I love this phrase. I can honestly say that the best feelings in the world come after a long, enduring period of straight suck. Military training? 4 weeks of shit, but at the end you feel like a new man. Long runs early in the morning? The whole fucking run is awful, but when you can kick back and turn on the tv and feel like a boss afterwards, it makes embracing the suck worth it.

Since my last LTR ended about 6 months ago, I had forgotten how infuriating it can be to text a girlfriend. I agree with other comments saying that conveying disappointment is the way to handle this, followed by silence. Let her hamster run itself to death in her head while you ignore her, and by the next morning when you wake up you'll have missed calls, and texts apologizing for making "such a huuuuge mistake". The hamster can be your ally if you let it.

This is what opened my eyes to TRP. Made this mistake with an ex in my blue pill days: told her she was my motivation to get through military training so I could see her again. She cheated on me and dumped me the day I got back from a month of training. AWALT
