The weekend we became "official", which was about 2 months after we met and 3 weeks after it became clear that we were interested in each other as "more than friends." We both had been single and abstinent/celibate/whatever you want to call it for awhile, we knew we really liked each other, we talked about it ahead of time and he got tested beforehand.

Even though I feel like my face looks ~5 years older, thankfully the rest of me looks ~5 years younger (knock on wood). No stretch marks, no cellulite, very little sagging, not-fat hourglass figure. I could easily pass for early 20s in a bikini with my face cropped out of the photo, lol. I do think moisturizing is a good habit to get into, though.

Thanks. Yes, even though I am married, I'd like to try to keep my looks close to what my husband first met. I know aging is inevitable, but that doesn't mean I need to be 100% complacent about my looks.

I've heard of "wife goggles" before, but didn't know the science behind it. I'll have to look up more about vasopressin. Even if my husband isn't put off by the wrinkles, I'd still like to try to look my best for him.

People who are older than me tend to think I am a couple years younger than I am, but people younger than me regularly guess that I'm in my 30s. It doesn't help that my husband is older than me (early 30s) and has an absolute baby face. People regularly think he's not old enough to drink. I really do hope this is reversible! I actually started to make some progress on the fine lines by switching to Cetaphil, but then I noticed the wrinkle. It's like one step forward, two steps back.

My daily BB cream has sunscreen in it, so I should be covered on that end. I've been hesitant to use any moisturizers more intense than the BB cream due to prior breakouts, so that might be something that needs to change.

I definitely have a lot to learn about skincare and my changing skin. I always had oily, acne-prone skin when I was growing up and now my skin is more dry. From what I've read online, it sounds like my wrinkles are probably due to overuse of acne products that dried my skin out for a decade and a bad habit of scrunching my eyebrows together whenever I'm confused, stressed, can't see very well, etc. I've already bought frownies to help with the second issue, but do need to figure out a better ski…

I'm going to differ from the other commenters and say that maybe it is okay that you don't want children right now. Your husband is 5 years older than you, he is at a time in his life where it is normal and expected to be a father. At 26, you are still young compared the average pregnant, married woman (single moms tend to be younger). I think the other commenters bring up good points about youth and vitality in pregnancy being important, but you will still be young in a year or two. One of the …

Making him his lunch to take to work and including a cute little note. :) I recommend learning about your partner's love language and catering to it. My husband scored highly on physical touch (like most men), words of affirmation, and acts of service. The sandwich and the note fulfill the last two of those.

For most of my life, I definitely based a lot of my worth on looks... and it worked. Men said I was pretty, compared me to famous people, and I felt validated. A few months ago, I noticed my first fine line - husband didn't notice, doesn't show up in pics, I'm sure no one else notices yet - but it caused a minor identity crisis for me. I felt ugly and old and YOLO all at the same time, acutely aware of my lessening value and my own mortality. It was hard to deal with, all over a tiny wrinkle. Ov…

Yes. From what you've said, he just doesn't sound that interested in you. While I agree childhood trauma can impact relationships, that really doesn't sound like a the case here. Focus your mind on finishing school. After you're done with school, you should hopefully be over this and ready to date again.

I think that usually guys that say they can't get married due to their career are using it as an excuse (exceptions for young students and the unemployed). Men generally see in increase in their earnings and career success after getting married (unlike women), so for a man to not get married due to his career is counterintuitive.

