Gay men by definition don't prioritize their lives around the wants/needs of women & live extremely andro-centric lives. In a gyno-centric world that can be mistaken for misogyny in & of itself, but what they're actually bothered by is the realization of a lack of control/power they have over gay men.

I'm a gay guy with opinions that fit both camps depending on the issue, so a centrist. A pox on both of the extremes' houses IMO, when you get to the radical sides of either end you see them want to define men in a box that suits their needs to our detriment. I definitely skew right on men's issues but with the major caveat of being gay which can make it a paradoxical fit.

This is a big reason you see so many gay guys in men's rights groups like this sub. You'd be shocked how much worse it can be as a gay guy around women who consider you to 'not count'. I honestly couldn't even begin to try to detail how many insane things I've heard, including admitting privately they don't believe accusations of other women they know -- their own friends -- but still publicly support the accusations anyway.

Not that I support the way things are AT ALL & I definitely support this for criminal charges but technically for civil lawsuits like this you can countersue for defamation of character & the financial punishment can actually be incurred on the accuser. It's very hard to get a jury to take a man's side let alone do something like that because doing it makes the man look bad to them. US here -- You can sue someone for (allegedly) raping you or literally anything else you clam someone did & seek emotional and or physical damages even if there aren't any associated criminal charges for it. Or even if there are & the person was found not guilty.

I'm 5'5" & the only realistic issue you bring up is attracting a mate, but I'm gay so it's never been a problem. My husband is 6'5". I feel bad for short straight guys tho.

The cost to his reputation has been, well...catastrophic. I'm in the Neil Gaiman sub as I love his books/comics & since the accusations came out you literally can't post or comment anything positive about him anymore. It's essentially turned into the 'anti' Neil Gaiman sub. Plenty of gay guys play into it for lots of reasons, but I've never been one of them. It's often very telling & interesting, though, what women will say to/in front of a gay guy. As if our sexual interests somehow stop us from being men entirely & misandry just doesn't count against us. Some gay guys don't mind it, but to me it just adds insult to injury.

As a gay guy, women have the tendency to automatically treat us as 'one of the girls' (which is, frankly, its own problem that drives me nuts), and anyone doubting misandry isn't a problem among women when they're alone doesn't spend very much time alone around women. For all the complaints out there about boys' "locker room talk", women most definitely have their own version & it can often be much more misandrist & ruthless than people will remotely acknowledge.
