The exception does not disprove the rule.

There is a very real flip-side to this situation in which the man who's developed feelings for the woman he's had a meaningful connection with through their friendship now realizes he's "only good for friendship". Then there's the added injury of getting a front row seat to watch the woman you care for falling for someone else which is why it's usually the best course of action to part ways. Are there men who only become friends in the hopes of getting something more from women? Absolutely. Just…

You know what’s interesting? When I was younger, I was certain that if a boyfriend/husband ever cheated on me, that relationship would instantly be over. I could not imagine how any self-respecting woman could forgive such a discretion. Fortunately, my husband hasn’t cheated, but the funny thing is, if he did, I honestly would do my best to work through it and stay together. The reason i mention this is not because I changed my mind about cheating, but because I have learned that certain relatio…

This 100%... I score as 100% introverted on my MBTI, but when someone shows a little interest, I'll almost always engage with them enthusiastically. I can't speak for everyone obviously, but introversion and social anxiety rarely mean that a person wants to be left alone, rather they only want to interact with people who are going to be receptive to them.

I'd say you're right about it being more healthy, but I still stand by my assertion that information has a tendency to come out sooner or later. You are 12 years into what might be a 50 year or more marriage... That leaves a very long time ahead of you where something might come out and no one could ever say for certain that it won't happen. You could run into an attractive ex while out with your husband and it could instill some insecurity in him (no one is immune to the possibility except mayb…

I'm sure there are plenty of relationships that end this way, but there are definitely some that still progress into full disclosure in the hopes of saving what has been built. After all, we can't just assume that these questions are being popped right away... Its just as likely that they come up after months or even years as the result of something triggering the insecurity. Imagine a hypothetical for a second: You've been in a happy relationship with someone for a couple of years and then you …

"I personally haven't experienced this so it must not happen at all". Your husband is secure and that's great, but there are plenty of people who aren't, especially among those that lean toward the redpill. I'm simply making the point that histories can and do come out so blue leaning people maybe shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility.

Feeling entitled to the same treatment is a separate issue, my point was simply that blue leaning people are probably too quick to dismiss the possibility that such histories are revealed.

That's fair, though I think my second point is still valid, especially here on PPD. The people who post these hypotheticals are almost always redpillers or at least red leaning and given the general expectation that they have little or no experience with women, it's not hard to believe that they would feel insecure and press any girlfriend they manage to get for information about their history. It's also not hard to believe that said girlfriend might care about them enough to oblige. So in the e…

Perhaps, but you still can't categorically dismiss the possibility because it does happen at least sometimes. I'd even go so far as to say it would me more likely with redpill / blackpill types as they will be less experienced and more insecure, leading to the aforementioned questioning.

Take some time to look through r/retroactivejealousy. It's not hard to find stories there where women (and men too) either try to self-report their past to their partner in the hopes that it won't blow up in their faces (spoiler alert: it usually does anyway), or truthfully answer questions posed by their partner who is insecure. Obviously the insecurity and R-OCD that leads to those blow-ups is a mental health issue that would need to be treated, but the fact remains that information about the …

Ok, but it still seems like you're saying that physical attractiveness counts as a deeper, internal trait rather than a superficial, external trait. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding you? ETA: Unless you're using "inward" in you post to mean "general"? (i.e. The people you're attracted to all have the same general list of traits)

"Good looking" is an inward trait?
