My father was raised that way and was sent to boot camp for smoking pot, and ended up in the military by 18. He wasn't that close to his parents either, and I know that's exactly where it comes from. I just always felt like he would be more disappointed in me if I were to come for him with a problem compared to my mother. Issues sons go to their father too in young adulthood like college age I can say I never had.

I was raised by a man who was my father, but he seemed to have abandoned me during most my adulthood.
