Learn from them, think about why they were good. Enjoy them, remember why they felt good. Don't hold onto them, try to recreate new ones.

Oneitis is a hellavu disease. Just came down with it after a whole 4 years of being able to be outcome independent, and while I knew exactly what I was doing wrong, and how unattractive it was, sometimes emotions make you stupidly irrational. I did end up telling her how I felt and everything, almost immediately, rather than wallowing in fear of what might happen, which is a huge step up from what I probably would have done several years ago, but being as inexperienced as I was, on top of the fa…

I remember someone encountering a similar situation here before. I really liked his response. He basically said, 'Hey, that's my girlfriend you're hitting on'. The other dude either responds by backing off, or calling you out. If he does, for example say something like 'Prove it', easy excuse to k-close your date.

Does it matter? You're getting free stuff, so what if he's 'misleading you'. You act as though that diminishes the value of his gift.

It fucking felt fantastic to be rejected. This is so unbelievably true. I still remember the first time I all out just went for it and asked a girl out for a date. I had oneitis over this chick for the greater part of a year, and when I finally bit the bullet and got rejected, felt like the biggest weight had been lifted from my shoulders. It wasn't just the fact that it was closure, it was the end of me getting oneitis, it was me realising that it's not actually a big deal and most importantly,…

For some AFCs, the thought of rejection is so terrifying that they've never even experienced due to never asking anyone out. That was me at one point. After being basically incapacitated by oneitis, I decided to just do it, if only to just end it. I don't know how else to put it, but it was honestly was of the greatest, most liberating feelings I had ever felt. The first rejection is just so important for that reason, because it lets you know that being rejected is not that bad.

Oh wow, that advice reminds me of the first time I asked out a girl who I had massive oneitis over. Had a straight up no, but after the call, it actually felt the greatest thing ever, I instantly lost my oneitis, and made me realise that getting rejected isn't that big a deal.

Some of the stuff that comes out of 4chan has seriously been some of the most concrete/inspirational stuff I have ever read. I guess it balances all the batshit crazy stuff out.

From what I know, the only way is overcome your fear is to face it. What I'm going to say is going to be a repetition of what you've likely read on here already, but honestly, the 'no fucks given' attitude is achieved by getting shut down so much that you don't care any more. When you first start out, you WILL over think everything, even if you try not to. The first few steps is all about going in, and getting shutdown, because eventually, you won't care if you do, and that's when you'll start t…

1) Make your intentions clear through body language so it doesn't seem like you're doing it randomly (maintain eye contact, smile) and just do it that way, you don't need lines. 2) If you absolutely want a line to be sure, go for something like, 'I'm going to kiss you' or something along the lines of 'What would you do if I were to kiss you', and you'll probably get a vague answer which is your queue to reply with something corny like, 'let's find out', and go for it. But seriously, if you manag…

Once I got that rejection (or more specifically, once I had the words out of my mouth), all that pent up frustration just dissipated away. This is so fucking true. I had a severe case of oneitis last year, and towards the end, I decided, 'fuck it, I'm just going to go for it'. Ended up calling the girl, stuttering out some words, and getting rejected in an unspectacular fashion. As soon as the phone call finished, instead of feeling depressed and in the gutter as expected, I felt freaking amazin…
