Your material reality is crumbling. We won’t help you, but talking about it for $200 and hour will solve it. Kbye

When you get right down to the brass tacks, racism, sexism, all the -phobias including against sexuality, religion, national origin, gender- all serve the owner class of society. These are all tools that serve to divide the rest of us against each other and ignore the growing disparity of wealth. This is nothing new! There are examples throughout history. I became interested in this subs topic because I was seeking an answer about why so many young men are voting for Trump and what he represents…

Misandry is the correlation of misogyny only against men. It’s a simple concept. The fact the modern feminism doesn’t acknowledge it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Please keep in mind that this is left wing male advocacy. We want equality. We want all people to be seen and treated as equals. We do not look to a return to a past of rigid gender roles prominent in the ‘manosphere’. We are just tired of our advocacy being shouted down or labeled misogynistic or toxic. This is a male space. I think …

Whatever our individual feelings about pornography, in the US it is a protected form of expression. Personally, I don’t have strong opinions about sex work other than that we should generally allow people to freely make choices for themselves so long as it is without coercion. Sex trafficking should be universally condemned but otherwise I’m fairly indifferent to sex work.

The patriarchy benefits the owners of society. I don’t feel that it benefits me at all and rather reinforces the idea that being a wage slave is the only acceptable way to participate in society. Fuck all that.

I agree, I’m not sure what the outrage is about. Our politicians are a representation of the body politic, and when attitudes change the parties must change or risk falling out of favor. Democrats have leaned too far into identity politics for too long, and they’ve on the balance abandoned both the working class and men in general. Course correction is what we need, so why get upset when that starts to happen?

As a not rich person it would be nice to have an American political party that isn’t an arm of corporate America instead of what we have. Stop the moralizing from either end and save the middle and working class. I’ve been telling my liberal friends and family for years that identity politics will cause the very situations they are trying to avoid. They are deaf to it.

I’m here because my boss took a no call no show seriously and contacted my sister who found me on the edge of death. This was a year ago last spring. I’ve never withheld this information from my psychiatrist and I can say honestly that she never tried to commit me or anything else. I’m on the correct medicines now (after a bit of trial and error) and have been diagnosed with Audhd, and I have a new lease on life. I understand the reticence as my sister had to nurse me back to heath because I ref…

Perhaps not. You can’t deny that since 1981 when the top tax bracket dropped from 70% to 28% the wealth of the United States has become more and more concentrated into the hands of the ultra rich.

These edge cases are held up to promote division between us. We marginalize these behaviors in polite society and have for decades. By reinforcing them you are directly contributing to maintaining the status quo. You can point to bad actors in any demographic and say this is why normal people can’t trust each other. It’s a tool wielded against the working and middle class to keep us divided. If you insist on continuing to do this you’re either a willing tool or a useful idiot.

The opposite side of the coin seems to be true as well, these over the top entitled young women on TikTok taking about how all men are trash or only men that are over six feet tall and make six figure salaries are acceptable- I feel both of these toxic types are being elevated in social media to appear to be more common than they really are and to draw others into these kinds of damaging behaviors. The argument used to be that conflict drives engagement but it seems more likely that the opposite…

Agree. Also it’s clear to me that forces that are invested in creating barriers and distance between groups are affecting us in ways we don’t appreciate enough. See Facebook’s Cambridge Analytics and the rise of Tictok culture. Both of these platforms run on algorithms written and maintained by people that perhaps do not have our best interests in mind.

Western women are not ready to have this conversation. Clearly, the sweeping societal changes of the last 60 years have had unintended consequences. Wage stagnation and cost of living inflation have compounded those issues. Men are retreating from higher education and women are replacing them, but those gains are questionable: the cost of college has exploded and the degrees are rapidly losing value, and blue collar trades have also lost economic ground; we are in a mess. I personally believe we…

Robotics, yet another field dominated by men. The misandry in this sub knows no bounds. I came here for a debate about gender relations because we cannot form any kind of class solidarity while we are busy bashing each other. Women and feminist men are not ready to have this conversation.

Good god most men would have to stop after a few simply from the chafing. I had to safely google this woman (who is Bonnie Blue), and while I don’t consider myself prudish I wouldn’t get near her for health reasons. That’s crazy to think banging a thousand men in a day is anywhere near acceptable even in a decadent society. Perhaps it’s a matter of personal preference. Gross.

