I used to date an almost physically perfect model. I slowly fell out of liking her because despite having studied literature, she couldn't name a book she'd read recently. Fine - but you also need to occasionally put time into things like relationships or networking or just partying because of the random connections you may make and the chances that open to you. Call it speculative use of your time - a catalyst of future experiences or just providing the seed capital for friendships and experiences. These things often need a critical mass of time invested, and then you're good. However, never continue an activity that you know, on experience, is a waste of time.
