I'm a woman and I very much fear pain

Ofc it's a thing, but that doesn't mean they can get what they want. So they either become femcels or aim lower. It's the same as basement dwelling overweight neck beards wanting a feminine fit woman.

A lot of people are also just downright insecure. I wasn't the clubbing type of girl and don't dress like a hoe (barely even dress out of my PJs working from home) and still my ex found things to be insecure about. Like when I had a gaming buddy who was a literal high schooler (when we were well into our 20's) or when I mentioned I wanted to start going to the gym.

In my experience, the key is that they should have social media, but they should be rather inactive on it.

I think one thing you can do (in terms of dating) is to not fall too quickly so you don't feel like you're restraining yourself. With a HVM, he will appreciate and reciprocate, but let him prove his worth first.

Then tell yourself this: whoever initiates the date pays. Then proceed to never initiate dates because you don't have to. The truth is dick is abundant and thus cheap. Go on any OLD site and you'll see men outnumber women by so many. They have to swipe right on 99% of the people just to get a few matches, while women can swipe on <5% of the people with a 80+% match rate.

I think it's more of a don't fall in love with just your feeling but for the way he treats you. Of course a man can claim to love you but still treat you like shit -- don't love him. Love the one who showers you with love, care, and respect. Edit to add: in a lot of the posts in this sub, you see girls being finally blocking someone who's a LVM and how it was hard but they feel better now, or girls being unsure if the guy they've been going out with that they really like is a HVM or not etc. Ima…

I agree that being a forever gf is bad, but touting an absolute timeline (1.5 years without an engagement ring MAX) can be harmful to a lot of people in this sub, especially those who are college-aged. Just yesterday I saw a post on a 20 year old talking about her engagement, and a lot of the comments were saying that her relationship sounds like there are a lot of red flags. For most people, their early 20s are not the time they should be getting married, it is a time for growth and self-discov…

I have male friends that I've known for a very long time. And I have had a handful of male friends that I have shared a room with, and even a bed with, even after a night of drinking, and nothing happened. I've even shared a bed with my ex, who remained a close friend of mine after we broke up, because I needed a place to crash the night, and nothing happened. That said, I still wouldn't do the same when I'm in a relationship. That's a basic level of respect in a relationship.

We can't get mad at men for saying women are meant to be homemakers and/or not doing enough housework and then conversely push stuff like that.

Where I grew up this is such a common want. A lot of women just want to be a housewife to a rich husband because they think it's easier than working. My own mom says that my neighbor's wife and cousin are lucky because they gets to be stay at home moms. My sister would also absolutely dig this idea if it was financially viable. Of course, where I grew up, the common alternative if you worked is to be a working house wife, which is even worse.

There are men like that! My ex used to pack snacks everytime we went on a trip.

To be fair, a lot of these are scams. They'll do things like say they will give you x amount but you have to buy gift cards/Bitcoin etc. Or that they need your online banking password to bank in the money.

In my experience the clinic always asks you to come in, even if it is to tell you negative results.

This post is extremely black and white. There's definitely a difference between cooking sometimes like on special occasions, taking turns to cook if you live together or just splitting chores in a way that cooking is your chore, and having to carry the burden of making sure there's dinner on the table. My dad is an example of the latter. Even after he retired and basically watched TV all day (and do his list of 4 chores), my mom was still the one carrying the emotional labour of running the hous…

Frugality and cheapskateness aren't the same thing. I've kinda had the opposite experience of frugality while dating. One guys would always bring me to pricier restaurants (for our standards as college students) and tip 25-30% or so. He wasn't from a rich family or anything and paid with his part time job money, while also taking student loans out. Another guy would just not have a good budget and would just spend on whatever. He made decent money but was 5 figures in credit card debt from havin…

You're a HVW, which means someday you might be in a position where people might want to blackmail you. Let's go with the assumption that your partner is a HVM and will never do anything compromising to your photos. But if it's on a device, it's probably clouded. If it's clouded it's not safe. That said, also cover your laptop cameras when you're not using it.

Possibly an unpopular opinion here, but I think that a HVM will be a HVM no matter what. That said, I tend to fall in love with my mind and not my heart. I tend to agree to be in relationships because the men pursuing me treat me well (according to some standards that I have).I lose interest really quickly when men don't treat me the way I expect to be treated. I also tend to demonstrate a lot of pickme-ish behaviors for the people I choose, but my ex was still respectful to me throughout our 2.…

I think it depends on where you are in life, and this has a lot to do with age. I dated my ex for nearly 3 years starting from age 19 when I was looking for an LTR. The break up was pretty sudden when I was graduating -- is was clear we had different life paths. Right now I'm in another relationship, fairly new, that I hope he will be my life partner. But realistically I'm just focusing on making it a LTR for now. I'm in my early 20's, an immigrant in the country I'm in, dating someone from a ne…

My dad has me at 40ish (my mom was close to 40 as well) and the age range is just what you described. But our relationship has been good, not perfect, but I love my dad a lot and he loves me a lot too. Honestly it was weird growing up when all my friends dad's were so much younger, but growing up with such an old dad gave us a sense of financial security. My dad also wasn't working a 9-5 anymore, and retired when I was 13 or so so that gave us a lot of flexibility. Edit to add: it was both my pa…
