Many women fight for equality but only when it suits themyou wholly misinterpreted what I was saying. I said the $1,100 is substantial for someone making 50k. I said it was much easier for someone making 100k. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 06/11/22 01:15 PM
Many women fight for equality but only when it suits themIf you’re truly a team, one partner who can’t afford to live outside of their means wouldn’t suggest an apartment that they knew they couldn’t afford. It’s a two way street when being a team. The individual who can’t afford as much shouldn’t force their better off partner into an apartment for which they could not afford. A person making 50k could still afford an apartment in the range which I mentioned above. However, just because they can afford it, doesn’t mean that they will still have to be… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/11/22 04:46 PM
Many women fight for equality but only when it suits themHow is it situational? If you make 100k, and your partner makes 50k, $2,200 in monthly rent (an very reasonable rate for a 2-bedroom in a city) is going to be a substantial portion of their salary. If there is only a 5k difference in salary, that’s a different story. But otherwise, it is unfair to make your partner pay an equal about for an unequal salary. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/11/22 04:33 PM
Many women fight for equality but only when it suits themIt is wholly unfair to make your partner pay equal if they make significantly less. It is a much larger chunk of their income, and a much smaller chunk if you make more. Why fight over this? You’re in a partnership to support one and another. I would be so uncomfortable making my boyfriend pay equal in rent when I know I can afford it easily and he can’t. It doesn’t always need to be 50/50. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/11/22 03:20 PM
If you were to live with a boyfriend or husband who earns significantly more than you, how would you feel about splitting living expenses 50/50?I am a woman, and an attorney. I am the breadwinner in my relationship. I make roughly 30k more than him, and that amount is about to increase to 60k more than him. So, I pay more rent, proportional to the amount that we each take home. We split everything else, and keep individual expenses separate. He pays his own car payment and insurance. I pay my own student loans. Those are our individual expenses. But for household? We generally split everything, but it doesn’t always need to be 50/50. If… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/11/22 03:17 PM
What are the consequences of having a colourful past? You’re very clearly missing the point. At 18, there’s a lot of stupid shit you’ll tolerate, especially if you have been in abusive relationships. Even non-abusive things, like subscribing to OnlyFans, or watching porn instead of being intimate, that might work for some people. And at 18, I thought I could tolerate that. Now, I know I won’t. You act as if individuals are stagnant in their wants and needs. That is far from the truth. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/09/22 04:14 PM
What are the consequences of having a colourful past?If anything, sleeping around has made me more positive of what I actually want in a partner. I know how I want to be treated. As long as you’re safe, there aren’t consequences. Like you said, who would want to be with someone who doesn’t value you simply because you’ve had sex? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/09/22 03:59 PM
