Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing man! 👊 These are the good times. Peace is absolutely priceless.

Things move quickly at first but trust me.....no matter how amicable things are now it will not go quickly. Yes she was likely cheating on you (same exact evidence that led to me finding out about my cheat ex affair) unless your state has a fault for infidelity it doesn't matter. No fault state won't make any difference at all. Could she have spent money on/with him sure.....was it a life changing amount, probably not. Make your list of non-negotiables and ideal outcomes for YOU (and your kids i…

Interview multiple lawyers. Make your list of non-negotiables Only hire who is on the same page and will fight for you. You file first and have her served. Start at no child support and no alimony 50-50 with the kids and split all expenses. She can get a job now. This is her new life. Me: Married 13 yrs, two daughters as well cheating ex wife blew it all up.

For perspective I've been EXACTLY where you are....wife cheated, I forgave, we rebuilt trust, had more kids, built an even bigger better life and 4 years later she cheated again. I'm divorced now. Once a cheater......always a cheater is undefeated. You are not over reacting. This guy should have been a zero tolerance no-contact after you forgave here. If she can't respect that as a boundary she is already gone. Do not confront the guy, he's not the problem, your wife is. Keep your cool. Get your…

A lot of great advice already. 1 Do not leave your home. 2 Be the man your boys think you are....yes VERY big shoes to fill. Start focusing on you and the next steps.

OP, this is the way. File first, have her served. Make your list of non negotiables with your lawyer (50-50 with the kids, no child support, no spousal support, etc. start aggressive) I'm sorry you're going through this, but you sound calm and tactically ready to go. Stay the course and be strong for your kids. Reach out if you need anything. Been out 2 yrs now from cheating ex with two young kids. You got this 👊

This is the way!!! OP your journey is just beginning. Be tactical not emotional. I'm so sorry this is happening but as you said you should thank her for showing her true self. See you on the other side and I wish you peace through this process. Reach out if you need anything or just to vent.

Honestly it sounds terrible. You NEED to do whatever it takes to get actual 50-50. She is making the current offer sound like a charity to you to actually get time with your kids. She will continue to lean on you. You'll be doing all the work, shuttling etc, but on paper she is 100% and paid CS accordingly. It stinks. BTW I'm sorry you are going through this and I hope you find that my input is coming from a place of brotherly love. 👊 Stay strong and fight the good fight. You'll thank yourself l…

You're not alone, by a long shot, we got you and you got this. I was in your shoes, I stayed, forgave, and rebuilt trust, had kids, grew businesses, living the dream.....guess what she cheated again. Once a cheater ALWAYS a cheater. Thankfully this all came to light before kids. She is not who you think she is. It all sucks I know.....the vision of your future etc. GONE. It's a business transaction now. Start rebuilding for YOU today. See you on the other side. 👊

If you have undeniable proof, consult with at least three lawyers and file for divorce without notifying her ahead of time. I could have wrote this word for word....my exact scenario, except later I found out it was multiple men on multiple work trips...... I confronted her (mistake #1, I should have filed as soon as I found out) she begged for me to forgive her, think about our kids etc. We went to weekly therapy for 18 months, rebuilt trust, intimacy etc. I stayed (mistake #2) thinking she was…

Get the bike, and more importantly allocate the time to enjoy it. Divorce is mentally emotionally and financially exhausting.....now you can get back to living YOUR life on YOUR terms. Don't ever feel bad about that. Take pleasure in your hard fought freedom and tranquility. 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' might be a great book for you at this time. You're right! It's all conditioning. See you on the road!! 👊🏁 I'm about to go for a drive (car) for no reason but to listen to music and…

"she said she wasn’t going to go and meet other people cause she wants to grow and be independent not worry about another man" They are so unoriginal and predictable. We think our wife is different, she wouldn't do that, she wouldn't lie, etc. Translation: She is 99% sleeping with another man, right now. I'm sorry but how many threads in here have this exact sentence quoted only to find out YUP she was lying and is hooking up with.......trainer, neighbor, work husband, etc.

Stay single through the divorce process. Keep your mind as clear and focused as possible. Work on yourself and the priceless relationship with your daughter. AFTER the divorce you may want to explore but what you will likely find is that your peace is priceless. The calmness in your home with you daughter will be a tranquility you fought hard to earn. Enjoy it, find fulfillment in that. Stay strong. -From a Dad of two girls who recently got through to the other side. 🙏

Interview no less than 5 lawyers in your area. Discuss your non negotiables (50-50 with the kids, no alimony, keep the house, retirement distributions, etc). When you find one who says we can make that happen, ie will go to war for you..... File first.....you're going to need every advantage in the process and having her as the respondant allows you a little more control of the process. Best of luck

