What did you do today?Entering month 8. Separated but not divorced yet, hopeful that process gets finalized in the coming months. Today I took off work. I run my own business and I have an injury in my foot so I decided I’m just going to take it easy and try to let my foot heal over the weekend. In a few hours I have to pick up my three year old who stays with me over the weekend so rest was already off the table but I’ll take a morning and afternoon to get off my feet. Texted a woman I started to see a few months ba… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/07/26 08:08 PM
How do you talk about your past without talking about your ex?I’d agree, didn’t see anything specific to a first date. Definitely probably something you should find out about before moving in with somebody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/07/26 12:40 AM
How do you talk about your past without talking about your ex?I personally find it refreshing to be truthful and the fact is that women and men both have had their fair share of poor partners. If somebody I am interested in can’t talk about their past in a truthful way, which includes details and information about what their past partners habits and behaviors were that dissolved prior relationships then I don’t find the other person being truthful and have much more respect for people who are willing to talk about issues. I’ve met a fair amount of women wh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/07/26 11:30 PM
Shitshow finally improving - recommendations on how to communicate with a 3 y/o?That’s awful man, I’m happy for you that things are beginning to get better. I don’t have experience such as that, but I have had 50/50 custody with my three year old since January and it’s been delightful. My son is an entirely different kid when he is with me, sadly he has a lot of challenges when it comes to being with his mother. As far as our routine, we just do guy stuff. I noticed at this age he is super adaptable and just wants to do whatever I am doing. We run errands, go for walks, tak… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/07/26 04:13 AM
Was supposed to talk to my kids on the phone for the first time in 4 months tonight but she “had a prior appointment”. At 6pm on a Friday. There’s literally nothing she can take, we never had anything. We had a minimalist lifestyle and that’s it. I am the business, I stop working then the money stops, there is no value I am the value. I already have been supported and given a voice to our clients about her behaviour and most of them are disgusted by her antics. None of our clients would want to have anything to do with her. Not to mention we live in a marital community property state. She can’t afford anything, her parents are dumb… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/07/26 10:40 PM
Was supposed to talk to my kids on the phone for the first time in 4 months tonight but she “had a prior appointment”. At 6pm on a Friday.I’m on 8 months of separation. It was her decision, she wanted this and I don’t feel convicted to file for the divorce myself but she said she is going to. Still hasn’t. She also hasn’t been working since January, just leeching off her mom and dad. Doing some small under the table nanny gigs here and there but otherwise she is always hanging out with friends and already dating a guy. I kept the business that we built together, she said initially she was burnt out and done doing it, then she says… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/07/26 10:29 PM
Been sleeping better and lost 20 lbs since divorce. Strange thing is I've only been divorced for 3 weeks. Is this normal?I was at about 220 in January and I’m at 180 now. Most came off those first three months, also noticed my blood pressure came down significantly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/26 05:22 AM
Title: Married 6 months ago, now I think my wife is a covert narcissist and no one believes me because she’s “the sweetest person.” How did you cope?Just got out of an 8 year relationship, 7 year marriage with somebody I believe has undiagnosed BPD and covert narcissism. Hardest part is how I enabled her behavior and how she has manipulated each relationship to such an extent to only serve her own various purposes. She cuts out the people who see and challenge her, and she does everything she can to maintain her illusion. Best thing to do is just leave and don’t look back. Wish I did that years ago but she did give me a son who is the best t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/26 09:47 PM
5 Days since she asked. What should I expect emotionally?Glad to hear it man and another thing I’m learning is that the next time I get on the carousel, I got a bunch of people around me that I trust. Next time I date a girl I’m taking her to the pool hall and seeing how she interacts with my friends. Each one comes from a different background, with different perceptions and experiences. Each person I can have an honest conversation with and ask what they think for once instead of diving into something with rose tinted glasses and miss the defects tha… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/26 01:20 PM
5 Days since she asked. What should I expect emotionally?Yes, CPS thing was an obvious false report and it’s been closed and put behind me. Still required a criminal investigation and had to interview my kids pre-k teachers and other parents. That was pretty upsetting but it’s settled and life goes on. I get it, I moved to the city she lived in and she was my focus and pretty much my only friend the whole time we were together. When she split I lost all our “friends” but I’m honestly better off without them if they are the kind of people too stupid to… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/26 05:27 AM
5 Days since she asked. What should I expect emotionally?Well, from my own experience that started back in January… expect the unexpected. The woman I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with became an entirely different person, cruel and vindictive unlike anything I had ever seen. Never knew she had that side of her, but after time went on I began to realize she was probably always this way but I just didn’t notice it. Example: She falsely reported me to CPS the same week she found out I had been with somebody else. Not just like an absu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/26 04:31 AM
Month 7 Reflections4th of July was three months. It’s honestly been surprisingly easy and I don’t miss it. Best decision and thing that’s happened through all this and I’m looking forward to the positive changes that come with it! Thanks for the encouragement! | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/26 06:41 PM
