You sound like you’re trying to justify your decision..The cold hard truth is that given what you’ve said you’re gonna fuck your kiss life up pretty hard.

If she’s willing to try, if I were you I’d give it a go. Your about enter the fucked world of custody battles, child support and spousal maintenance. Shes a SAHM, say goodbye to your wage and your retirement. Further to this how do you feel about another bloke being around to raise your daughter? Just something to think about.

I hate to say this but brother I can guarantee there’s someone else involved here. It’s always the same bullshit hey. One thing that’s never different with women initiating divorce that seems sudden, they have a plan mate.

There someone she’s already seeing. Guaranteed they will discussing every detail of you and it’ll be rewritten as though your the worst husband on the planet. If that’s the case, don’t stress, I’ve already taken this title 😉. Don’t engage at all with her, you’ll be gaslight and it’ll drive you insane.

So did I mate, it became my identity, everything I did was around either financially or physically supporting the kids and her. I think you’ll find most of the guys on here did, that’s why we’re here. Like you said your not perfect, no one is. But at least you have integrity and a moral compass to know how wrong she is. Just please get ready bro, hang in there and don’t be hard on yourself.

Same to you brother, the pain is off the charts. This chat will get you through this, I promise. Bro they are all the same, they all say and do the same shit. When my shit went down I refused to believe there was someone else involved until the kids started talking about mums new work friend, then I did some digging and the shock of betrayal is like being hit by a train. The happiness, again is standard with them. When she first said she wanted to seperate, my mind immediately went to the kids a…

Be prepared to be gaslight that your the worst husband on earth to you and others. Don’t buy it and don’t react at all. it gives them more justification. She needs to justify blowing up her kids lives to everyone and they can’t handle ppl not agreeing with them. It’ll get worse before it’s gets better. My experience, the most painful part was her introducing the kids to POS within two weeks. Now they holiday together with all my ex in-laws who rug sweep like it’s all normal. Only advice I got is…

Your affair made you realise all of this. Dunno mate. You got kids with her - I 100% disagree with you. You are also cheating on your kids. Just my opinion.

I spiralled out of control, don’t do that, you can’t do anything about it. Just be the normal sane parent.

Mate, please don’t be surprised if you find out she’s got an EA or PA going on, most likely a coworker. What your describing is exactly the same as my and so many blokes other stories, I thought no way she’d step outside the bounds of vows, she’s not like that ect… if there is a piece of the puzzle missing, namely her motive, then it’s not missing, you just don’t know about it.

This sounds pretty textbook and can almost guarantee she’ll be either cheating or have a guy lined up (so she lye to herself and anyone else) that she wasn’t cheating. Nothing you can do about it brother. Stay strong.

That resinated with me hey. Its like the house lost its soul or something. It’s funny when this first happened, I dreaded having the kids over, cos all I could think about was her living a semi kid free lifestyle and fucking this piece of shit (he’s a lot younger and left his pregnant wife to be with her), now I can’t wait for them to get here. It definitely time for me to stop moaning, get away from all booze and hit the gym and get back into the sports I used to enjoy.

You know what fucks me up a little, my ex literally cried daily to have kids with me. 2 yrs goes by and she hates me and apparently I’ve always been a shit husband.

Mate this meeting is a waste of time. Even you did it and she agreed on the terms of each item mentioned, as soon as she changes her mind, she won’t stick to it.

Got very close, didn’t stop thinking about for around a month. Kids got me through. Nearly 10 months on and feeling so much better, not 100%, or anywhere close, but nowhere near those dark days. If anyone is reading this and in that space, don’t do it, it gets better, life goes on, you will smile and laugh again and forget about your current situation for longer and longer periods.
