Any story about this will be just anecdotal, because there is no official position. But I will say this, having gone with my high school girlfriend to get one, yes, they tried to talk her out of it. It happens, a lot. Especially in the more religious, and conservative parts of the country, if you can find a provider in the first place.

If they don't have anything to fight against, their organization doesn't exist. They are professional lobbyists. I compare these types of groups to snake oil salesmen or evangelicals. Real, honest change isn't in the books because it makes them obsolete. End of story. The sad part is, they are good at their jobs.

Not eradicating, embracing. When we embrace our flaws, only then can we move to take the power out of the stigma. This has proved to be true in a lot of modern forms, such as drugs, sex education, etc....
