About 10 years ago I had another bench, all wood that I had put together, wife at the time was with me when picking out the stain and poly to use. What should have been a 2 minute selection, took what seemed hours. This time around it was a simple 'click, add to cart' and a zip in and outa Home Depot for the polyurethane!

Don't see many by the creek, but in the meadow along the woods edge, there are a few milk snakes, nothing venomous here though. Plenty of deer since I border along a county park and high tension line easement, deer use the park as refuge and the easement as a freeway to the local cornfields.

Managed to keep the property thru two divorces. We get steelhead runs in the spring and kings in the fall. Fish come up here about 10 miles from Lake Ontario. Plenty of natural Browns and rainbows year round, the county stocks it too. Check my post history for a pic of a nice one from this Spring.

The whole bench was just $69 with free shipping. Made pretty well, too, ends are cast iron and thickly ‘painted’. I used my $15 Harbor Freight spay gun to go over it all with some Minwax Helmsman urethane. Don’t even need a book down here, watching the trout and wildlife is pretty darn nice.
