Right? I was even more glad after seeing that, that I didn't go out with him. He probably would have tried to have sex with me.

I completely understand. I'm so sorry you went through that! You deserve better. Both then and now. It's completely understandable to feel that way and to now have that association. I dont think that's wrong of you. I associate videogames with abuse and being gaslighted because the men I dated who were abusive and did such, they all played videogames heavily. Also, remember that although those women did like to play games and you didn't, they likely still lacked in something you had. No one is p…

Yup exactly. It seriously concerns me that this is how some people's thought processes actually are.

Yup thats what happened to me too. I became actually clingy and needy because my needs were 100% deprived of being met. I actually started to believe it was my problem and he wanted me to bring it up in therapy. When I did, my therapist told me it sounded like his problem and that he had an addiction. I told him that and he played less for about a week, then reverted right back to his old ways. I couldn't even watch a movie with him because if he was away from the computer, he had about 4 differ…

Especially this comment: "To be honest I almost think this is a good problem to have. Better he finds his own space through Warcraft than through an affair or becoming abusive." Like what in the actual hell.

And I 100% agree with you. I had a roommate the same gender as me once, and she was even worse. You just never really know who anyone is truly until its too late half the time.

100% agree. This has happened in every single relationship I've had with a gamer. Also, when you do communicate that you'd like them to spend more quality time with you, you're then clingy or too needy Also every man I've ran into with domestic assault charges happens to be a moderate to heavy gamer..not sure if thats a coincidence or not.

Same actually. Everytime ive dated someone into games, it progressively got worse the longer we dated when the "honeymoon" phase wore off. Its always initially they play less, put effort in, give you time because you're something new and exciting. However, then 6 months to a year in they can't be bothered to spend time with you anymore and make it sound like the end of the world if you communicate that you'd like them to. Thats just been my experience. I actually refuse to date gamers anymore du…

I agree with you. I've had relationships completely change when living together and realizing their living habits are horribly incompatible with my own. I'd rather know that before being legally tied.

The last guy I was seeing, I was about to meet up with him for a third time and when I restated my boundaries about not wanting sex, he went off the handle on me. I stopped talking to him after and I decided to google his name down to the middle initial. It came up with really horrible domestic assault charges and an article detailing what he did and how he was in jail back in December. You never know who someone is. Always good to check. Im glad you found out!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
