That happened to me too! He used pictures I took of him IN CRAIGSLIST ADS as a chubby chaser. I was financially dependent, like an idiot, so I couldn't leave right away but I did and he texted me for a YEAR AND A HALF after we broke up.

Yeah a tiered system like this sets you up for failure. "This behavior is a orange flag, I should wait around for him to explain himself" (read: waste my time/string me along/manipulate me into sticking around) Either his behavior is acceptable and you spend time with him, or it's unacceptable and you drop him.

What's a red flag for you may not be a red flag for others, yes. but I am afraid that developing a mental spectrum of flag colors is making room for accepting/excusing poor behavior. Our time is too precious to spend it digging for a reason WHY their behavior isn't great.

Yeah, this thread is does not seem to align with FDS. The concept of digging deeper into these sorta/kinda deal breakers sounds like making excuses for poor behavior with extra steps. The other comments here have just listed plain red flags and would be plenty of reason to block and move on, no further digging needed.

The first guy I ever met from OLD, I was so excited to meet. We texted a lot from when we matched to when we met. The chemistry wasn't there as soon as he stepped out of the car. Highly disappointing, never texted line that with anyone ever again. It's too easy to be fooled via texting!

Yeah the "I'm going to..." line he's feeding her indicates to me that he's not worth the wait. If he wanted to cut his mom off, he would. Same thing for making more the minimum payments, refinancing, etc. It's been 16 years since those cards were opened. If he truly wanted to tackle his debt, it wouldn't take a conversation with his SO when he's in his mid-30s to start.

That's a good point - I've definitely been guilty of that when I was younger! Too old for that nonsense now. I block with pride and have for years!! 👸👸👸

Blocking gives me such power. I love doing it. I've been ruthlessly blocking since I ever did OLD. Keep practicing, it gets easier ❤️❤️

I think she probably runs a giant organization and can't possibly remember every single persons name?? Like she's been doing this for years and there's been probably thousands of volunteers at this point. Why on Earth would she know every single persons name?? They are volunteers, not employees. Even if they were employees, she is probably not in charge of every single detail of employment. She's the founder, not the HR person.

Absolutely. A bottle of wine and 2 whiskeys each night is unquestionably not ok!

Thank you so much for the reminder. Unfortunately we still live together and it's easy to imagine a future where he does change and everything is great but I know in my heart of hearts, he will not change. He may fake it for a year, maybe 2, maybe 5 but eventually it will all come crumbling down. He'll resent me for "asking too much" and I'll resent him for not doing enough. He's shown his hand. This is how he is.

Does anyone else feel literally sick thinking about the effort they put into their LVM, just to realize he's a man child? I broke up with my LVM recently, thanks to this sub. I nearly threw up today, just thinking about how he was such a child. Like how were my standards so low? Do I like child-like people? He was on the phone with his mother, working out details for his new place and she's just telling him what to do. He has no idea. He'll never have any idea. He'll never grow up because there'…

I broke up with my LV boyfriend this weekend and I feel such peace. I joined this sub months ago and I knew it would spell trouble for our relationship but I never unsubbed. It just hit me last week that I was done. Going to level up now!!

I have paraguard too....my periods eventually reduced in flow after a year or so? Which is objectively horrible I know. 12 years of BC for $600 seemed like a deal at the time. Sending good vibes your way, I remember those days and they sucked

You're not silly at all. I feel the same way about hormonal birth control, I refused to take it. Hormones are SO powerful, they dictate so much of human behavior and society expects us to take them willy nilly so dudes can not use condoms?? You are smart, ignore anyone who makes you feel otherwise!!

I got the paraguard in 2012 (copper IUD) when I was in college and I had HORRIBLE cramps and periods for months afterwards. I went back to the planned Parenthood a couple times after insertion with my concerns and they were very dismissive 😓 Eventually things leveled out and I still have it, but my God. You're right to put it in terms of years and not months because it was some B U L L S H I T

I would tell myself - "I'll just look tomorrow" and then when tomorrow came, I would say it again "I'll just look tomorrow". Worked for months and I got over it!

I went home for Christmas break during college and met a man that gave me all the right signs. After I went back to school, he would make the drive from my hometown to my college town to see me every weekend. I met his parents on Valentine's Day and then he GHOSTED ME. It was only a 7 week relationship at that point, but it did hurt. Meeting the parents means SHIT.

I have tried to bring this up before on dates and I can't believe how men will argue with me. I tell them, "what if I was in the room when this guy I thought was hot was having sex and I watched?" And they all say that's Not Ok™ but if I compare that to them also watching a girl they think is hot having sex, suddenly it's "not the same" They literally don't see these women as human. It's not the same to them because they view porn as just their fantasy and not real people. When you make it "real…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
