I'm not saying it makes it any better, like I said, that was something I did not take into account during my initial thought process. I'm not saying that as a man gets older, it is less traumatic then a rape. I was asking questions to help me understand the comparison between the two. At the end of the day, I think you and I agree both are something unwanted and should not happen.

Of course that would not make it any better, and that is a variable to a rape situation that would affect memory. I was thinking in generalities and not specifics.

I suppose I was thinking about it in terms of memories, that most babies probably would not remember being circumcised where as rape victims would carry memories of the rape. I realize it's not sound logic, and that's why I'm here asking questions.

Very interesting! I'm still a little confused as to how this compares to rape, but I have a much better understanding of where you're coming from. Thank you for replying.

I am not a man so obviously I have no idea about what circumcision really means to the individual, but I wanted to discuss. How do you suppose that "as bad as rape is" it can be overcome but not feel the same way about circumcision? Why do you think a circumcised penis has any part of divorce and infidelity? Do you remember being circumcised? My husband is circumcised and we have a great sex life. I don't feel like I'm having sex with less of a man or that our bond (sexual or other) is fractured…

If a woman feels she is not getting something she needs, then she should put on her big girl panties and be woman enough to talk about what she needs. If she chooses not to, that is on her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
