The myth of benevolent sexism: treating women better than men is not sexism against women. If sexism is discrimination on the basis of sex, and you can discriminate in a positive way, I'd thought benevolent sexism could be seen as another name for female privilege. I don't agree with misandrists/feminists that anything giving women an advantage over men is a plot against women. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/01/21 06:39 PM
The myth of benevolent sexism: treating women better than men is not sexism against women.Generally I agree, "benevolent sexism" against women is often used to explain misandry as actually being an attack on women. Though I did see a genuine example of benevolent sexism towards women posted here once. The report shows that boys were graded neutrally, if you put a male name on the work rather than leave it anonymous, the grade didn't change. If you put a female name on, they'd get bumped up a grade. Since people weren't treating boys negatively, just giving girls special treatment, I … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/01/21 12:39 PM
Why do conservatives and libertarians get a free pass here?"Why do people who want fair treatment for men get a free pass to support men, regardless of them having a variety of views on other issues?" The main reason is because this sub is about men's rights, as you might have guessed by its name. As confusing as it might be, conservatives, liberals, libertarians and most other political views, don't have to be in conflict with men being treated fairly. Another way to put it is, people who are in favour of fair treatment for men are welcome regardless o… | /r/MensRights | 30/07/18 10:58 AM
Study finds women — including feminists — are more attracted to ‘benevolently sexist’ menTrue, it's common enough to have become a stereotype. You can be told that she doesn't want you to fix it, but you're going to hear about it until it, uh, fixes itself somehow. It does make sense, if you didn't ask for help then it's altruism/interference for someone else to do it, not someone doing you a favour and you feeling obligation to them in return. | /r/TheRedPill | 13/07/18 06:13 PM
Study finds women — including feminists — are more attracted to ‘benevolently sexist’ menIt's interesting that they resist seeing the obvious. People don't want equality if they can have more. Benevolent sexism in a partner means he'll handle your problems on top of his own, showing competence. It's amusing that they're actually shocked that women prefer being given special treatment by their partner, rather than being expected to pull their own weight. | /r/TheRedPill | 13/07/18 04:07 AM
Women should no longer be sent to prison unless they have committed a serious crime says Justice SecretaryHaha, now that an article clearly states that the intention is to keep women out of prison, racists want to find a way to blame a particular ethnicity for it. You people are hilarious. | /r/TheRedPill | 08/07/18 08:15 PM
State of James Damore case against googleTrue, some left leaning people thought "Tribalism is bad, so clearly we need to give advantages to every other group instead!" which was idiotic. Others still support making things fair, equal opportunities over dragging people down to match the lowest. | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 04:21 PM
State of James Damore case against googleGenuine equality, not special treatment for having the right skin tone or genitals. | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 02:09 PM
How your name shapes what other people think of your personalityTrue, it might not have a significant effect, but without them being certain they'll want to be careful and prevent any interference with the area they're trying to study. I agree that the type of name is probably more important, but they can't make assumptions, they have to do their best to make sure their tests are as accurate as they can be. | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 01:58 PM
What’s the deal with the UK?I think it's because there's currently action being taken to fix it. With the former head of the CPS being revealed to have been heavily biased against men, and politicians also pointing out the double standards in our laws, people are beginning to notice that the bias needs to be addressed. The reason we're also seeing feminists behaving terribly, is because they are currently still in power, our Prime Minister is one, so the problem won't disappear overnight, they still have far too much influ… | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 01:41 PM
How your name shapes what other people think of your personalityI'd guess it's to eliminate any other factors that might interfere. For example, if people tend to have a more positive reaction to different sounds, preferring "e" sounds over "o" or "k" over "j", then it would interfere with the results of the test. | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 01:25 PM
England moving to only jail women for serious crimes.People who disagree with you aren't always trolls. And as I've mentioned before, I don't agree with that law at all. I was explaining how it worked, so people could learn what actually happens in the situation. That law is obviously too broad, but the purpose was to prevent a criminal from using a loophole. "Uh, it's not a knife, it's a just an old style of razor/machete/scalpel." It is stupid for someone to be arrested for a potato peeler, and it isn't normal for it to happen. | /r/MensRights | 06/07/18 12:41 PM
England moving to only jail women for serious crimes.I agree, it's still overly restrictive, it just doesn't go as far as people like to claim. | /r/MensRights | 05/07/18 09:36 PM

England moving to only jail women for serious crimes. It depends on the situation, if you're wandering around with a bladed instrument openly displayed, and can't think of any excuse, it's illegal. If you need it for basically any reason, no punishment. As irritating as some of these rules are, they're created with the intention of preventing loopholes, not to punish people at random. | /r/MensRights | 05/07/18 07:30 PM
Misogyny Versus Misandry: Which is more widespread, and which is more harmful?Fair enough, I might be understating it a bit with the influence they still have to ruin lives today, though I do think radical feminism is in decline and won't be able to do so much harm soon. | /r/MensRights | 29/05/18 10:31 PM
Era of Feminizing Boys while Masculinizing girls - Interesting readIn this case "ahead" would be as in "forwards" or "ahead of where they have been, not ahead of men." | /r/MensRights | 29/05/18 06:26 PM
Misogyny Versus Misandry: Which is more widespread, and which is more harmful?Worldwide I'd say misogyny is more common by a fairly large margin, though in modern western nations misandry is significantly more common, and frequently ignored. Misogyny is more harmful in my eyes, if only because in the regions which it is common there are fewer rules to protect women from hate-filled predators. Misandry is mostly just a nuisance, and is starting to be addressed, albeit gradually. Also, I don't think that a gradual, more careful shift toward more fair treatment is all bad, a… | /r/MensRights | 29/05/18 04:31 PM
