I've been doing 5x5 on and off for a couple years. All those compound lifts are good. I have a semi sculpted mid section. People think I do ass loads of crunches and are shocked when I tell them it just comes from compound lifts, I never do crunches or any targeted ab exercises. I wish I would have discovered compound lifts earlier in life.

Planet fitness is a casual gym. Literally no free weights, all machines and cardio, and sometimes they give out free junk food, like pizza. It is cheap though. A good place to start if you are in totally shitty shape. Work out there with all the other slobs for 3-6 months then find a better gym.
