That's so lovely of him and you. I hope your friend is totally recovered. My best friend is also a HVM and it completely blown my mind (and still does). I know it's rare but they exist and I also can't stop comparting other men to him and thinking ...nah xD

I'll piggyback this comment to say that a vast majority of those "good men" (no cheating, no sexual / mental abuse as "I'm a good man") that benefit from our fear, still protect the ones that they know do that to women. I'm yet to see a man tell me about a friend / male peer that was abusive towards a woman when I'm so used to hear women tell they have been abused. How is possible that with all that abuse NO MAN know another man who did that?

Ok I just saved this comment to re-read it once in a while. Amazing analysis and as everytime I have read this subreddit, a hit of clarity. Thank you for this!

This is very useful to protect ourselves. Maybe this could be added to the FDS Wiki / Resources? Thank you so much.

Fuck, I never thought I'd say this to anyone but S A M E. 3 women (without kids fortunately) from day one. All of us feel something was off and all of us decided to ignore it until one of them was like: I'm not gonna talk to him anymore and I was like ok I'll check his phone (few months after she stopped talking to him). I told the one that was still being laugh at and the one that decided to stop talking for her to know that her intuition was right all the time and my ex tried to convince me ot…

Hi ladies! I found this woman that does amazing embroidery art, I liked specially the series about red flags. I wanted to share it as I think she shares some values we have here.

Literally uhg! I'd be embarrassed if I was him of people knowing I do that. How he even has time to look at all those people's pics? For your mental sanity, block him from your life.

Somehow those same harmful men we try to avoid are the ones that take it as a direct attack. It's mental.

Oh my god I'm so sorry this happened to you. What a dirty pig. You did amazing saying goodbye, that goodbye means a life free of that disgusting animal. Please, block him and save yourself of lame pathetic excuses, my ex even said to me "I didn't sleep with her, it was lockdown and couldn't sleep at her place because was forbidden". It was insulting. Of course he did, without condoms, lots of times and she confirmed it to me. The worst is the insult to our intelligence thinking we'd buy those st…

Hi! For me it's more like I like to have little dates, kinda like meeting for going to do something or have dinner then everyone goes to do their things. Our plan was mostly: going to a bar to drink, going home to watch something, spend the night, then bye so it was an awful year of "weekly dates". I'm very extroverted. Do you think that's related wanting to going out more than once a week? I do go out with my friends regularly without having a boyfriend. (Well, now that we're in a lockdown I do…

In my opinion, even not planning to date at the moment, I don't mind which career / education level (within reasonable expectations). If the career they choose / want to pursue is something unreal, not well planned or doesn't act on it is a no go for me. About education level, I don't mind about actual titles if they are eager.

In my home country we don't change our lastname for the husband's one and we give one of each to children. The whole idea of refusing my lastname for a guy that I married to seems mental. About the children, I do agree with comments here that they should have the mother's lastname as it seems obvious who is giving birth and I don't understand why the father's lastname is the one that is used and the mother's one gets lost in the oblivion.

They so coward and scared to be alone because they're nothing. One day I'll write here how I made friends with those lovely ladies he was cheating on with and we confronted him. Best sisterhood moment.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but happy it ended. Had an ex that used me like that (scheduling me in once a week) for a year! Then he wanted to get more serious and discovered he was cheating the whole time. He just wanted it to be monogamous on my side. This page is amazing to get over the million of LVM like the ones they crossed our ways.

Hi! Same story here, almost 35 and men shaped my life and ended up with LVM one after the other. First time in my life single and couldn't enjoy more how much I'm growing. Reading you is an example! Thanks so much!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
