Just chiming in to agree with you both. Elder millenial here, I didn't get it from my parents and my mother did warn me that if I had a child, to be prepared to raise it myself even if I was married. Both of my grandfathers were abusive cheaters. My father was decent but emotionally unavailable and my parents were married but I was invisible to my dad and even though he came back, he abandoned us for a few years as a way to emotionally blackmail my mom. I was conditioned by culture and disney mo…

That's why I used the qualifier "reasonably intelligent". They know how not to over do it ...they turn up that attention dial just enough to stand out but not scare a woman off. Some men are very smart and have access to the same internet we do and know that overt love bombing is a red flag.

Love bombing and genuine interest can look exactly the same from a reasonably intelligent man. What do you think happens when the love bombing stops?

When you have to repeat yourself about how you like to be treated it's a problem. Example: my ex, well into his 30s, kept openly flirting with college girls in bathing suits on instagram. I'm not going to address that behavior more than once. He should go be with who he wants which was clearly not me.

Why would they be forthcoming? When those stories hit the news in the case of teachers (if they're reasonably attractive) the response is a chorus of men saying "where was she when I was 14?" and "why didn't I have a teacher like that?". Meanwhile some of those CHILDREN are on the hook for child support. I'm a mother of a son and I'd be in jail if a teacher of either gender did that to my child.

When I said agenda, I should have been more clear. I meant men that want to f*ck and nothing more. I don't consider a man who wants to get to know me for a potential relationship as having an agenda although it is one. If that guy had started talking about wrestling or nascar, I would have kept it pushing. The thing about the hobbies and interests is that we have something in common, so when those chaos factors align just right, you find your person. I was not out looking, that was the universe …

I went for a walk yesterday and on the way home I noticed the tree surgeon was here, which is awesome bc Iove watching them swinging around 150 ft in the air with chainsaws like it's nothing. I approached him bc I had a question about the work he was doing in our complex and it turned into a genuine conversation, partly bc trees are my niche hyperfixation (I'm literally reading a 600 pg book on pollarding (pruning) and I don't know a single person irl who would be interested in that. The thing I liked about that video is the contrast between the two men and their values. Sometimes I feel like an interloper on this thread bc as a woman, my experience is obviously different, but I spent so much time in the old pre-quarantine/clean-up RP sub, I've been exposed to way more than what's healthy. I wish this sub had like a sibling sub that could serve as a support group for those who've lost or are losing their loved ones to this. There are so many of us but the world at large stil…

I just want to say I'm sorry. I've got one in his mid 20's and this is a club no woman wants to be in. Especially since I've been dealing with this going on a decade now and NOBODY in our family believed me so they reinforced it -my DAD told him women are gold diggers even though EVERY woman in his family worked and when he was single he had no gold 🙃. There's an interview with Cam Newton (yuck, i know) and Jason Wilson that might be helpful. Nobody is going to accuse Mr. Wilson of being a beta …

Welp, I'm a decade in. If/when he comes out the other side, I'll let you know. I've done everything I could possibly think of to no avail but I'm a 'female', so why would he listen to me? I hope you have better luck than I've had. I truly feel for you. I grieve every single day for the person I lost. I agree with everything you said. Exposing myself to this stuff has changed me. I think more men carry these beliefs (even if subconsciously) than anyone who deals with them would want to admit. I tried to enlist the help of a man in my family to help the younger one. His response: "women who are overweight ARE unattractive and women who are in abusive situations need to take responsibility." I mentioned we share some similar experiences. I'm glad you're doing this. I'm a woman who only interacted by way of combing through forums and content and asking questions bc I was trying to save a family member. I failed. I did manage to poison myself bc I spent so much time reading toxic sludge. When I tried to explain RP to a therapist, he had no idea what I was talking about. Ppl who aren't terminally online (especially mothers of young boys) are unaware and there is really no guidance or support for families other than cult deprogramme…

