Not sure why all that matters, but no, they're not. Especially all the uninformed shit they're knocking this person with while still knowing nothing about them. No one owes you politeness. That's not how the world works. We don't know if she was just having a shitty day or if something really big was going on in her life. Instead of taking this so personally, why not just brush it off and move on with the day? Do we have to insult and attack some person because they wanted to be left alone and c…

You have zero idea what was going through her head. This says more what you think about women than what women actually think.

You have no idea what that person's day could be for her to react like that. Just leave her be and move on. There's no reason to take it so personally.

What a knee jerk reaction. Did you actually look at the comments? There's actually some great conversations going on in there that you probably would even agree with. Make an effort and actually engage in the discussions

You're the one that brought it up, man. Also, I popped over to Rotten Tomatoes to look at the popular streaming and in theater movies currently. Below are the ones featuring men as the leads: Red Notice Dune King Richard Tick, Tick, Boom The Harder They Fall Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Finch Venom: Let The Be Carnage No Time To Die Ron's Gone Wrong And these are the ones that either have women leads or are more of an ensemble cast: Ghostbusters The Eternals Hawkeye Encanto This ide…

Dude, what is biologically true about what you wrote? Birth is hard on human beings. We're not fucking cattle. Dismissing it because it's common in nature is just stupid. Nature is notoriously brutal. And I didn't personally attack you. I'm just telling you what you sound like when you write shit like that. You're so defensive here, why are you comparing men and women like this in the first place?
/r/MensRights26/11/21 07:17 AM
-6

How is any of that truth? You're openly dismissing giving birth while never having to experience it yourself. What on earth would make you say that? This just makes you sound small and insecure.
/r/MensRights26/11/21 05:45 AM

Demeaning huh? Like this little take on women's ability to give birth? "Men can do everything women can do except giving birth which is a trivial natural role that every live-birth giving animal, like mammals, routinely do. All female sheep, goats or cows do it without any fuss. Nature made it an automatic mechanism." Just wow. There's also still plenty of positive male characters in media. Thinking otherwise means you're not watching any media or think every hero character has to be a male with…

what are you talking about? There has been every kind of male protagonist in film and tv. We're currently in the age of superhero films and there are literally 3 white, male, muscular Chris' that children can pick from.

"The world was created by men and everything is run by men, and its not sexist, it's by FEMALE CHOICE." You might want to dig a little deeper into that claim, bud.

Ok sure, I guess I misunderstood what lens you were describing the Floyd stuff through. I do agree the real importance of the event has been lost to oversimplifying the event, or thinking he's being worshipped rather than remembered. Although he is mostly being remembered as a symbol for a greater problem we have in our society and less for the person he actually was. But that happens when a story like this reaches millions of people. And ok, this is more what I was curious about. I think the be…

So, lots to unpack there. I won't dig into everything because I don't want to write a novel. One thing did jump out at me was the George Floyd comment. "Is he a martyr or just a bad dude." I think that's missing the point of why that was significant at all. He did unintentionally become a bit of a martyr. But whether or not he was a bad person is irrelevant. The issue is that he was murdered on a sidewalk in broad daylight by a police officer who clearly didn't think he was doing anything wrong,…

Here you are attacking the person (not the idea), and your attack isn't in any way based on what your opponent said. That wasn't an attack, that was a simple observation. He literally said don't buy products from women because women of today succccckkkk. How is simply recognizing that he clearly doesn't like women an attack on him?

It's not an insult to think someone has a dumb idea. And I literally argued why it was dumb. I'll write it again for you: Claiming diversity, inclusion and feminism is creating a sexism and racism that is the worst it's ever been is just wrong. Just because you don't like that women are getting more opportunities than they historically have, is not an attack on men. I hope that helps

I think we all forget life is about perspective. We can can both see the same exact thing at the same time differently. Where do you live/what do you do/ what media do you consume/ what do you focus on. Lots to dig into, right. That's why I like to try to step outside my own perspective. For that exact reason. That's why I'm talking to you right now. And you're really dancing around what you actually said. I'm curious as to why you think there is all this anger bubbling up these days. Where do y…

It's contrary to the reality anyone can see with their eyes. Men still overwhelmingly hold positions of power. Just because the field is opening up more to women as time passes, does not mean it's an attack on men. That's the most fragile, sad world view. You're not a victim because opportunity opens to someone that's not like you. Grow up.

