Exactly :( like the "just ask" is bad enough, it can have weaponized incompetence or like you said malicious... the hug was just ONE example too. There's also withholding because now they know what you want because you asked for it. They can now either dangle the carrot or literally use it to punish you by withholding. Ask me how I know :(... because it won't just happen when you have a rough week at work, or when they fucked up, or when you just want something... they will use it when you need …

Urgh this is triggering to read... because it can (and most often) go even beyond the "just ask". They do it very incompetently and when you mention it or are sad then it's "nothing I do is ever good enough for you!". For example, you have a really rough day and ask for a bear hug (because even if you mentioned wanting to cry from a hard day, you still HaVe tO AsK because he's not a MiNReAdeR) but he gives a half ass side hug... then you say "no a hug with 2 arms please ♡ like a big 30 second hu…

That's in line with the "at least he was honest about it" people when a guy admits he cheated or whatever.

Conspiracy theory, he's doing what you thought and when she's fed up of waiting, he's gonna pull what I thought 😩

Exactly. Thanks, that wasn't something he did to me though, he was massive piece of shhh but even then he couldn't wait to put a big rock on my finger to keep other men away and keep me. But what he was was dismissing, manipulative, resentful, etc so my first thought went to he's definitely keeping that as a manipulation tactic lol Men don't put themselves in a position to lose you!

I just came out of an abusive relationship so I'm majority projecting here. But my first thought was he's keeping it to use it against her. If she gets frustrated enough to decide to leave, he has the ring to say "look I had bought the ring, I was just about to propose (but now I can't because you're leaving)" and then she'd stay and then he can use the wounded trust to not propose another x amount of years while she jumps hoops to "prove herself".

Exactly, her mention of having to use a safe word kinda makes me feel like her saying no/stop wasn't enough and that the safe word was put in place "to mean a serious no". I don't know the story but like.... yikes.

Why would she do that when they can watch it together 🥰

I could be wrong because I've never seen it, but that looks like the swan princess.

Seriously... I'm seeing so much of "you don't get the point, people should think of WHY they wear make-up because wearing make-up is from the patriarchy and you just think you love it but it's all misogyny" like... okay? Why is everyone trying to level up and look nice then? If I can't wear and enjoy my make-up for me, then go wear a potato sack OP. Oh what's that? You enjoy looking nice / quality clothes / different style? NOPE. THAT'S PATRIARCHY! You're clearly just trying to look nice for men…

It looks like it's just US also? I just searched one of my friends there and it showed his number, full name and list of addresses in the past 10+ years 😬 holy shit Edit : it's even showing in "possible associates" names of ex girlfriends, current roommates, co-workers... how is this legal!?

Oh my gosh, that is absolutely horrible... Thank you for sharing.. <3 (I mean it's very sad that happened...) But yes see, it's one thing if my parent would treat me like shit (my own dad was abusive and mom did everything for him, guess where I got my people pleasing from!) but it's a whole other thing if they would treat my partner / pet / friend / etc wrong. I feel like sometimes we're so USED to bad treatment, we take more than normal people do... It looks like that's what happened with your…

Thank you <3 I ended up in a 2-3 year long (toxic/worsely abusive) relationship after that but it clicked for me after that and around the same time I found FDS. I've been single for almost a year now working on my self worth and self love / self improvement (yeah, I need a lot of work there). I remember seeing the "you need to love yourself before getting in a relationship" and I was like "Of course I love myself! I'm super sweet and loving and caring!" but like... I didn't reaaaally KNOW. NOW …

You are right! Most of the red flags showed up once we lived together unfortunately. Then you are right, I made excuses for him (oh so many excuses for him lol). <3 I did a lot of growth last year though, cut out a LOT of toxic people in my life (even toxic women) and started setting boundaries thanks to FDS :)

I'm ashamed to say that this was one of the smallest, insignificant flag :/ but it was one that presented very early on and it's not one that I've seen talked about much given that it's "such a green flag when they treat their mothers well" urgh. I had known him for 6 years BEFORE dating, I really thought I knew him. The things I could say now, like I mentioned in my post, would have me laughed out of this sub 😔 things were fine the first couple years (not abusive) but the rest were very neglect…

Absolutely... That's why I was like "okay why isn't THAT not the dealbreaker here? Why is the thread continuing past that!?". The guy could be the most amazing man the world has ever seen and be my absolutely dream man and I would NOPE THE FUCK OUT.

Honestly I stopped reading at "he sped up to try and kill a squirrel" and I'm surprised that your issue with this was about upsetting your neighbors /speeding and not even the fact he tried to kill a little living being for no fucking reason?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/05/20 05:35 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
