16	Respect I'm just the guy on the back of the truck, so I'm not making a ton of money. Just enough to live with a roommate in Jersey. But I get good health and life insurance. I havent had to deal with workers comp yet thankfully, but I'm sure it's at least decent. 482	Respect I work on the back of a trash truck and I almost get hurt everyday. Mostly because of other drivers, but also sometimes because of the truck. If you get caught between a distracted driver and the back of the truck you're not only guaranteed to die, but also to be split in half in the process. A situation like that almost happened to me 2 months ago. Not to mention the fact that people speed by the trucks in neighborhoods with no regard for the people working on the back.
