His UK shows, I'd argue, give a more accurate portrayal of his personality. The one trait that I look up to him the most for having is his ability to learn sufficiently and effectively. He majored in engineering, but had to teach himself much of the science required to launch companies like Tesla and SpaceX. And that takes enormous effort. He embodies all the traits that I believe a developed, mature man should have: a ruthless work ethic, aversion to bullshit, insatiable curiosity, a lifelong passion, measured empathy, realistic optimism, and so on. Watch any of his earlier shows, notably "F Word" and the UK "Kitchen Nightmares", and you'll see why he's been influential for me. There is a whole world of educational games, puzzles, programming challenges, etc, that I definitely see value in. But the games you see millions playing and watching others play on Twitch are absolutely mindless. I am a huge fan of battlebots and programming games.
