You’re not alone, I hate people going through my personal stuff as well, and I also have nothing to hide. People have different personalities and different preferences regarding privacy. The ideal situation for people like us is a relationship where you can both trust each other and not invade each others privacy like that. Just understand that some couples are different and that arrangement isn’t best for everyone

I think this is more about relationship dynamics than it is about who is bringing home what amount of money. Even speaking about purely material things, I bet your future man will be able to provide in important ways. Does he hunt? Let him put food on the table. Does he do woodworking? Let him make you a cabinet. There are worse problems than making too much money. You’ll be able to sort it out.

Male perspective: ask yourself what timeline you think is ideal, and then ask yourself what timeline you would be willing to accept. Let your boyfriend know both of these things so that he understands your perspective. This will let you relax and experience the present moment with him. Believe it or not, there may come a time when you look back fondly on these days before you became a mom. Enjoy the process. Make memories. Then if your date passes with no ring, you have your answer. Time to spli…

Male perspective: men really do value personality over looks, but this is only true above a certain threshold of looks. It’s also the case that legit 10s will intimidate a lot of guys (just like your favorite male movie star would intimidate a lot of women). I wouldn’t over analyze it, sometimes 2 people just click.

You shouldn’t lie to your family if they outright ask a question about your beliefs, but you also shouldn’t volunteer any information that you think would cause trouble. Just love them and bond with them on other things. In the meantime, I think you should make some likeminded friends so you don’t feel as isolated.

If he were truly a high value man, and truly wanted a harem, he would have made this clear early on, and faced your decision then.

You don’t have to volunteer the information if he doesn’t ask, but if you straight up lied, your relationship might be already doomed. There are no good paths forward from here, the best thing you can do is to come clean and explain that you lied, and that you still don’t feel comfortable talking about such things because you find it shameful. Hopefully he will understand and respect your honesty. If you leave this unaddressed, you’re planting a time bomb that will go off at some point. Best wis…

Like any relationship, it’ll work out great if you have good chemistry and shared values. A 13 year age gap is not that crazy - probably no one here would bat an eye at a 28 year old woman with a 41 year old man. I think what most posters are concerned about is the fact the at you’re still in your teens and may have some maturing left to do.

If these men were truly traditional, they would care about their ethnocultural group and they would want their people to survive and prosper. In reality, these men have been unsuccessful in dating and have been sold the lie that it’s because their women are somehow defective.

Imo a 10 year age gap is nothing. No one will think it’s weird when you’re 81 and he’s 91. The real question is: are there other good reasons that you or your loved ones have to be concerned about him? People may have an intuition about him but not know how to put it into words exactly.

There’s only one good outcome here, and that’s for you to make this trip with your husband and have a wonderful time. So put every other scenario out of your head - this is what you are going to make happen. You need to sell him on this. Have you told him personal stories about your friend? Does he feel like he knows her? Paint the picture. Does he know anything about the countries you’d be visiting? Maybe he would love some aspect of that place. Have you been able to get an idea of why he’s opp…

https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-17512040 This article is from 2012 but the principle remains true today, just with slightly different numbers. Speaking from a global perspective, with an annual salary of $50k+, OP’s hubby is an elite income earner, and this is more than enough to raise a large healthy family, even in a HCOL state. They just can’t update their smartphones annually, take a loan to drive a 50k SUV, etc. Most people are terrible at personal finance and have been trained to become …

He might simply be a great guy who is being influenced by the wrong people. I haven’t seen much of his stuff, but Andrew Tate seems to be garbage. “Mens rights” types are exactly the same as feminists: seething, bitter losers who never got over some bad breakup or other traumatic event. Any type of boys vs girls mentality is fake and gay. Traditional healthy human living means playing on a team - and everyone has an important role on that team.

Speaking as a man, I also consider this to be the correct way to approach a first date: the woman demonstrates that she is classy by expecting to pay her share, and the man demonstrates that he is classy by not allowing her to. It’s a bit different when you’re young and a bit different when you’ve been dating a while.

I would be more worried if you did have a big conflict! You’re not supposed to fight 😄

I hate when men comment in this sub; this my first time doing so. I just couldn’t resist saying that there are plenty of great guys who will not bat an eye at your age. If you want to have a few kids, then it’s a problem to be 50 - not 30. Unless you’re trying to go full Mormon mode and found a new town with your progeny, you’re good to go.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
