Some others have mentioned, but a lot of women want a guy with ambition. That often doesn't need to be financial. I earn enough. I just want to know my partner is striving to be their best.

Probably 80+%, 90% if you include women that want a guy that is capable of earning. I've tried to date guys with money and find it rarely works. I do really like smart and driven guys I can admire and respect enough to want to support them.

I wouldn't say "these days", it has always been common for people to chase superficial traits. But there are those that don't. Also deeper love is possible but of course rare. It takes 2 healthy people and a lot of work.

So not a guy, but I know many women that can smell it when a guy is trying to take a girl home and it can seal the deal for it to not happen unless you are particularly hot and the girl is naive. I absolutely hated dating for decades. Also was rarely single. Anytime I was dating I was trying to get into something asap to get off the market. I realize had I had more self respect and if I could have really learned to love myself, my friends and what I was doing with my life, dating would have been more fun because I wouldn't have invested too much and felt so shitty if the date didn't work out. I also may not have been as inclined to pick other broken guys. Being broken makes you gravitate…

Lol you won't win immature women like this, but maybe the ones that aren't broken and wife material.

Your friend has it wrong. You shouldn't be cold and harsh, but mystery is a bonus on both sides. People like a little challenge. My boyfriend made it clear he was attracted to me right away but didn't get clingy. Even as open as he was I ran off once worried I would hurt him because he may be falling for me too fast. Tables are turned now and I'm worried I'm too into him, but we got there because he was confident, stable, supportive, trustworthy and someone I wanted to hang out with. Enjoy havin…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