Stop angsting over this stuff. None of this is happening yet. Instead of worrying about a whole bunch of "ifs" just focus on your relationship right now, being the best partner, and getting to the engagement and marriage stage. Don't take it for granted, you don't have it yet, and even when you do have it, it will take work to maintain. Also, your wedding and future family life should be what you and your future husband want it to be. You two will be the ones who have to live it. Appreciate the …

I think anytime between 23-29 is the ideal range for marriage. Younger than 23 and 1 or both parties are still figuring out how to be an adult. Women's fertility starts dropping at age 30 and the chance for birth defects starts increasing after 35, so if babies are a future goal, I think it's best to get married and have some time to settle down before a woman hits her 30s. However, I think women should start being marriage-minded before 23. Many, many women meet Mr. Right in college and wait un…

Married, here were my minimum requirements: Career that supports at least a middle class lifestyle. Educated - at least a Bachelor's degree, or if not formally educated, valuable skills and an intellectual understanding of the world. Kind. Loyal, unlikely to cheat. Attractive. Marriage minded. Emotional attachment/falling in love. They felt the same way about me.

Everyone's looks will fade, you've acknowledged this. Marriage isn't all about looks. That's not to say you should completely stop caring about your looks and become a lazy slob, but there's only so much that can be done to stop the aging process. I'm a little bit younger than you, but I can tell you about some of the things my husband says to me. While my husband does find me physically attractive, he compliments me about my personality way more than my looks. He consistently reminds me that he…

Looks has very little to do with meeting a well-off man. I'll be honest, I don't know any millionaires, but of the upper middle class married or LTR guys I know (own their home or live in a luxury apartment, take international vacations, eat out as much as they want within reason, etc.), their wives/girlfriends have these traits in common: Willing to contribute to household finances. Whether she is making six figures or just working as a secretary, they want their woman to be willing to contribu…

Have you tried talking to him about this? Not in a nagging, judging, complaining way, but just in a direct, observational, inquisitive way. For example, you could ask him - "I notice that you don't often initiate physical touch. This surprised me? Is this comething you don't like to do or is there another reason?" The catch is, once he gives you his answer, you'll just need to accept it, at least for awhile. It might be something you decide you guys need to figure out a compromise about, but I w…

Oh gosh, yes, no better way than ultimatums to ruin a good thing! I agree with the internal timer. I will say that I also followed your "no moving in" rule with my husband. I actually do substantially recommend that rule (despite popular perceptions) for exactly the reasons that you listed, along with (from personal experience from prior relationships) the fact that guys tend to take girls for granted after moving in, along with letting the glow wear off. Obviously the glow wears off at some poi…

20 is not old. You probably have lots of friends that are also still virgins at your age. The thing is, people don't talk about being virgins, but non-virgins do tend to talk about their sexual escapades. So, you just hear about them more. Edited to add: If a guy makes you feel "shameful" for being a virgin, he's probably not the right guy for you.

This reminds me of my husband when we first met not exactly the same as he was not a virgin, but he had only been with 1 other girl before and he was only with her for like 3 weeks. He was a shy, nerdy, late bloomer who didn't really blossom until his mid-20s. Now he is early 30s, successful, fairly attractive. Honestly, it didn't really have much of an impact on our relationship. I felt a little weird at first because I had slept with a few more people then him, but it didn't bother him at all,…

Guys do value women related to sex, though. Most place a higher value on women with fewer sexual partners. They may also value a women who is really good at sex.

That comment was in regards to starting our relationship. Yes, I prompted starting a relationship with him when I realized that I didn't want to lose him to someone else and yes it took feeling jealous to make me realize that. However, a whole lot happens between the time when two people first enter a relationship and when they get married. I think valuing his commitment is a positive thing and that it really does place him above other guys. When people talk about hypergamy, they often talk abou…

I think this could be helpful advice, but that it doesn't really apply to my situation. His concern is not related to a lack of sexual interest, but rather to what we do with the interest after it arises.

Sex isn't so much the goal as orgasm is I definitely think this is where I was making the mistake. I figured he would be unsatisfied with anything less than that, and so I tried to minimize the time spent on those activities, wrongly thinking that would increase his satisfaction. Hopefully other people can learn from this situation and not make the same mistake!

Thank you! That's a good point you bring up about making sure you don't also present the solution with the problem. I feel like, so far, I've only brought up things that I couldn't think of a solution for myself. I will have to remember this part for the future!

