We pretty much have all been there and it’s heartbreaking. She is using the silver bullet on you, look it up and how to fight it. It will get thrown out over time but never stop fighting because that is how you lose and what she wants.

For emergency orders they have to take it, they don’t have a choice. I know this is stressful but take solace that every man here has one of these and they are so common. The courts know this and the truth will come out. Never forget what your ex is willing to do

Just wanted to say I had the exact same thing happen to make with the same outcome. My advice is get a lawyer and fight like hell.

This is always the case and why you talk finance last. She wants her cake and eat it too. Take away what’s driving her happiness, your agreement on finances. Disagree and say you need that money to fight for 50/50.

No, it’s common sense. No matter if you hate the other parent or think they are horrible a child will feel a gap from a missing parent and have those feelings

Don’t tell her, let her get comfortable with new guy and not have a place with of her own. Hire a PI to gather evidence. Get a lawyer and file when you have what you need

My lawyer says not to… then it will look like two people being petty. Right now with her failed attacked you look like the stable one.

Offer 50/50 on kids and finances. Do not move away from 50/50 on kids even for a second or a breath. Know that she will ask for a little more than 50/50 because she has to “win”. Find an asset you think she wants and put it in your head and pocket that you will give it to her when she delays. If she keeps delaying take it back. Fight in court over kids, no assets. Settle the assets. If she wants to get together use that info to your advantage. Say that you are open to talking about that after bu…

I feel like you are in a space where you are giving someone grace when they are abusing you. Realize this person isn’t your friend anymore and won’t change their ways.

Same thing happened in mine. Friend got divorced and said how awesome it was and how much she got from her ex. We divorce. Then a year later she comes crying saying that her friend lied to her and it sucks. When she asked the friend why she said it was great she said she was jealous and unhappy lol

Same life. Mine doesn’t work at the school but registered them. Every single year I have to go in and add my information because she removes it when registering. When brought up it’s “oh computers….” And basically impossible to prove. If you have a court order I would have your lawyer send it demanding that you are added to spook them into compliance

Thanks for the ray of hope. Going through this now. Non stop lies and making a Mountian out of her mole hill. This gives me some hope. What ultimately moved the case in your direction?

I hear you and hear your pain. You’ll have the relationship you want with your kids after 18, without a doubt. In terms of giving up, that’s a personal choice. A lot of men do, or even kill themselves because of the pain. I don’t hold judgement. But ask yourself, will you regret not fighting for the rest of your life? You and I both know it won’t stop your ex from doing whatever she wants and “punishing you”

Overnights are how days are counted. There are 7 days in the week, it is impossible to split 7 days. That’s why plans use a two week period.

Your plan isn’t 50/50 it’s 57/43 her favor. A child at that age is better with a 2-2-3 schedule. Each parent gets Monday / Tuesday, Wednesday/thursday, flip every. Other fri sat sun. Then you get a full weekend and each parent has the same days. This plan will get annoying flipping on Saturday as no one gets any weekend with or without the kids.

I’ve dated a few after and there was a common thread - they hated their exs all the way back to high school. So much abuse claims, so much wrong doing by men.

Honestly as a man you have to give up connecting your value to your net worth. Every divorced man I know is ruined to never recover. I lost house, 400k in equity, all of 401k, another 400k there. All savings, like $50k there. I had to trade this for 50/50. That was a decade ago. Now she’s bringing me to court to take away 50/50. She will never stop until she has everything I ever had or will have.

Honestly start a journal. At worst it will help you with your thoughts. At best, you can use it when your ex brings you to court and says the children hate it with you. You can show that there is parental alienation going on and that they do like being with you.

Mine does the same thing, sometimes I wonder if it’s manipulation. Mine will file for full support then ask me how I’m doing in life and talk about work.

I had issues but it didn’t deserve the outcome. Honestly some effort on both sides would have recovered it.

It sounds nice while you are splitting up but won’t work after. Get that 50/50 on paper signed and don’t let any access to the house change that

Do not have your name on the mortgage. She will stop paying and you won’t be able to get her out. She will live rent free for years as she destroys credit.

Alright here is your future: She will move away from you She will put the kids in every sport, camp, etc while she goes on vacations with the boy of the month using your money (you have to split these programs and everything associated with it on top of your CS) Your kids will be told you abandoned them You will be sued constantly to pay for more and more She will be in total control and use it against you Good luck!

You need to have your lawyer file for parent alienation. They should have no details of what happened with you and your ex. Keep a detailed journal, it can be used in court

It’s a fight non stop yes, look at my post history. But I promise you she will have all control for the next decade and keep you in court forever. You are thinking like a man, 1 and 0s and math. She is thinking “how can I punish him for this”. If you let her have total control she will use it to punish you. Do what I did. Offer more or even everything financially, get 50/50 and rebuild your financial self while building relationships with your kids. Tell her this is your final offer or you are g…

You’re a fool if you give up 50/50 for the kids. It will be you punishment for the rest of your life
/r/Divorce_Men13/07/25 02:32 PM

Because if she has control of the kids she will move you around the state, make you pay even more over time, use them against you at every moment and honestly ruin their lives. Ask any man here, the kids are used against them when they have control. Up to you how long you want this pain to last.
/r/Divorce_Men13/07/25 03:42 AM

Don’t give up 50/50 of the fighting you’re experiencing during the divorce will never end. She is causing you pain on purpose as payback for the failed marriage. If she has control of the kids she will continue this pain.

Go on avvo and find the most rated family lawyer in your area. Hire them, tell them 50/50 no matter what. Make your offer 60% of assets so she can have a win. If she fights that, take it off the table. The next few months dictate the rest of your time with your children so make wise choices and fight like hell

I may have gotten lucky here - my lawyer offered hers to pick between two and they picked the one he wanted. He didn’t go into why he wanted them but maybe this was it

This is both scary and hopeful. Any advice on it? It was my lawyers idea that a GAL would be assigned and got to choose what one. Hopefully that helps me.

I hope it goes that way and they see that 50/50 in these school districts have been successful. I would have rather put this money to the kids college but here we are. I was looking through my coparents and my texts yesterday and they were all normal, pictures of the kids at events, talking about schedules with no anger. If anything, she ghosts me often.

I actually got divorced the day before this started to my second ex (she is first) … she is getting married tho and wants to move. I said no to the move. Our oldest is turning 18 so child support should go down but we’ll see after all this.

We have 2 others and the child support is just listed as a set amount. We have no recalced in a decade. It would go in my favor if we did.

I’m glad to hear a good story out of that… I’m so afraid of losing 50/50 over courts listening to whatever she comes up with.

You need a better lawyer. A good start is to go on avvo and find the most positive reviews for your county. Your case shouldn’t go like this, it’s time to get aggressive.
