Yeah, I agree with this ^ if you think all women are like that, you’re probably going to attract women who are exactly like that. It’s similar to how people get stuck in abusive relationship cycles, consistently being attracted to the same thing that messed them up last time. I (25F) kept dating guys who were physically abusive until I got myself some therapy and broke the cycle.

Would like to just give you a compliment, a guy who isn’t scared to dance, whether he’s good or not, is sexy! Attraction is kinda nebulous so it is a little hard to describe, so a lot of us women kinda end up just going “be confident” which I agree, isn’t very helpful. When I say “confident”, what I generally mean isn’t necessarily someone who has everything together and is secure all the time (because who is??) but someone who’s open and able to be honest with their partner/potential partner - …

This is an actively harmful idea for men’s mental health. Men will continue to not seek help for depression if others justify it by blaming the suicide on other people. I was suicidal myself, and you have to seek therapy if you’re in that space. Ultimately, only you can save yourself, even if others want to help, depression is a beast that isolates you from everyone around you. Don’t romanticise suicide by claiming it’s because of heart-broken men going through divorce. For anyone reading this, …

I can’t access the full study for some reason, so can’t say I have an opinion on it. Abstracts are not a good way to get an understanding of the literature - here’s another study that counters that by saying that men value physical attractiveness more and women value ambition and social status more - I think it’s definitely not as cut and dry as a single study could ever portray it. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3338495/

23F here and I strongly disagree, confidence is everything. A spineless attractive guy wouldn’t get a second look from me. A lot of my friends would say the same. Confidence (not cockiness) is probably the most important thing that initially attracts you to someone. After that, compatibility and personality take charge on whether a relationship is good.

I couldn’t date a man who insisted on paying all the time. I’m pretty prideful and work long hours so it would really be a point of contention for me. I dislike feeling like a charity case haha (even though I know it’s not about that)

22F here, I’m gonna be honest, maybe this is anecdotal evidence but at least in most of the women I interact with, expecting the guy to pay for everything is pathetic and frowned upon - a lot of us go Dutch, and split halves. I know I definitely do with my boyfriend.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
