Not saying she is because I don’t believe in the notion of soul mates. She certainly has the characteristics I want in a girl I give time to though.

I’m dating the next closest thing: Only one past BF Not a virgin but only has had sex with him (super conservative upbringing) debt-free, in fact she earns six figures super attractive, petite, feminine no tattoos They’re out there, but really really rare. Good luck lads.

Don’t use this as AWALT because it sounds like you banged a chick who is a 3/10 at best from your description and destined to be a barista for rest of her life.

Thanks, definitely just have to move forward. I don't consider myself hung up on her but I do realize the friendship may be holding me back. Will be traveling to Norway, London, Paris - can't fucking wait

Thanks bro, filed away under things I needed to hear.

Man, likely a lot of truth in this. So if this the case that I was being used, is it better to go out saying nothing to her about it? And just never text her first / only respond when she talks to me first?

Appreciate the feedback, lots of good points.

I agree in principle that you can't build attraction from text from the bottom up. But can you amplify it if it was already there on some level? Absolutely. This girl always glances and smiles at me in class (like glances at me every minute or two), and while possibly to my detriment I always respond quick to her texts, I'm confident and mix it up and she enjoys texting with me on some level to want to keep doing it and laughing at the funny shit I say. My days don't revolve around texting her b…

Slippery slope, if she is initiating a lot of those times what am I supposed to do?

So you're saying my fuck up was way before this?

Word, I use " ;) " more than " :) " the latter just feels weird as fuck to me, and it probably weirded her out. Even worse is the actual smile emojis, the only ones I tend to use are the cocky ones or the laughing ones. Nonetheless I agree with you about adding some color in moderation to otherwise bland texting.

It takes minimal effort; it's not like these stories are 20 minute clips, they are 3-5 seconds long and maybe she puts up one every other day. To open the app in the first place takes 1 second. I agree with you that it probably works counter to whatever game I'm trying to run, but nobody is fucking this girl right now. Not me, not anyone, and that is 100% fact so I don't know how snapchat plays into any of that.

This is all very helpful. What are some ways I can telegraph intent, or are you just saying with respect to the snapchat stories still open hers up pretty quickly?

All great things I could have said in the moment. Very solid, wish I had been thinking on my toes but like I said, I didn't see this one coming at all. Still somewhat confused what her motive was in saying it to me in the first place.

I will throw out a caveat - she didn't say it in a bitchy way, if anything maybe she was trying to be playful about it? English wasn't her first language (raised in a different culture) so you can never completely be sure with her. Later that night she put up another story and then I opened it in pretty early just to show I wasn't going to change immediately based on what she said. I understand your bigger point, but isn't it somewhat weak-willed to act in a reactive sense (i.e. ignoring her sto…

Very interesting insight. I'm inclined to agree with you on both A. and B. because I feel like she is definitely attracted to me; she is just an extremely conservative girl (only one boyfriend so far in life). You're right I could have said something better, but I was kind of shocked she noted this, and can't tell why she would have brought this up even if part of her motive was to just be playful. What do you mean by she will follow whatever move I make?

Well spoken, I agree with that. As for what I said, one of the girls mentioned something about her ex-bf being from my hometown. A minute later I turned to the girl I thought said it (not the hottest one I was most interested in who had a lot of my attention) and asked if she had been to my city. She looked puzzled at first, and asked for clarification, and I told her I was wondering because she dated someone from there (I was not drunk but definitely had been drinking a lot and their outfits ma…

I've been there done that too many times, so at this point I'm more thrilled by a challenge. I know what you mean though. My main priority was just enjoying time out with my buddies; my personal "goal" was not so much a goal but more of what it would take for me to have a 10/10 night. I still had a damn great time so it's all good.

Probably true. My instincts even told me I had a finite window of time until jealousy/insecurity made that girl act and try to take her friend away from me, but I didn't take any pre-emptive action (in this case, establishing a way to contact the girl I was with later). First and last time I ever leave my phone behind, even if I'm in a different country.

How so? If you're referring to me, I'm an American in a foreign country and I offended a girl there - there's a time and place to right your wrong in case you are perceived as rude due to the prevalence of cultural stereotypes that can shoot you in the foot. As for the "giving of fucks", you can interpret what you want but I promise you my lesson is valuable so I gave it to help people not make that error, not because I'm losing sleep over the situation. Weak analysis at best.

I was dancing with her in the middle of the club enjoying myself so that's not really practical. The whole point of the lesson I learned is that I didn't realize how valuable my phone is until I reflected on it and realized I could have made it happen for myself later if I had just gotten her number.

I am glad you are receptive to it. That's a good question, I mean, in a lot of ways it was good that you stood your ground. I think the worst way someone can respond in a situation like that is by allowing the other guy to dictate the terms. At the same time, I think it is also bad to go to the other extreme (e.g. "What are you going to do about it, bitch?"). You never want to put yourself in the crosshairs like that for two reasons: a) it's almost never worth it, and b) you never know if the ot…

You telling him "I'll leave when I'm ready to" was pretty wannabe alpha too. That's sounds like you puffed out your chest and tried to start shit with him. If you are creating adversaries in your journey to becoming a better man, you're doing it way wrong. Real alphas command the respect of all those around them and aren't targets for everyday bullshit. You referring to him as her "bf" in front of her was a pretty weak comment as well. You could have accomplished way more had you just told her "…

I just laugh to myself thinking some guy in the world is going to try to marry that used up bag one day.