100% you go!! It's about YOU and your son!!! Nothing else matters. Be there for him and no one else. Take the high road. Show up as the strong (sane) parent your kids love and depend on for stability. You are their rock. Shake hands, say hi, eat cake then go to the gym and go HAM!!!! (Hard As a Mf!) Regarding bf and your ex. Remember, he didn't cause your wife to nuke her family, she did. He's just the latest dude in her life. You don't have to do a long intro or anything. Hey brother! First I wish you peace and a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart. I hear you loud and clear.....seems like the walls are closing in around you and there is no way out......BUT just like in an ultra marathon, it's one foot in front of the other. Tough spot my man.....I'm sure it's been wearing on you for a while before posting here. I've been there...... Your purpose, vision, and drive is (ironically) what drew her to you in the first place. If you waiver from that she will lose respect (even though she says it's what she wants) and you will resent her. Communication is key and required to prevent things from breaking down further. You outline the scenario very clearly in your post. Print it out and show it to her. Or reformat it like a…

Came here to write that exact quote. 👏 You're just getting started on the greatest adventure of YOUR life. Truly unlimited possibilities. They have to talk down about others because they are in the same old path they've always been on....you on the other hand.....you'll look back on this as a time that you overcame the odds, held your shit together and came out the other side the hero. Throw a big party, declare your love for each other, read your vows, or whatever the church ceremony entails or wants ...... Do NOT sign the marriage license. There is no need to enter a legal contract (with NO future protection for you, read male) for matters of love, if that's what it's really about. You have an unique opportunity to play life by your rules. Your wife and future family will likely be better off as well. The legal pressure of 'forever' makes women (and men) act crazy. Asking fo…

Another note, sounds like you are the stable parent. You kids must know that YOU are there for THEM and Mom is out. She obviously doesn't hold her children as her top priority. Be the Dad they need because it sounds like you are all they have. You would do anything for them.....she obviously can't say the same. For me being 50-50 with my two kids it's painful....If I could have full custody I would take it in a second and figure it out. I dream of her getting a new partner and leaving. Just anot…

Really sorry you have to deal with this kind of behavior after already spending this year upside down. Summary: All bark, no bite. She NEEDS the attention from you.....this is how she thinks she can get it, empty legal threats. You got to hold the line, when it comes to her NO RESPONSE. She will fade away.... :)

You will stay mentally strong as long as you need to get your non negotiable (50-50). Draw your line in the sand, let her know, matter of factly Say it with a calm conviction that you are not to be F'ed with and are not going to back down on the things that matter most to you.

All this 👊 For sleep..... Someone here recommended a portable steam sauna on Amazon for $200. I got one and I sleep so well now. Read a book while it preheats for 15 mins. Get in for 30 mins.....sweat it out. Jump in a cool shower get in bed. Peaceful rest.

Amazing insight and thanks for sharing! I came to say many of the same things. I too get hit with waves of 'she got away with everything '.....She cheated, nuked our family and is walking away a millionaire. She dropped the AP and had another BF and TBH have no clue who she's sleeping with now.... Our two elementary aged kids are 50-50 with us. I will continue to be the stable parent. Seems like she wants to get a reaction out of you........so ignore it/her. Things are going to get much more petty and frustrating than this when 'the process' starts. Believe me. You are going to need a shit ton of mental toughness and reciliancy in your own self (worth) to get through it. Focus on you. She is your enemy now.

I'm going to be 43 divorced, with two kids 50-50, and yeah I get it about what woman would deal with 'me' and my situation.......but that's not the goal. The goal is YOU! I just had this conversation today. I don't think guys realize the risk is too high. Marriage as a government contract is just bad business. It too has cost me dearly......dearly. No enforceable commitment, great term. They (40 F) can just nuke their family of four and walk out a millionaire. Her AP thinks he hit the jackpot. SMH. 100% You can't control what people say about you, true or false. It's not for you to worry about. Yes, there are effects but focus on what YOU can control, which is A LOT. You set the example. Show them. Be the strong stable parent, it's all you can do.

I'm trying to keep the house too because I want my kids to finish out school here and it checks a lot of my dream home boxes. She gets to 'cash out' now on every long term investment we made for our family's future, but she doesn't care about anyone but herself. Yeah and she'll still bitch about it not being enough. 43 yr old guy here, currently on month 7 of the separation and divorce process from my cheating stbxw. Married 12 yrs, 2 elementary kids. She stopped with her AP after they got caught (he was married too) and she started right up on another guy, and have since broke up. I'm not sure if she is on any apps or not, don't care. I've been separated since January. Got my two daughters 50% of the time. Work on YOU! It's been my best distraction. Read some books, get a workout routine or just go for walks, eat clean, try new recipes and ingredients. My friend said, use this mean time to 'lay out your plans for world domination'', LOL. Then when it's all done, execute it. I liked the suggestion and have started a journal of everything I want to do when the papers are signed.