Thanks! I don't want to leave, I'm not the type of girl who believes divorce is the answer (barring very extreme circumstances, of course). You are right that I am like this in a lot of other aspects of my life. I think about what I could have done better a lot - i.e. I didn't perform well enough in school or I should have been more outgoing instead of generally being nervous and shy when I was younger. I would always just not say anything when the bill arrived. The guy always paid. No questions asked. If I guy would have asked me to split it, I would have. I did it mostly to create value - men like things they have to chase, not things that are easy. If a man is paying for you, it shows he thinks you have value. If he doesn't want to spend his money on you, he obviously doesn't value you that much.

Honestly, I don't know. I mean, he is very obviously not gay, but no, he hasn't gone to a doctor about it. We've both just assumed it is just something that some guys go through. I've purposefully been a bit vague because is it feels a little bit weird to me going into details about it, since I know it's not something he would talk about with anyone outside of me. I know it's not an uncommon problem and is usually related to performance anxiety, which is why I've tried to reduce the impact of th…

Honestly, I try to point it out to him when I think other women are checking him out, because I find it attractive when they do. I enjoy being with someone that other women desire. I even send him pictures of other women to see if he finds them attractive so I know what to focus on making attractive about myself. This is the one thing that I do not get. I really don't think his bedroom problems have anything to do with me.

To give a little more details, the way we got together is fairly unique, I think. He started out as a beta orbiter - when I met him, he was probably around a 6. I, admittedly, liked the attention. He is who I would talk to after bad or hilarious dates. We were flirty and he stroked my ego. He was always there. He opened up to me about emotional trauma in his past. Then he got hotter. He started working out, learned how to dress better, got a better haircut, and started getting attention from oth…

He is an amazing man and I know the fault lies in me with this issue. I'm the one who said yes. Im the one who was okay with moving so fast, but now I look book and think that I said yes for the wrong reasons. I have trouble separating my feelings. How am I supposed to fix the issues in the bedroom? I've tried to be supportive, but I feel like there's nothing else I can really do at this point. He's point blank told me he feels lucky to be with me because he thinks most women would have left by this point. I just say that its okay and how he treats me out of the bedroom is way more important than how he performs in it. I know a big part of it is probably jealousy on my part. Why did they pick some other girl instead of me? With one of the guys I can look and say, okay, I am prettier than her, but I have to admit their personalities are more compatible. With another guy, I just wonder what he sees in her. Breaking up is not an option, we said some vows and yadda yadda yadda. I'm mostly insecure because I wonder if I married him for the wrong reasons, if I just settled because I was so happy to be getting married. Then I try to knock myself out of it because he is amazing and so many girls would want to be in my shoes. He has a good career, is decent looking, and loves me to the moon and back. Honestly, I think it's becoming a more an more common mindset. I know plenty of guys who balk at the idea of having a SAHM for a wife. I guess it's important to keep in mind, though, that many of these guys also feel "neutral" about children. Why have a wife at home to clean when a housekeeper is cheaper and does a better job? I've definitely encountered the idea of a wife's career as trophy status. Of course, it's generally not the reason the guy married her, but I think it is having an increas…

I started doing one extra beauty step each day - just something small. for example, one day I might use a pore refining mask, then the next day I'll do a nail treatment, then the next day I'll do a lip exfoliation treatment, etc. It helps keep my daily routine short, while still adding a great benefit to my looks.