Not really, I just thought it was really dumb. And don't take it personally, Im not accusing you of being stupid. I don't know you. But this take is stupid. Claiming diversity, inclusion and feminism is creating a sexism and racism that is the worst it's ever been is just wrong. Just because you don't like that women are getting more opportunities than they historically have, is not an attack on men. Again, your take sucks

Depends on the joke. I normally don't find fat humor funny because it's such low hanging fruit and just in bad taste. And you act like that doesn't exist when there are plenty of examples. There was a whole arc on the series Friends where Monica used to be fat in high school and the actress wore a fat suit to depict it. She was always shoving food in her face and it was played for cheap laughs. But again, I learned the difference between tv/movies and reality. I know it's not ok to treat people …

Because it's a fucking movie. It's made to laugh at. It wasn't targeting any real individual. It was a cheap laugh at the expense of a fictitious character. Why the hell would you get worked up over something like that.

Just because the world is largely run by powerful, wealthy men doesn't mean poorer men aren't exploited for profit. This list doesn't disprove that. This isn't a gender issue, it's a class issue you're outlining. I'm also not sure what the obsession is here with having to one up women when they say they've experienced hardship over generations and are tired of it. Is it really a big deal to say, "you're right, that sounds hard."? It's a bit dickish to go "oh yeah? Look at MEN'S hardships".

I definitely won't disagree with you on that first point. Normalizing violence and censoring sex is one of the weirdest, most self destructive things we do as a society. And I think it's important to keep trying to keep a dialogue going even if you get blocked or shouted down. Also, they can't "cancel" you if you're just asking them not to not say "death to all men", that's not how that works. That's an absolutely fair thing to criticize. But I think it's important to also understand that people…
/r/MensRights17/06/21 04:56 AM

Look man, there's a big fucking difference between violent rhetoric and violent actions. If these women saying this are actually going out and murdering men, we should throw them away and toss away the key. Everyone likes to throw around freedom of speech until it's about something they don't like. I certainly don't like that some women say that, but it's literally their right to do so if they want. And if you hear someone say that, it's totally within your rights to hold them accountable for it…
/r/MensRights17/06/21 03:13 AM

I've already stated the problem. We're currently in a mens right group hyper focusing on women saying "kill all men" despite the fact that men actually do kill more women in practice. Why are you not more upset at the actual deaths happening to women at the hands of men instead of focusing on some women that are just yelling hateful bullshit?
/r/MensRights16/06/21 07:10 PM

I didn't say it makes it ok. But this hyper focusing on one side of the coin isn't helpful either. I'm having trouble posting my main source, it's an 8 page PDF with some statistics going up to around 2007. But this link has some info in it too. Just take a Google on gender murder rates, you'll find plenty https://globalnews.ca/news/6536184/gender-based-violence-men-women/amp/ Basically, men are victims of more murders overall. But when you go into more of the specifics, women are mostly murdere…
/r/MensRights16/06/21 04:00 PM

Maybe take a look at the actual murder rates in the country and tell me what you see. You're getting wound up over empty threats and angry rhetoric instead of the actual murders being committed. And do you really think a war against men as an entire gender is a likely possibility?
/r/MensRights15/06/21 05:56 PM
-3

so what? It's not news that dumb people exist. I'm certain there are men that think the same thing on the opposite end of the spectrum. This way of thinking is not exclusive to one gender or the other. It's a people problem

If you're with someone who values your opinion, you get a say. You could also get a vasectomy and then reverse it when you're ready to have kids if you're that worried about it. Thinking men don't have a say is what's plain stupid. You're right that when a woman gets pregnant, at that point it becomes her choice because it's happening exclusively in her body. But the choice to have sex is equally the man's. If you're having casual sex, that's a risk you're choosing to take. If you're having sex …

No one is digging their fingers into your wallet, Jesus christ. The bullshit comes when you're painting poor people with this broad brush as being moochers on society. Again, you're playing into this narrative that rich dick heads are peddling. If you give people the means to support themselves, they'll fucking take it. The issue is that if you lose your job or have a part time job, you don't get health insurance. With wage stagnation and companies continuing to not pay workers what they're wort…