Bullet proof? Yes, that's the only way. We share a similar past and I have a family member who's RP'ed. When I first realized it, I spent forever on the RP sub seeking understanding (this was before the purge/clean up/quarantine), it was ugly and horrible but I understand it now. There is no choice a woman can make that's acceptable to them. Wanna be a stay at home mom? ...you're a gold digger looking for a beta to mine for resources and exploit. This was before RP blew up but my grampa was a raging bigot. At one point he said something super egregious and I walked out of the kitchen. Came back later and he wanted to talk about school so I sat down and calmly told him that if I knew something I said would hurt or offend him, I would not say it and I told him I didn't understand why he didn't have the same respect for me. I think because my premise was "I respect you" it disarmed him. He NEVER did it again. If he doesn't realize he's hurt…

The short answer is learning to read by guessing and osmosis with a lack of emphasis on phonemic decoding. because a man doesn't have to be conventionally attractive to the rest of the world to be the perfect person for us. When my bestie found her husband she said to me "i don't know if you'll hink he's cute". He was a heavier guy, but when I met him I told her "No, i get it. He's adorable. Beautiful eyes. Charming. I was asked for an example of dehumanization. I'm not going to defend it. I don't think men grasp the scale of the problem if it's something they'd never do. That's good, don't stop being that good person, but just bc you would never doesn't mean everyone is like you. Monsters walk among us and if you think of all the guys you've known (depending on your age) I'd put money on you knowing someone who you wouldn't put it past them.

I would agree with most if that. I don't know how many women expect a stranger to protect them, but I'd love to hear from other women. There's a reason I carry. Depending on where you live, it's likely easier to get a permit than you think if your record's clean, ladies. I live in a super blue state and it was a piece of cake. Right, because historically women have held all the power. Sorry, I forgot. All our fault. Go find where I minimize men's issues (not the way they treat us, how society treats them) you won't find it bc I don't believe it. -I think all men should be paid a living wage. -I'm against the draft. -I'm against circumsism. -I think it's unfair for the man to be expected to be the sole breadwinner (there's some caveats there esp. when kids are involved -but the idea that a woman is too delicate to work…

Historically it has been men sending men with less political power to war, so yeah I'm definately blaming those men for that. The thought of sending your 17 yr old son to die for nothing terrifies any sane mother (and father I'd imagine, but sane is the key word -my dad kept saying "maybe the military..." Have I ever tried to conceive? No. But when I was younger I'd end up pregnant if a dude looked at me funny and I used protection religiously. I always lied about being on the pill, said I wasn't so I could insist on a condom to their dismay. Yeah.. amazing what a mother will do if she sees her son traveling down a path she fears will lead to a feedback loop that's going to confirm his bias that women are worthless whores. Don't worry he's on his own now, in his goon cave that he only leaves for food and an occasional shower, no job, no prospects, and his grandparents footing the bill and they're old. No, it pushes them to lead women on (spin plates) and withhold commitment, while teaching young men they deserve a virgin bikini model who will not make THEM wait for sex, which begs the question how/why they are still virgin bikini models. I think it was the same kind if brainwashing RP dudes go through, i just came away with a way different mindset (no less toxic, just avoidant as opposed to hostile or hateful ..mostly just sad and disappointed that that's what so many men think -the things my family members said had me picking my jaw up off the floor and i think that's part…

Yes, I have (although I don't think 'let' is the right word -I'm not his mother), in fact the last man I was in a commited relationship with used to spend the night at a female friend's house when he'd fly in on the nights I had my son because trust is actually a thing in some relationships.

Have you ever looked up the actual stats on sexual partners for both men and women? ...because spoiler: the median for sexually active adults between the ages of 25-49 is 4.3 for women and 6.3 for men per the CDC from 2015-2019. And for the highest body counts (15+) 12.9% of women had more than 15 partners and 28.3% of men had. Perhaps Pareto needs to check his math bc that's not a rounding error.

