I'm not attracted to 98% of the male population and have never had a problem finding attractive men to date. If the men I'm attracted to are choosing me, where is the problem? No one is feeling "entitled" to anyone here. We are just connecting and dating.

One time, a guy waited for my date to go to the bathroom and came over when I was alone to get my number. I took it as a compliment and laughed it off.

As a woman, a coffee date is my #1 preference for first dates. I need a few minutes of their presence for a quick compatibility check, coffee is perfect for that. If I like the guy, it will always naturally escalate. My last coffee date was so amazing, we went to dinner after and the first date last 9 hours. It was electric (we ended up dating). I don’t want to commit to an entire evening and a lavish dinner when I’m not sure I’ll even like the guy in person. Made that mistake a few times.

Nope, she’ll only flake/ghost if she’s an asshole. And it’s on you to spot those red flags before you escalate. If you can’t, learn how to do that first.

It depends on the woman. I have a lot of hobbies/interests and want a man who shares my zest for life. My best friend likes to watch tv and drink wine. She wants a man who is chill like she is. Neither of us is right or wrong, we just have different interests that require different partners to satisfy. I'm not interested in a sedentary man, and she's not interested in a mountain climber. That's it.

Very good! But the point was to say that this works to intrigue both genders - acting this way as a woman works to seduce men too.

As a woman, this is exactly what I did on dates with men. It's quite effective.

Not at all. I've honed my social skills for the better part of my life, almost 3 decades, because I knew socializing doesn't come easy to me. A lot of my social skills are better than some of my extroverted friends. That doesn't change the fact that: I am very drained by social interaction (as mentioned in my comment) and I can only recover in solitude or nature (also, mentioned. Preferably long stints of solitude/nature). Socializing is WORK and I build in recovery time into my calendar after e…

100%. I'm a very introverted woman in STEM, but I have a large social circle and professional network. Just because I'm very drained by that interaction and need to recover in solitude/nature doesn't mean I don't know how to interact. Every time the topic comes up people are absolutely shocked to learn that their local "social butterfly" is an introvert, simply because of the common misconception that introvertism = social ineptitude.

lol Assuming that's not a troll comment: It's always been the opposite for me in relationships. I've had the unbelievable luck of being raised by very emotionally intelligent parents who have instilled healthy emotional habits in me from a young age. I thrive under stress, always have. Nothing wrong with crying in another's arms, but it's not my style, never has been. That's why I'm looking for a man who can hold his own and that I don't have to baby.

As a woman, I would never ask for anything in a male partner that I do not have myself. I work out often, take care of myself, am actively working toward my career goals (run a successful company), I constantly seek self-improvement and have a growth mindset. I garner a decent amount of unprompted male attention weekly in public (translating that into "societally attractive" based on past experiences). I want the same in a partner. I don't want an average man, and I'm not offering an average par…

I might be in a weird love bubble but every grandparent I personally know was very close, loving, caring and communicative with their partner until one or both died. Including my parents and friend's parents, who are aging into 70's-80's. They don't need to "tolerate" each other because they actively love each other. One of my friend's parents are divorced but they're still very active in each other's lives and family community, cordial and kind. I don't know where you're finding all of these dr…

A tip I heard that I love that works for both sexes - if being unapologetically yourself around them doesn't get THEM to make a first move, they're not for you. No flirting, no asking, just being yourself should be enough to either make them think "hm why aren't they approaching? Totally thought they would" and gets the idea in their head, or they were interested from the beginning and would have approached you anyway. If nothing happens, there was nothing for you to "approach" in the first plac…

Same. I want my partner to be able to keep up with me physically so that I can do sports with them - physical fitness and agility are so important to me. They comprise at least half of my hobby time and will forever, so if he's not pulling his weight, there will always be friction. If "Let's do a 15 mile hike & summit tomorrow!" or "Let's do a tennis tournament together!" gets met with "I'd rather not, let's do a brewery tour instead." or "Let's do brunch instead." it gets rather old, rather qui…

Oh man, picky eaters, little interest in sport & lack of curiosity/love for life are SO high on my unattractive list. Are you me?! You've nailed this list so well I've saved it.

Unattractive: - Being a perpetual victim - Non-creativity - Inability to think for self Attractive: - Has personal governing values that are backed up by logic/reason - Emotionally intelligent/balanced - Truly kind

As an outdoorsy woman who cares about the rivers and lakes I paddle in (and brings bags with me specifically to collect litter on my hikes), this is like music to my ears. It almost seems like a good-hearted community is needed to steer and raise people in this direction? I've had much more luck finding men with these traits in my Slavic home country, which is generally much more community and nature-oriented than the US populations I've lived in. Just gotta find that niche here, somehow!

