I'm also a med student. I have come to the conclusion that only lifestyle specialties: Plastic surgery, dermatology, etc are the way to go. The entire medical school culture is blue pill and the only time I fake empathy anymore is when I'm graded on interactions with standardized patients

Hey man, I love this post. I'm Chinese American. I also am trying to figure out how to spin plates. I'm the same way. I would like to read a good explanation for this. The whole American "faux-humbleness" disgusts me. Most people are lazy and lack initiative so it's easier for the masses to hate one person who has risen above than to reflect upon their inadequacies and improve.