All of my adult life I’ve heard both men and women say that in order to attract a woman a man must have confidence. I think we have forgotten that conman is a shortened form of confidence man, a man that uses and instills confidence in order to take something they don’t deserve. You want men to take accountability and stop getting passed around? Who do you think these men are? They’re conmen that scam sex from women. I’m not saying that women need to lower their standards. I’m just saying, that …

Ok look, I’m not endorsing this view so don’t bite my head off. I think promiscuity bothers some men because they view sex as something sacred to be shared within marriage, and promiscuity on either end cheapens that experience. More broadly, worldliness is also viewed with suspicion because a woman who has seen a lot can no longer be impressed by anything her husband could show her. They seem to be related.

And if these 100-1 men are busy impregnating all the women who is going to feed them, build houses, build and maintain roads and bridges, transport goods, work all the trades, everything that men do in all male jobs? Because the men are going to be too tuckered out to do anything but procreate. Men and women are equal until it’s time to pour concrete or fix a roof.

Kids tend to favor the father for evolutionary reasons, so the father is more likely to bond with the child. So most of the time a dna test is unnecessary. If your kid looks like an ex or a neighbor or a coworker, test that shit.

He communicated what he wanted. He didn’t know how she felt about him because he is not a mind reader. She communicated that they didn’t want the same thing. You think men are mindless automatons with no emotions or desires. She is not entitled to his friendship. You’re clearly not listening, you are ax grinding. I’m not going to argue with you, there is no point. You lack the emotional intelligence to understand that it’s ok for men to know what they do and do not want, that it’s ok for a woman…

The answer to your question is honesty. Honesty is why he tells the person he is bonded with the truth. He’s not looking for a friend, he’s looking for a partner. How is this so hard to understand? Men aren’t users because they want to be in a romantic relationship. If the feeling isn’t reciprocated he moves along because he respects her feelings. He isn’t demanding anything.

Ok then, answer me this: say he becomes her friend. Some time later he meets an eligible woman who wants to be with him. How do you think she’d react if he told her he had a female friend who he once had feelings for? Do you honestly think this would help achieve his goal of finding a partnership, or that the friendship can continue without risking his new relationship? Wouldn’t it be better if they both went their own way? I think you don’t understand what entitlement means. Entitlement means h…

People want different things. She is not entitled to his friendship any more that he is entitled to her to be romantic. If he cares about her letting her go respects her wishes. If she cares about him at all she’ll understand it if he’s not interested in a friendship. There are no bad guys here, no victims.

Men can be friends with women. It’s not wise to friend bond with married peers but otherwise it’s not unusual. Friend zone is reserved for a person that has an interest to bond romantically, not for all friends of the opposite sex. I hope you can see the difference. A boy meets a girl. There is no sexual tension because of any number of reasons- she’s not single, she’s not in the same age cohort, he isn’t single, he isn’t attracted to her, lots of other reasons- these are friends. A boy meets a …

I don’t think it needs to be overthought. From my own experience and from what I’ve read of modern male grievance, normal men are looking for a generally healthy woman who isn’t combative, is willing to meet halfway on action and discussion, and who will stick around through tough times to preserve an otherwise healthy family life with both parents. There are obviously bad actors from both genders. The acts they perpetrate may vary in scope and damage but the fact remains neither gender can clai…

I’m not some trad guy looking for a trad wife. You like to be inked and educated and I respect that. What matters to me is whether a potential partner is trustworthy enough to risk what’s left of my future in order to be in another relationship and my physical requirement is only to not be obese. Men and women should have expectations of their partners. Sex, loyalty, peace, what’s wrong with those? If you can’t live in peace with someone who is loyal to you and is intimate with you what is the point of a relationship? I don’t understand it either. My feeling is that trump isn’t particularly appealing to many but that liberal identity politics revolts them more. /r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 02:28 AM

I think you don’t understand what misogyny is. Male advocacy is not misogynistic any more than feminism is the same as egalitarianism. It is not, because the purpose of feminism is to advocate and advance women’s issues, not to achieve equality. If male advocacy is misogynistic then the opposite must also be true, that feminism is misandrist.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 02:07 AM
8

But where does it end? If even talking about male advocacy is misogynistic, what are the limits of feminism? Society isn’t perfect for men. We have legitimate problems that need to be addressed, and to deny that tells men that they must go elsewhere for answers. I’m a leftist and I think liberals in the US are so drunk on identity politics they are damaging their own cause.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 02:03 AM
6

I’m trying to approach this topic in an unbiased way, and it’s impossible for me to think that in 2025 men have no societal issues that need to be addressed and it’s all toxic privilege. I think also that the reaction to minimize, demonize or ridicule any form of male advocacy is a big part of why young men are flocking to conservatism and even more toxic thinking.

