Recognize that you have no hard power in this situation. The group organizer can kick you out. But you have soft power, or the power of the court of public opinion. You can handle yourself with decency and respect, if push comes to shove and they force you out, be gracious about it. You have no hard power and will decrease your status clinging to it.