Breaking news: some women like to go out dancing. That's why you will sometimes see circles of women dancing together and when men try to join in, the elbows come out and start to get a bit pokey. But hey, maybe you're right, standing around for half a day watching dudes hit little balls into cups sounds delightful.

That's nonsense. When I was in my early 20s my bestie was married and went through a phase where we were going out every week (she got pregnant and married very young and felt she missed out). There was not one single time where our night did not end back at her house and they're still married.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 07:47 AM

You seem nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 06:57 AM

And if you look at my other responses on this thread, I am tall for a woman and I do not consider 5'8 short. I only realized other ppl do when i started reading RP, which is crazy to me bc never, not once have ANY of my friends told me height was a deal breaker and I'm not young. I've heard a LOT of reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 01:47 AM

Then what was your point tying together his height and the fact that we are not together?

So is all physical attraction just silly and superficial? ..bc if men and women can't be friends (not my belief) then what do you consider valid in terms of catching someone's attention (especially a stranger) in order to get to know someone better?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/24 12:33 AM

If that's true, because that's what I have been reading from the RP guys for years, why aren't more men in the responses choosing the 6'5 and single mom? ...considering life circumstances are mutable but final height is static (without major surgery).

5'9, he's my best friend. I literally spent 4 hrs on the phone with him today. He was the one who didn't want a serious relationship damn near a decade ago. If he wasn't My Favorite Ex, I wouldn't have loaned him 5 figures for his business. This is purple pill, do we believe men and women can be 'just friends' here? ...or does that belong in the smurfy blue realm?

You don't think someone making $50k a year would feel a significant difference from an extra $500/mo? 25% of americans have no money in emergency savings and last i checked over a third couldn't cover a $400 emergency. ...and I know this is a bit of a tangent but as an accounting and finance nerd, I'm looking at 12% over time and that has the potential for a significant difference in quality of life. I'm not minimizing the effects of a broken home, but I'm also not going to minimize what 12% of …

No, it's not, especially when the average woman is like 5'4. That's why I asked the question, because height seems to be such an intense focus and I really don't understand why. I am roughly as tall as the average man barefoot and it's never been an issue for me, so I don't get it ...but I only have my personal experience and that's different for everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 03:43 AM

That's not entirely true. Height, weight, and attractiveness all influence how people treat you and, imo more importantly, how much you get paid. Some researchers think those factors are indicative of a more stable and healthy early life and that's what creates that bias: https://www.forbes.com/sites/traversmark/2020/04/16/your-height-has-a-big-impact-on-your-salary-new-research-seeks-to-understand-why/

Do I? I said the parents were short. I used that height bc the 2 longest and most meaningful relationships I've had were with guys around that height but the way RP frames it, it's the end of the world and makes men undateable. That has not been my personal experience AT ALL ...and I'm super tall for a woman, 6'2 in heels.

So a woman told you straight up that it's too sensitive down there (it's a real thing) and instead of respecting that she's being honest and saving you wasted time and energy to try to bring about something that is not going to happen, and if you don't stop has the potential to make her feel like you took the fine side of a cheese grater to her lady bits (speakiing from experience) that makes her selfish? It is SUCH a mystery why women fake it. Never with you of course.

A strong woman can handle "weakness" I was with someone when i was young who would have been considered weak by a lot of men because he was emotional and insecure. Being emotional brought us closer together. I felt he knew the real me and I didn't have to fake it bc we both knew neither one of us was perfect. Him being insecure tore us apart because he threw it all on me and accused me of cheating CONSTANTLY ...even accusing me of sneaking out of his window. Fix your trust issues or you're going…

Pigeonholing either into narrow roles that may not suit them is a weakness for both.