I’m becoming troubled about the ease of which human beings are being classified as ‘high value’ or ‘low status’ or rated 1-10. Feminism is not universally accepted because it does not actually strive for true equality. It is not an egalitarian movement. I truly believe that if egalitarianism was the goal reasonable modern people would not take issue with it. The problem I see with male advocacy is that many people believe that is reasonable to ignore men’s issues because they don’t exist. Modern men do have societal problems that should be addressed, and minimizing them or ridiculing them will push a lot of men into tox…

These things may all be true. Boys are 1-2 years behind girls in development but we never take that into account.

Last spring a TikTok video went viral in which eight women were asked would they rather meet a man or a bear while alone in the woods, and seven responded that they would rather meet the bear. Bears are not a common sight here, and barring some instances when wild animals wander in to town, it is extremely unlikely for an American to ever see one. An online debate started and most women and many men agreed that it would be better to meet the bear, because at least the bear couldn’t do anything w…

No. I mean, if we ignore the toxic people, the misogynists and misandrists, is it possible at this time to allow well meaning advocates for men and women to have honest conversations with the hope of achieving egalitarian solutions? Is true equality even possible, and is it possible for men to advocate for themselves in earnest without being labeled a misogynist? I feel the fabric of our society is being torn apart and I’d like to understand how we can come back together, not by reverting to the…

I don’t understand why you would answer in this way. Do you believe that I am implying that we should take women’s rights away?

Do you honestly think men treat women this way?

If your choice of male companions treat you this way you should make better choices of what company you keep.

I hope that is true and I hope that once marginalized groups will be graceful with those whose in group were once dominant. Just because almost all of the people who hold all of the power are from one group, doesn’t mean that all members of that group are privileged. In fact, it seems to me that the opposite can be true. If the most powerful among us are white men, that doesn’t mean that all white men are given extra privileges. We are the competition and are expected to succeed and if we don’t …

Besides, the older generations have not all fought against the societal changes we are grappling with, and indeed were among the first to challenge old ideals and hierarchies. Gender roles, tribalism, human sacrifice and slavery, moving past these things as a society was a natural growth of civilization. The work isn’t finished; abolishing slavery has not in itself dissolved dangerous racial ideologies, and we need to continue evolving as a society and civilization. But we also need to understan…

What would you say to a well meaning person who is interested in reaching a state of true egalitarianism? It’s neither here or there, but as an autistic man I am interested in your opinion about how or if it’s wise to advocate for males in a nontoxic way in the modern world. Is it possible to agree that toxic men and women should be marginalized so the rest of us can come to reasonable compromise and mutual understanding and respect?

My question is whether the path we are on will lead to egalitarianism. The answer appears to be no. As a modern person raised in a gender-roleless family I have hoped that was what we were aiming for, but to me it seems we are not ready for that yet.

I’ve been grappling with the question of whether there is a space for nontoxic male advocacy in 2025, and you make it clear that there are reactionaries that will make such debate difficult, even in a space that is set aside for such debates.

If you are constantly being misunderstood, perhaps work on your communication skills and learn how to not respond to earnest debate with personal insults. Giving a rude or ick response to someone approaching you in a respectful manner says more about the gracefulness of the woman and less about the creepiness of the man. Just be kind. Treat others like you’d wanted to be treated, it’s not an unreasonable ask, just as it is not unreasonable to ask men to take into account the vulnerability she is in at the moment. A respectful approach in a safe space is not creepy.

It’s unfortunate that the young generation aren’t learning the lessons of the mistakes we older people have made. All of this looksmaxxing, rating of people 1-10, trying to determine who among us are high value people, this is all surface level bs that will not help us as a society in any way whatsoever. It’s selfish and childish. It’s the self important thinking that they are part of the elite when nothing could be further from the truth. We are getting our asses kicked by the capitalists. The …

I think that beginning with the beatniks, we as a society have yanked out a lot of bad legacy code out of gender relations, norms and roles but on the whole we haven’t been able to replace that with something new that works for everyone. For example, instead of having one income households with defined gender roles, we now have workplace competition between the genders. We have allowed society’s owners to pit ourselves against each other. One income isn’t enough anymore for the vast majority of …