You seem to be under the impression you don't live in a society and function solely off your own means. That's not how it works and you know it. You're just picking and choosing what benefits you and saying fuck the rest. And you're not footing the bill for anyone if everyone pays into healthcare and are equally covered. You're just falling into the same trap every rich person wants you to. You're focused on going after people just trying to make it by like yourself instead of going after the co…

You already pay for things that don't effect you directly. That's what living in a society is. You pay for roads you don't drive down. You pay for police departments and fire stations, even though you more than likely won't need them. Same goes for generalized government healthcare. And more importantly, paying into society so that society functions properly is part of living in a healthy society. Have you seen how much it costs to carry a pregnancy to completion under our current system? Again, it's a problem with the system, not the people
/r/MensRights11/06/21 06:08 PM
1

What about families that have more than one woman in them?
/r/MensRights11/06/21 05:54 PM
0

Everyone is currently overpaying. That's part of the problem. You're framing this to be a problem just for men when it isn't.
/r/MensRights11/06/21 05:36 PM
1

The costs aren't derived from pregnancies, I was wrong. it's mainly from menopause, which all women experience even if they don't have kids. And what choice don't men have? What on earth are you talking about there?
/r/MensRights11/06/21 05:19 PM
0

I don't have a woman, I live with one. And that's fine, do your thing. But that doesn't make that the right solution because it solely benefits single men with zero women in their life
/r/MensRights11/06/21 05:16 PM
1

So how about we push for a fixed system that is cost effective and meets the needs of the people using it instead of just throwing women under the bus by making them pay more for a system that is still broken? Because I have women in my household. Their healthcare expenses going up and mine going down leaves us where we started
/r/MensRights11/06/21 05:03 PM
-4

well at least you're honest about your selfish intentions. Too bad it's not a solution to anything.
/r/MensRights11/06/21 04:52 PM
-3

Most families have a woman in them. How is anyone being helped if the quality of care is still shit, but they're just paying more? None of this sounds like an actual solution, it just sounds like you want to pay less as a man
/r/MensRights11/06/21 04:41 PM
-20

So all you got from that entire paper is that one sentence? The bulk of it is about menopausal women not getting the quality of care they need under the current system and still at rising costs. Menopause is also linked to women's reproductive systems, my pregnancy guess wasn't that far off. So again, why just make women pay more if none of the other issues are being addressed? That doesn't help anyone, especially families with women in them, which I'm betting is a lot
/r/MensRights11/06/21 04:38 PM
-23

How is women giving birth a strawman? And how do they use healthcare more then? I haven't seen any to real evidence of this here. And why refine this system if its shit? I'd rather efforts go into totally fixing the system. Who the hell is helped if women pay more for healthcare?
/r/MensRights11/06/21 04:05 PM
-30

So because women give birth they should pay more in our busted system? What are we even talking about here? Why not just advocate for a universal healthcare system?
/r/MensRights11/06/21 03:58 PM
-15

Also, you shouldn't pay to have stuff put in your mouth. You're supposed to charge them for that. Have some pride in your work

I'm honestly a little gun shy coming into subs and disagreeing. I've been banned from multiple subs for offering a differing opinion or trying to hold someone accountable for some bullshit they said. So that's mostly why I didn't really dig into it. But that's great to hear you're open to differing opinions. On that note, the oversimplification is that this thread is functioning off the idea that the entirety of feminism is a "toxic ideology". Which is absolutely an oversimplification. From what…

What I pointed out was not whataboutism. All I was really saying is the overall point of his comments could just as easily be applied to the group he is a part of. Thinking my comment was "guns a-blazing" and that the comment I was responding to was civil kind of just shows how echo-chambery this really is. He characterized the entirety of feminism as a toxic ideology who hate men and are out to victimize them. How is that civil? And more importantly, that's not what feminism is. It's simply adv…

That's a fair point. It does mean something when differing opinions are allowed to remain. Unfortunately, that's hard to come by in many groups these days. But at the same time, I have a good number of downvotes with very little response to the actual point I was trying to raise. So while differing opinions are more or less tolerated here, there doesn't seem to be much engagement other than getting downvoted. And these types of issues I was responding to are incredibly nuanced and require though…

You have to understand that they're indoctrinated. Some of them have been in feminist spaces online for over a decade. When extremists gather in online spaces, no matter what their common belief is, they tend to become more radicalized because they enable and feed off each other. That is literally describing an echo chamber.
