Women entering the job market, getting rights and widespread use of condoms and birth control pills are the main reason why people don't have more kids. Back then there was only 1 provider that earned more than enough to support a big family, now there has to be 2 providers just to survive. The current Society doesn't allow for families to thrive like they use to.