These are some of my top favorite traits, but I've yet to find a partner emotionally intelligent enough to posses these. I continue to date those who don't (since they are available), but it's tough when it seems like they're truly trying and progressing in therapy - unfortunately progress is so, so slow and I don't know if I have the patience to wait years before they become an emotionally balanced human. Where have you found people like this?

Why agree to a date with someone who doesn't qualify in the first place? If they're all so bad, why are you going on dates at all in your select demographic if you know it won't work?

From your examples, it's also clear that you don't know how to vet your dating pool for red flags or cease communication when they become apparent. You've chosen one of the pinnacles of leading edge social tech (AI girlfriend) and compared it to what sounds like some of the worst women to date out there. You're comparing apples to oranges. Seems like the real question is why are the majority of men refusing to/so bad at vetting their dates? Are they looking for any kind of validation - accepting…

For the first decade or so of my dating life I dated solely based on personality - looks weren't important (basic skills like hygiene, general fitness, etc. were of course, but those aren't looks). Now I consider physical traits in partners, but I had long, multi-year, healthy, fantastic relationships with people I didn't find physically attractive. I have no desire to pursue a potential relationship if there isn't emotional, intellectual and personality compatibility. If a guy hits all 3 of tho…

Out of my entire close woman friend group, including myself, none of us have ever hooked up casually with anyone or been in a FWB situation. We're very open with our sexual lives with each other and trust one another with our intimate stories. We don't have casual relationships because we don't want to - not because we feel "undervalued" by them. I believe that women only feel undervalued in hook up culture when they do not know who they are, are insecure and lack emotional intelligence. PS - Wh…

I'm sorry you had such a double-standard upbringing. If it helps you to sleep any better, I had been cat-called since a young age, but because I had such supportive and loving parents, I always had a safe and kind home to come back to so the catcalls didn't affect me at all really. I brushed off the nasty older men, followed my instincts when out and about rollerblading and riding bikes, and I was fortunate to never be in a dangerous situation with a stranger. I'm sure your daughters will thrive…

I'm very curious about this - none of the boys I grew up with (brother, cousin, close male friends) were ever beaten and grew up in a loving circumstance, but every single girl I grew up with has been cat called since age 11 by strangers. I guess the men I know are the lucky ones.

Dated a guy with 2 kids and you're completely right (F30, no kids). It was a constant moral struggle for me about putting myself or the kids first. I really needed a couple of days' winter break away from my extremely stressful project management job. But the kids wanted to see their mom 5 states away - would I really not do everything in my power to reunite them with mom for Christmas? That would make me a monster. But so would not taking time for myself to rest for a few days before work start…

Money is simply an indicator that a man might have the qualities listed, but it is not what determines the red or green light. It's one of many factors to consider when finding a well-rounded partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/21 07:21 PM

Absolutely. Who am I to judge why he is down on his luck? As long as he's fighting to be a better person, displays true passion for his interests and is actively improving his life, he's a contender. Just like I am, he should be doing introspective work and taking the respective real-life steps. I know people with well-paying jobs who have very little of any of those qualities.

I love a coffee date. So many times, the men I match and text with are not at all in real life who they project on their profile. A 30-45 minute coffee date weeds out the people who aren't compatible with you, as opposed to spending 3 total hours on a dinner. If the coffee date goes well, it moves to dinner. One guy said he was an entrepreneur in text, but during dinner it turns out he's an unemployed, non-work-seeking 35 year old that lives with his parents who wired some Christmas lights on hi…

Yep, and I've dated them. I seem to be drawn to them, maybe because as a woman, I'm not attracted to them unless I have an emotional and intellectual connection. That quite easily weeds out the guys trying to find a quick lay without a relationship for me. In my healthy long term relationships (3+ years), we've both been able to appreciate an attractive person, but would never act on it because why? You have a pot of gold and love and support and loyalty and deep soul connection right here. What…

I am like the above poster. No, I am incredibly fortunate to not have or have had any mental health conditions and thankfully, no mental health conditions run in my family as far as we know. I recognize how extremely lucky I am to have been dealt this hand in life. You both use your gifts, talents and passions to make the other person happy in a way no one else can or would. My boyfriend has 2 cats he absolutely adores. A few months before Christmas, I went to his flat when he was out, using the excuse that I forgot a "book," but actually spent time posing his cats in proper lighting to take pics of them for reference. I composed a portrait of them and spent my 3 full days off that month painting a large portrait of them so he can hang it in the space in h…

Thankfully, not all women seek the unicorn I describe. A lot of women I know prefer a truly extroverted man. Maybe I have a chance!

