Question: “how are you single?” My answer: “by choice.” Then I know that the person who asked this is not worth my time. If it’s a date or a potential suitor, immediate stop right there. If it’s a friend, I’ll stop engaging in relationship talk, I’ll stop sharing anything related to my dating life.

I think another important part of FDS being not private is that many women find their way to FDS casually: a peek here and there until they begin to wake up. I had trouble diving in head first when I first encountered FDS because it was so jarring to societal conditioning. Remaining open will help those casual pickme lurkers in beginning their questioning and learning journey.

Not a super direct answer for you, but can hopefully lead you somewhere: the podcast Women’s Liberation Radio News has lots of RadFem news stories and interviews and may be a good launchpad to find others. I’m just starting to dive in too.

Totally agree with this 👏 And the moment a man tries to tell you what to do with your life block & delete.

I’m 30 and I get this all the time! I didn’t think anything of it until you said this. But yes, that as very strange. I think you’re right that it’s very much ingrained from patriarchy that women at 30+ have “hit the wall.” I think the strangest thing to me is that I regularly get told this by women. I don’t remember a man saying to me “you look young for yourself age,” it’s always women. This is crazy that after turning 30 I’m supposed to look a certain age?

You are ruminating on your idea of him, not who he actually is. The person you think he is does not exist. You need to detach his person from the one in your head. This was my downfall too. I’ll share a skill that has helped me. You need to separate fact from fiction. When you find yourself having dreams of him, stop and ask yourself what is fact and what have you made up. This will help you see him for what he is and not the story you created for him. This is a continuous practice. Each time a …

You’re not starting over; you’re starting from experience. You have a very good blueprint of the things you do not want in your life. This is important because you can continually reference your experiences and choose new ones. I rebuilt through therapy, making myself a priority, and focusing on school and work. Do things that add to your life. It is a long road and it takes time and effort but it is so worth it to make your life all about your goals, wants, and dreams. Sure there’s days of sadn…

I’ve been asked this and my go-to response now is “by choice.” And that’s it. No further explanation needed.

Today marks one year to the day that I went no contact with an emotionally abusive, narc LVM. I remember because it’s my HV parent’s wedding anniversary. I saw them at 35 years of HV marriage and I knew I wasn’t in a relationship like that. In the past year: I moved back home to be closer to family and friends (after he isolated me across the country). I started a masters program (that he told me I was too dumb to get in to). I got a job in my field to gain experience. I went to therapy. I lost …

They key is that NOTHING a man does or doesn’t do has any affect on your value as a person and woman. Your value is inherently yours. No one ease has any say in that.

No. You should read the wiki and handbook. But here’s the definition of HVM from the wiki: High-Value Male (HVM) - A man that is respectful, loyal and faithful. He loves to show his woman that he can provide - he pays for dates and a relatively higher proportion of expenses in the relationship. A man that is confident, consistent and reliable. These type of men take care of their body, face and physical appearance. HVMs care about their partner's happiness and sexual pleasure. The HVM exhibits t…

They can attempt to define our worth with pay. But remember #LetGoOFMaleValidation2021 they do not define your worth. You do.

Yes! Especially your last point. If a man has $1000 dollars in his pocket and the option between a $200 hooker or a $20 hooker. Which is he going to go for? The $200 one! Because the $200 won’t really hurt his wallet and if the hooker is more expensive, then she must be higher quality and better than the $20 one. This is why you date men who are financially secure and you always expect them to pay on dates.

Asking is okay, depending on how you have interacted so far. If you are caught off guard by the ask, red flag. If you’ve been mutually flirting, green flag. And it’s okay to say no. How he responds to you if you say no is a big tell. If he is aggressive/sad/ any negative emotion that’s a red flag. Acceptance is a green flag.

Agreed! I know that I can be decisive and considerate, as can most women that I know, so dates like this are how a man proves he can take others into account while making things enjoyable for all.

I like this idea, but part of the "carry cash" thought is that you always have enough cash to cover your dinner. So if he pulls anything funny with the check, you can drop your cash, get up, and walk away.

JD Vance is LVM. He’s profiting off this story that uses Appalachian people’s woes and poverty, that he never even experienced to launch him into a conservative political career. Please do not waste your time on him or Hillbilly Elegy. There are a million other, better Appalachian stories from ACTUAL Appalachians out there. He says in his story that poor people are poor by choice and does not look at societal and systemic issues that contribute to poverty. Here’s an Appalachian woman’s view on J…
