I'm sure it has something to do with who controls the narrative. No married guy is going to openly defend your points, while many single guys may not perceive it, since they don't participate in it.

In their defense, they are producing what people are watching, reading, and listening to. I guess we are the minority.

Aussies, Brits, and I think Kiwis (is that considered derogatory?) say "mate" a lot. Most Americans don't normally. But then again I'm unaware of some of the current trends.

Count me out... I don't know the Yetunde you speak of. Am I correct in assuming your use of "mate" has foreign origins?

Me neither, just living in 'merica, even without watching TV this stuff gets crammed down your throat... My apologies if necessary, just surprised.

Are you saying that a subjective statement doesn't require objective evidence? Interesting... /s Edit: auto correct corrected

So I guess the old adage that "men are dogs" will at least help us against criminals, as long as they aren't female

As a child of divorce, I never met my father until I was an adult. My mom hated him so much and taught her children to do as well. Didn't matter because he had no contact (didn't want it maybe?) But when I was older, 18, I met him, tried on my own to develop my own views and relationship. Your daughter will always want to know who she is and the requires her to know her parents. It may take some time, and it will definitely hurt, but I bet she knows deep down how you feel and wants to keep you i…

Yeah, my wife was reading the original story and I took a five second Google to find this much better article. I figured it would help to make it available for others.

I guess it kinda does, if corrective rape was at all like what I said. I'm more interested in people having an opportunity for a paradigm shift. How can people learn empathy if they don't ever experience anything they aren't familiar with? Go to a bar, get flirted with, say no thank you, have them keep trying. Presto, you now have a person who's experienced an early stage of sexual harassment/assault. This experience may lead them to behave differently in their own life, if they lacked the under…

You're only selective if you have choices, boi boi. I hope you don't enjoy getting compliments from your parents, that would be incestuous, but I guess you would agree that leap is a bit too much? My appreciating a compliment from another man doesn't make me gay, but I'm comfortable enough with myself to live with your interpretation.

I understand what you are saying. I don't think you understand that sexually may not be binary. In your free time check out the following possibility: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale

If we were face to face I'd pour you another coffee. I appreciate the discussion. Some minced words on my part for sure. Let me voice my thoughts in a list then, to keep it clear. -men and women are both capable of assault, and of being assaulted -gay and straight men have no predisposition for rape, whatever caused a person to become a sexual predator is specific to the individual, not to gay men or straight men -men of all persuasions are at greater risk of false accusations in our current soc…

I don't recall suggesting anything of the sort. I couldn't provide stats for a view that I don't believe in nor have I suggested is the case. Please, indicate where I said men are more aggressive.

I've only been to gay clubs a few times. One time a guy forced himself on me and had to be dragged off by my friends. I don't take that to mean gay guys on general are rapey, just that he likely wouldn't have been so forward in a "straight" club. He assumed things because if where we were I suspect. I think those experiences can provide perspective. I think most people understand that no means no.

Haha, I hadn't interpreted it that way, but I see that. I mean that society refers to women as the fairer sex and men are just men. We are hardly ever treated as something innately desirable the way women are. In that sense, it is nice to go somewhere and feel appreciated, desired. I wouldn't call that a fetish.

This is also current legal practice, I'm not calling it right, just accurate.

Policy? I was suggesting that people experience the world and learn from it. I hadn't considered anything I said to mean a requirement. Some people need to eat more veggies, some need to exercise, but do what you like. Some people need to get unsheltered and learn some things, you may be one of those people.

You are right. My apologies for my incomplete statements. Overly aggressive, non hint takers, of either category can be a problem and, statistically, women are believed more by law enforcement despite facts proving them wrong.

It is a refreshing feeling for a straight guy, to feel more universally desired.
/r/MensRights30/10/18 03:31 PM

I think anyone has the capability, but most straight men are particularly uninterested in gay men. Just like straight guys chasing women, gay guys chasing men aren't equal. Some will converse and try to create an opportunity, others assume an opportunity without any indicators. This isn't a gay or straight issue. Gay guys aren't, I assume, any more prone to being rapists, pedophiles, racist, or any other form of bigotry than straight guys.

Sadly, alcohol, and other chemicals, have a way of undoing a lot of simple wisdom, have all the date rate that involved both parties being incapacitated. One can't consent legally, but the other (the accused) can't even process the social cues that could be construed as "no", "not right now", or "yes, but when I'm sober enough to enjoy and remember".

The real question

I agree with you, but to clarify, as a straight man that has been to gay bars, I think comprehension and awareness go deeper when you have actually had someone try to force you past no. A straight man dealing with an overly aggressive female might take the easy lay. A straight man dealing with an overly aggressive gay guy has to literally fend off someone unwilling to accept no. This hits home that "no means no" much better than just "in this day and age" wisdom.

That is astounding. My wife and I have had a joint account since marriage, and I have been the single income the whole time. Recently she and had an argument over my ~$20/month audible subscription ($240/yr). I looked through the account at the hair appointments and manicures, when I showed her that in 3 months she had spent more than a whole year of audible by a factor of 3, she acted like it didn't matter cause audiobooks are stupid. I have since started diverting funds so I don't get ridicule…
