Really bloody hard. If you can get a little land, which can be very expensive depending on where you live, you can definitely move in that direction. Veggie garden, off grid living, brew/grow your own can all help but to go 100% or much more than 50% off the land will be a long hard struggle. IMO it's not worth it. It is not purely on the daughter. Mostly but it was the dad that pulled the trigger. And only afterwards found out it was not a rapist/housebreaker etc. Its an awful situation. I would probably have done the same but i would like to think i would accept the consequences of my acrions afterwards. I assume the dad feels terrible about this.

The daughter had invited him in and lies about it. It is mostly the daughters fault. He didn't know that which is how this came about. Its a tragedy, one which would most likely have been avoided had the daughter told the truth. In case i have not been clear enough it is my belief that if you take another persons life you need to get it right. If it turns out after that you were wrong you will have to face the consequences.
