It's how I personally identify. I believe it carries a far stronger definition, and it more easily withstands claims of sexism from either side.

You say it ranks pretty high on introspection, but I see more misogyny here than I would like to. I call it out when I can, but it has turned me away from clicking on a lot of posts. It's one of the biggest things this subreddit could improve on, IMO.

Being hateful as fuck on a throwaway account. You're not here supporting men's rights with this post and comments, you're bitching and being very misogynistic. At this point I think you're astroturfing the subreddit for AHS screenshots. Can't believe others here are upvoting this garbage.

It's difficult to give specific advice, but I believe the core of what needs to change is a thorough consideration of men's perspectives. Feminism, and the philosophy behind it, never really takes the male experience into consideration. This isn't unique to feminism either; I think MRAs easily lose sight of a woman's perspective in many of their arguments. You might ask "what is an example of this?" Not to get overly political, but a current and controversial topic serves well as an analogy here…

Well yeah. If you want effective censorship you don't say: "Men's rights cannot be discussed on Reddit." ...because then you have to defend why, and it's hard to spin it enough that the average Joe doesn't think "oh, because sexism." Instead, you create a space for it, and then moderate and guide the topics such that no progress can actually be made.

Menslib has an insane user overlap with twox, witches vs patriarchy, and other feminist subreddits. It exists merely so that they can pretend to actually care about men's issues. You commented on a perfect example of it: How we can help women by helping men. They're not there to help men, they're there to help women. Avoid that subreddit.

Pretty misogynistic generalization, probably shouldn't put that on here. Somewhat ashamed it's even upvoted. C'mon people, if you saw this kind of comment with the genders flipped on /r/feminism you'd be quite upset. No need to pretend it's okay to have here.

Pretty misogynistic statement, don't you think? I'm sure there will always be people, regardless of gender, who don't truly contribute very much towards society yet are compensated as if they do.

Sure but the above poster isn't wrong. Most people in the dating scene are going to find it odd that you don't have a usual job. Most people hear "unemployed" and conflate it with laziness or idleness; neither of which would be a quality that I would be interested in in a partner. That doesn't make women shallow, it just makes you a bit uncharismatic in how you approach informing them of your nontraditional situation.

Not going to bother to reply to all of your comments on this thread, but this post in particular is an outlier. On that note, any post calling out biases is going to attract those who just wish to project their own bias. However, calling the whole sub 'outrage porn against women' isn't correct. Do you post on /r/twox or /r/feminism or /r/witchesvspatriarchy that a majority of their posts are just outrage porn against men? Of course you don't. Something along those lines. As it turns out, most states in America post the overturning of Roe V Wade are still going to have more lax abortion laws than the "European utopia states" that Reddit always speaks so highly of.

We are fighting for awareness that men still lack bodily autonomy in western society. Male genital mutilation is normalized, and hundreds of boys die as a result of it each year. Many efforts were made to stop all forms of Female Genital Mutilation in countries like Africa. While applaudable, many boys in those same areas are still facing routine genital mutilation. Why were no efforts made to cease the practice of MGM in the same areas of the world that efforts were made to stop FGM? Both are i…

I think the truth is that feminists in general do not want the discussion as they are pro-abortion, and just want it to be settled as legal and available. Umm yea, as it should be. What is there to discuss that doesn't involve fake shit? Not sure it's a valid point though? Saying that rapists just don't understand consent because they were already attracted to their date is disingenuous. Or are we seriously arguing that Cosby just had no idea drugging and raping the women he went on dates with was wrong? AITA is notoriously misandric, so I'm not surprised everyone is calling him an asshole for shoulder tapping someone. It's a good way to get someone's attention. Will people in a club appreciate it? Probably not every time. Not a good look if you're trying to get someone to dance with you. But a bad pickup attempt doesn't make you an asshole. The people in that sub should try touching grass or something, maybe it will help them.

Yeah, I knew this take would be unpopular. After MGTOW being banned a lot of them are more active here. They're a bit further from center than I am. Look, I'm all for supporting consenting adults. Even put it in there that it was legal. I just don't see how someone who is twice someone else's age will be able to relate to them on any romantic level other than physical desire. If that's the extent of their relationship, so be it.