A prenup could have protected him and still allowed her to receive survivor benefits. Do you think men are the only ones who have assets to protect? I ask this as someone who owns her home outright (bought and paid for by working -NOT serial divorce rape) so in most of my relationships I was the one who was in the stronger financial position.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/21 01:36 AM

True. That's why it's really important to be able to distinguish between contemptible behavior and a contemptible person. Most couples can survive contemptible behavior if they're willing to work together to improve the problem. If your starting point is that your partner is a contemptible person, not worthy of respect, that relationship is doomed from the get.

Red pill also requires a level of contempt for women and contempt is a relationship killer. It shows up in subtle ways but most people still notice eventually.

From what I've read it's a combination of factors. Social conditioning and wanting to be liked and people please or avoid social or work penalties means women are less aggressive RE: compensation, the persistent albeit outdated and false bias that means men are seen as more deserving of raises bc they are seen as breadwinners (fathers returning to work after the birth if a kid are rewarded, moms are penalized), and overall women's labor is just not considered as valuable as mens both within the …

It refers to both. The gender discrepancy within a field but also professions dominated by women tending to be paid less and as women enter male dominated fields pay goes down: https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/20/upshot/as-women-take-over-a-male-dominated-field-the-pay-drops.html

Is it the usage of the word indoctrinate that bothers you? ...because that word is a bit loaded, or is there more to it than that? I think in this context it's used to convey that the tradwife thing is a more of a worldview than an insular opinion that someone can compartmentalize.
/r/ExRedPill17/09/21 04:05 AM

Not that I've come across but for me that's probably bc I focused more on reading through threads to get a better understanding of the whole thing. I don't know how old or online your family members are but I think for ppl who aren't extremely online the whole concept is easy to dismiss as nbd as opposed to the all encompassing worldview that it can be become (I still think you should talk to them). I can only speak to my experience, but it has had an extremely negative effect on my family that …

I think both of those would be really beneficial. I hope you're feeling a bit better from when you posted earlier. This process (and life in general) is probably going to have moments that are going to make you want to revert to those old ways of thinking but don't give in to that. It will be worth it even if it's hard. It might be hard to find a therapist that understands rp beliefs (that was my experience) ...keep looking. I wish you all the best :)

Do you think it might be beneficial to spend some time talking to or being around female family members since the romantic dynamic/game is a non issue? It might help to undo some of the conditioning that I'm guessing has probably soured your opinion of women generally, if you've been exposed to the same stuff I have. You're already a step ahead if they don't know and you haven't poisoned those relationships. Sometimes those attitudes can be communicated in very subtle ways though so you might wa…

I don't know what your relationships might be like with any female family members you may have but I am desperately hoping that my rp family member has the realization you have had. All it would take from him in our situation is the acknowledgement of how painful the last few years have been and a willingness to get help and I would do anything in my power to help him heal. If you have any relationships like this, I would encourage you to reach out and acknowledge the hurt and let them know you'…

i hate to give him views but do you have any clear examples that you can point me to? these people have a very firm grip on one of my young family members and the rest of my family doesn't believe me because "How bad could it be?" Apparently referring to women like me as subhuman scum and a degenerate landwhale (among other things) isn't enough proof. They won't read what i try to show them, maybe if i pop on a video and they actually see it they'll believe me. (if it's something you have to go …

Yes. I don't know if age and introversion play a part, but I suspect they do. Not because of "the wall" but more because I'm no longer embarrased to admit that I'd rather read a book or spend time in the garden than do things that other people might consider more exciting. I'm in my 30s and when i was younger my friends/boyfriends didn't seem to understand or respect that. We exist, I don't think were highly visible though, so the bad news is that we're probably harder to find.

Victoria's Secret is a special case. Their quality went down, their prices went up, they were linked to Jeff Epstein through Les Wexner, and their head marketing genius, Ed Razek, told Vogue that they sell a fantasy that doesn't include plus size or trans women (which I think a lot of women who read it generalized to anyone who didnt fit the ideal they presented). They also discontinued a bunch of signature scents which didn't just disappoint, but angered customers. Any of those alone would harm…
