A few years off to relax after that How about the rest of his life. He never got a high school education, which is worthless as it is. The brain stops developing for men at 25. So asking him to develop a skill set near retirement age is asking for another miracle, considering his first one was simply getting out. Give the man an initial giant settlement and then a 50k a year stipend because he's been through enough.

I doubt the numbers are accurate simply because personal debt isn't a normal topic of conversation, especially between this many people. Even less likely to come up if your trying to give the appearance that everything's ok.
