds had he not kept working. I sympathize with women who fear for their safety. Really, I understand where they're coming from, men certainly can be loose cannons. But it's not like men have nothing to fear with women. It's just a straight up lie, a bluff. He posted on an anti-PUA site. Yes, PUA is a men's movement, but not all men's movements are part of MRA.