I (F) am highly introverted, but anyone who knows me would call me a social butterfly. I am insanely attracted to introverted guys. Not socially inept or insecure - introverted. My ideal man is just as naturally outgoing and confident as I am publicly, but would prefer to recharge in a mountain tent or with a book as opposed to a bar or friend hangout.

Hmm, I'm from Europe myself and tend to find "traditionally European" features/faces attractive, for the lack of a better descriptor. I'm blonde haired-blue eyed, and that's the combo I also intuitively look for in a partner. To give you some actor facial archetypes, I think Alexander Dreymon, Jensen Ackles and Chris Hemsworth are very attractive. My most recent ex looked like a mix of Dreymon and Sam Hueghan.

I have never had a problem dating in that spectrum, so going on previous experience, I guess I make the cut. I'm a bit uncomfortable aiming much higher than what I perceive myself to be.

I guess I have a very small window for men I find truly attractive. They're probably conventionally attractive. I figured this out once I actually started answering the question "Do I find him physically attractive?" completely honestly, instead of settling with a "eh, sure, I guess he can be cute in certain lighting?"

Same for me. My first 4 long term relationships were with people I wasn't physically attracted to because their personalities were so great, I thought it would be enough. Now I only date men I'm attracted to. The dating pool is extremely, and I mean extremely small, but it's only fair to both him and I.

Just had a guy on Hinge "miss" scheduling our date we tentatively set for Wednesday because he didn't realize he had class that night (first week). I was giving him time to confirm with his schedule. He messaged me "let's play it by ear for next week!" No thanks. You're not busy - you're all over the place, and you clearly don't value my time now, so why would you ever? I told him "sounds like you're busy, I'll leave you to it. Good luck!" It wasn't as good as OP's, but I'm done letting guys get…

Weltanschauung, or the absence of it in American dating culture, is the hardest thing for me. I'm a European trying to connect to the American men I meet, but it's so hard when the "metaphysical view on the world" isn't even a concept in their mind, much less something that's discussed. To me, it's what matters most. It's why my last American ex and I broke up - he didn't care about what truly matters, which to me, is the intangible; your actions, words, thoughts, analysis on situations, how you…

This is why I generally get along MUCH better with Europeans. The spending time with Americans but not getting a deep connection sentiment? Exactly what happened with my ex's American family - he wanted us to get close, but hanging out with them was really tough. They didn't care about anything interesting, were self-absorbed and honestly assholes. I tried SO hard to actively partake in their discussions of dog park drama but they not once asked me about me, what I like, what I think. It was lik…

Never in my life have I met a woman who makes one man wait, and has sex with another in the same time frame. Would love to hear from any woman that has done this. From mine and all of my girl friends' experience, if we are waiting, we are waiting for everyone. No one gets to cut in line because they're Chad. This is a hilarious sentiment and proves that you're probably associating with the wrong girls.

I believe you. I think the childhood friend scenario is similar to a brother/sister/cousin relationship - you would never, for as long as the universe exists, even attempt to see them in a non-platonic light. Why can't that apply to someone who is essentially your cousin, sans blood relation?

Isn't that on the man himself, then, to be able to understand which women have high n counts and which don't? It's on HIM to know how to choose that, instead of assuming that every woman has slept with many people just because he doesn't have the skills to read a human and pick up on red flags. Men aren't "victims" of high counts - the ones who are clearly don't know how to understand others. Is 9/10 bad? Do you expect to date a 10/10 model?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/21 04:08 AM
6

Absolutely. Attraction is subjective and flowy and can be attained through intimacy (emotional, physical, etc.). Personality is more objective, because it either is aligned with you or is not. I was not attracted to 5 out of 6 of my long term boyfriends initially, but when we got close, my attraction to them rose from 2/10 to 9/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/21 08:10 PM

Sure. I call that learning. Grow from your past mistakes (don't even enter a relationship in which they give %40, the red flags will be there beforehand, it's your job to spot them), learn how to find genuinely good people and keep them around. It's not impossible, I do it.
/r/MGTOW29/01/19 04:30 AM

Quit putting people in your lives who don't give to you as you give to them. Choosing who you associate with is on you. The most effective way to put yourself first is to create an environment in which others respect you like you respect you.
