Books I have read at least twice and I keep coming back for refresher are: Rational Male Unplugged Alpha Way of the superior male I got the most value out of NMMNG and subtle art of not giving a fuck. I disagree with your goal of being a 5% male. It sounds good, but it's such a ephemeral goal. There is no way to measure it (which means you'll tire of the grind before ever feeling successful). Add in the fact that intellect is only a single facet of the final cut gem. I understand the mindset that is pushing you toward that goal. Disconnecting from that goal might be a move. Speaking as an engineer. I also agree with your first paragraph. Start with simple things you know you can make perfect and constantly push your experience outwards. If your results don't look correct, take apart and try again. Many of the projects I've completed are only finished because the results were not to my standard and I continued to mess with them until I met my expectations.