I'm still new to RPW, but as a FORMER BPD, I had to chime in, and that's right, I said FORMER. In fact, the vast majority of women diagnosed with BPD go on to live normal, happy lives after defeating their negative patterns of thought. That is one of the great things about borderline - it is not for life, it is not hormonal, it is not caused by biological misfirings in your body - it is simply negative patterns of thought that can be changed. I have been reading and lurking there and I get that this comment is based on hypergamey - which is a concept I do agree with for the most part. I just don't agree that women will necessarily cheat on their husbands. Some women will cheat on their husbands, some won't. All women will be tempted by hypergamy, but I don't think all will act on it. Just like all men will be tempted by a cute 19 year old, but not all men will act on their temptations. It makes sense to always have a back-up plan because it is really hard to trust anybody ever. Women screen men too, but you are right, no one can ever be 100% certain. However, I think both the man and the woman in a relationship need to trust each other not to cheat - if someone constantly assumes their partner is going to cheat on them, it can really add a sense of negativity, pointlessness, and/or hopelessness to the relationship... Which in turn leads to a bad or unpleasant relationship. Be …

I've started lurking TRP and this is one of the most mind-boggling theories I've seen on there. There are women who absolutely will not cheat. A guy just needs to raise his standards to find her. Perhaps only beta men will put up with such crappy women?

I think the AF/BB theory is more about female urges, than female actions. Are there women who act on these urges? Yes. Are there women who don't act on these urges? Yes. For a comparison - I am in my mid-twenties and I, deep down, want a baby. I've wanted a baby for a few years now. However, I don't have a baby. Even though other women's children make me smile and I will occasionally get a little teary-eyed seeing an especially cute family out at the park or eating at a restaraunt, I know better…

I agree. Quality men definitely care about being frugal - with a big distinction between frugal and cheap. I am definitely the deal-finder in our relationship and his mom regularly points out that our similar financial beliefs will really help us maintain our relationship. As for tips - I only buy stuff when it is on sale or I have a coupon, preferably both, with the only exception being groceries. Even with groceries, I try to build weekly menus around sale items whenever feasible.

Considering 1 out of every 2 people will get HPV in their lifetime and 1 out of every 4 people will get genital herpes in their lifetime (in the US), I think the chance of the guy catching a STI would be pretty high with a partner count way below the millions.

In all honesty, I don't think it would bother me at any age. For example, I'd place a 30-year old virgin who only recently gained confidence with women over a 30-year old "reformed" player with a large number of women under his belt. Also, I feel like most older virgin guys are virgins for a reason aside from lack of success with women, for example, religious reasons or other conscious choices to remain celibate, and I applaud their self-control. They were both men capable of commitment who had a few LTRs in the past, but liked to sleep around between relationships. I found that immensely unattractive. You should be his main source of an ego boost, though. Don't let another woman take that away from you. The reason I'm so adamant about this is that I had an ex who left me for one of his coworkers. At first, I played it cool - I didn't want to be the nagging girlfriend, he could hang out with whoever he wanted. There could be a couple things going on - he might want to provoke you into jealousy. He's showing off that he is attractive to other women. Ultimately, he is probably attracted to her. This doesn't mean he will necessarily cheat on you. Just make sure you have what this girl has, and a little extra to boot. Let him do things for you, be vulnerable with him (like she is). The best move is not to bring her up - simply outdo her.

Yes, it does. It also helps you maintain an hourglass figure. I'm predisposed to an hourglass figure, but recently gained some weight. I'm in the process of losing said weight, but I know losing weight can sometime's alter a person's figure. By wearing a corset (I prefer the waist cincher style) I can make sure that I'm losing weight in my my tummy, while still maintaining big breasts and curvy hips. Okay, so please take this as a newbie question. When is/isn't it okay to turn down sex? From what OP is saying, it sounds like she only said no to a blowjob once. I agree that it is important to say yes to your partner the majority of the time. However, I think saying no has its place sometimes - it's not fun for either party if one partner clearly is uncomfortable.

I'm new too! I do a have a suggestion regarding your posture, though - you might want to look into getting a corset. I bought my first one a couple months ago and it does wonders for posture! Wow, way to get defensive! This was my first post here and just an honest, genuine question. I wasn't looking for a debate - just trying to get some answers and figure out how to classify my beliefs. I do know some people in real life who think women should not work. It seems like everyone I know is on one extreme or the other extreme - either very feminist and liberal or very conservative, religious, and believes a woman's place is in the home.
