The problem is that false rape accusations actually hurt the case for actual rape claims. By throwing a veil of skepticism about every rape claim because of all these false accusations, the credibility of any claim is diminished. If there is no adequate punishment for false rape claims, then people will continue to make them, ruining people's lives and discrediting the actual rape victims.

I honestly think that people who intentionally decide to falsely claim rape should be sentenced to twice what the accused would have been sentenced to. They went out of their way to try to ruin someone's life for no good reason, so theirs deserves worse.