It's crazy how they've invented a term that allows them to make claims without proving it. Sure, perhaps if someone refuses to look up the most trivial of things or asks the most basic of questions, then you could claim they're not actually interested in the argument. I'm just imagining the top level comment on one of the common stories here of single fathers being bullied out of groups for things such as play-dates, playgrounds, etc. By the women in the group. Such an asinine thing to say in response.

Ah, it's the post in AskReddit? I read that, absolutely tragic what happened to that man. Unfortunately, his story is too common. I've seen tons of cases of women raping men, getting pregnant, and the man being forced to pay child support for it. Even when the Woman in question rapes a 15 year old child, they'll still force him to pay. Absolutely horrific, could you imagine the pain of having to enter the workforce at 15-16 only to see 50% of your paychecks until you're 34?

Yeah, the single most important metric for a child's success isn't how much money their school spends on them. It's how involved their father is in their life. Hard to get America to focus on the importance of dad in the household, unfortunately.

If the large majority is bad, find a different moniker? It says in the article you linked that the old definition excluded women who were raped while under the influence of drugs. /r/MensRights16/06/20 07:42 PM

I'm glad that they changed the definition to something that includes male rape. But they didn't do it for men. They did it because it excluded some women. It's very often that men's issues are only given attention once it causes distress for women. I'm glad they made a shelter, but they still advocate against any meaningful reforms of domestic abuse law and enforcement. Yes, there are good feminists. But they are vastly outweighed by the extremely vocal bad. Those "good" feminists hardly fit the…

That's literally wrong. The reason it's unheard of for men to get raped is because feminists set the definition of rape to be "forced to be penetrated". This means most female on male rape simply isn't rape, it's sexual assault. Read up on Mary P Koss. Feminists don't build shelters for men. They routinely protest men's shelters, and routinely argue against the idea that men can even be victims of domestic abuse. Read up on the Duluth model. If it's about a man it's just a harmless joke, what's the big deal? If it's about a woman you're advocating violence against women and Twitter will suspend your account, or employers will view that tweet and refuse to hire you. Sure, it's an issue with double standards, not the joke itself... But if feminists are going to claim things like rape culture and point at rape jokes, can we not be upset jokes advocating for violence against men? Sounds like a cultural oppression to me.

Funnily enough, if you change the definition of rape from: "Forced to be penetrated" To: "Nonconsensual sex" Then it's about 50/50 for men raped versus women raped. Not exactly 50%, but close enough that the point remains the same.

Damn, someone lost an accusation case after being buried in contradictory evidence? It's not an issue if the compensation is fair. A man might take 90% paycheck, 10% benefits, and a woman takes 70% paycheck, 30% benefits. As far as objectification goes, both sexes get preferential treatment if they are generally attractive. Either way, that's more of a societal issue rather than a workplace issue. See, it's really easy to agree with reforms to how child support is done because when you pint it out, it's a very flawed system. If child support guaranteed that the man have some form of custody, and the woman had to provide receipts to prove that she was spending the money fairly, and the support was capped at a reasonable amount, men wouldn't be upset.
/r/MensRights10/02/19 11:21 PM

You're wrong because men don't write it out the check to the child, they write it out to the mother. There's nothing stopping women from spending child support money on things that aren't needed for the child. Why is child support based off of a man's income if the cost of a child should be based on the cost of living it's being raised in? Why can't men buy necessities, give them to the child, and then write off the child support?

Politics raise bills and create voting issues through media and awareness campaigns. No, it's entirely related that men have a requirement to do something or else they will lose rights. You can't just throw the problem out the window because it's wrong and is a problem, it's still something that every man has to do or else they will lose their right to vote, and not something that women have to do at all.
/r/MensRights08/12/18 07:52 PM

Being a felon is related to voting, considering felons can no longer vote. Yeah, you can register to vote and not the draft, but once you hit 27 they start to crack down and come after you with charges, and you lose a lot of rights.
/r/MensRights08/12/18 07:48 PM
